Banned Moves: All but Metronome.
Arena: Goldenrod City

Skyscrapers and radio towers abound in the hustle-and-bustle of Goldenrod's city streets, blotting out the sun and yet trapping heat in a paradoxical manner. Wingull harass passerby, people don't look at you as you pass them, and the most garish music blares from every punk's Team Rocket-styled Pokétch, and chatter issues from each and every businessman speaking into a headset.

Time to burn it all to the smoking, charred ground.

The battle begins on a dour-way intersection, cordoned off to the public. Of course, a few of those that haven't realized that this is an infamous Asber Metronome Battle have infiltrated the weak security measures, which are basically some yellow 'CAUTION' tape and a few randomly-placed orange cones.

Water mains and sewers under the streets will burst to provide for the battle's antics, and similar things will happen to ensure the maximum in destruction.

Additional Rules: All Pokémon have infinite energy. Also, the referee may at any time teleport the battlers and themselves to a different place in the city, say, the top of the Department store or something.

Round 7

Angry again, as Mankey tend to be, Kong triggers another Metronome. The wagging finger lights up a bright pink, which then surrounds Kong, as well as extending two beams outwards and surrounding Kergen. The beams of light connecting the two larger pink auras begin to move as energy is transferred between the two Mankey. Oddly, neither one seems affected by the energy transfer. Kergen tries to examine her body as the energy fades, but while her brain again says move, her body refuses to respond.

Kong, meanwhile, does inspect himself thoroughly, but finds nothing odd about himself besides the tiny seed wrapped around his leg. He had forgotten about the seed until now, and angrily tries to kick at it with his free leg, but all this does is cause him to lose his balance and fall, nearly landing face-first on a tiny, purple spike. Back across the gym, Kergen regains her mobility and inspects herself as well. She finds no seed, though she notices a fair few bruises and scrapes in various parts of her body. She wonders why she hasn’t felt tired in the least during this entire fight, even though she very clearly is hurting. The female Mankey looks across the field to see Kong doing an odd sort of dance. Instinctively, Kergen begins imitating him, having the same result; she loses her balance and stumbles backwards.

Kong angrily stands up, deciding to ignore the seed once again. Instead, he looks towards Kergen, noticing her on the ground as well. He wonders what happened to her; he surely didn’t do anything to her, yet. He quickly spins around to check behind him, nearly puts his foot on a spike, and leaps backwards to avoid it, losing his balance and stumbling over once again. Meanwhile, Kergen, having just stood up, begins a Metronome before any other accidents can occur. Her paws glow an evil purplish color as it activates. A swirling, dark purple orb begins to form in her paw. On it’s own accord, the orb triples in size and flings itself across the battlefield, growing still as it moves, and surrounds Kong. The male Mankey is hidden from view by the dark orb, as it discharges occasional purple sparks. Eventually, the orb fizzles out, leaving Kong standing, seemingly unharmed, in its wake.

Round 8

Kong blinks, still wondering what exactly just happened. He feels fine however, or at least, no worse than he did before he dark orb captured him. Anyway, he starts wagging his fingers again. This time, his hand begins to glow a chilly light blue. He instinctively dashes up to Kergen and plunges his icy hand into the top of her head. Kergen cries out as he does so, his hand feeling unusually cold and sharp. He doesn’t linger, being rather vulnerable while standing in front of his enemy, and soon retreats. Kergen, eager for Kong to feel some of the pain she feels, then activates a Metronome of her own. Suddenly, lets out an extremely loud, startling scream. The sound surprises Kong, causing him to jump backwards and lose his footing.

Kong stands back up easily, wagging his fingers again. The glow turns a silvery color, and Kong feels an odd sensation in his head as it too turns metallic silver. He sprints forward, head down, and rams hard into Kergen’s face, throwing her far across the room and tumbling into a wall. Kergen barely manages to stand, not tired in the least but feeling very frail and shaky, and triggers a new Metronome. Both her hands change color to a pale green glow. She sprints back across the field, ramming her glowing hands into Kong’s eyes. The male Mankey screams in agony and pushes Kergen away, then proceeds to rub his tearing eyes.

Kong continues to blink as he begins another Metronome. It activates with a flash of white light, and Kong has a strong urge to growl. He does so, more loudly than any other thus far, letting all his rage out, and causing Kergen to step back in surprise. Still, it doesn’t stop her from triggering her own Metronome in response. Hers activates with a pink light instead, her eyes taking on the same color, Kong feels an odd chill down his spine, as if Kergen is somehow reading his mind, but all he can think about is how close he is to winning. The pink glow fades as Kergen growls angrily, losing her concentration.

Round 9

Eager to end this already, Kong begins wagging his fingers again. The Metronome activates with a flash of warm, red-orange light. Kong suddenly bursts into flames, similar to the earlier dragon flames, though orange in color rather than blue-green. Kong finds that the fire isn’t too hot or uncomfortable at all. Ignoring that fact, he charges and rolls towards Kergen, leaving a trail of fire behind him as he does so. The giant ball of fire crashes into Kergen, who, unlike Kong, has the displeasure of feeling just how hot that fire really is as she is sent flying. She does not even attempt to get back up as Kong rolls back towards his original place and the fires die out.

The referee decides that enough flood damage has been done to the gym, and suddenly the trainers and Pokémon find themselves in what looks at first glance like an ordinary office building, with computers and papers piled high on tables and people in suits wandering around. Off to the left is a window; behind it seems to be a recording room of sorts. Hoping the working people don’t accuse them of being another Team Rocket takeover, the ref signals to Blastoise to choose his next battler.

-Kergen didn’t stand a chance and fainted on action 1.

-I believe the order is supposed to go as such: Blastoise picks a Pokémon, then MF attacks since he would normally attack first on the next round, and then Blastoise can attack after that.

Arena damage is never enough, you referee with the same initials as Soul Silver.

Anyway, you can't very well go down before you explode something, Kong, so, let's put that Special Attack to good use: use Fire Blast, then Roar of Time and finally an Aeroblast.

Blastoise recalls his fallen Mankey to the safety of her pokéball, seemingly displeased with her performance and lack of utter destruction. Kergen’s replacement is revealed to be a Happiny by the name of Codegrah. Under normal circumstances, such a choice would be looked upon as rather odd, perhaps similar to the look of the radio tower’s workers as they observe what’s happening. Some of them flee for the stairs, while others are so dedicated to their work that they haven’t even looked up at the sound of the new arrivals. They will not soon forget this mistake.

Round 10

Kong grins evilly at his new opponent, thinking he should have little problems at least causing a large dent in her health before going down. The confidence is short-lived, however, as he remembers that the outcome is totally random. He growls in annoyance, and begins wagging his fingers. Codegrah watches him happily, imitating Kong’s hand movements. As it activates, Kong has a sudden urge to let out an angry roar at his opponent, and does so. The roar is rather weak, however, since Kong is feeling a little under the weather right now, and the Happiny (nor any of the dedicated radio tower employees) doesn’t even flinch at the sound. Her own Metronome activates just then, the Happiny seeming more startled to see her own hands glowing than from Kong’s roar. She launches into the air, looking more as if she were pulled rather than having jumped. Either way, her aim is accurate, and she lands directly on top of Kong, knocking him painfully off his feet. Codegrah giggles and struts back toward her original leaping point.

Kong stands back up and angrily triggers another Metronome. His hands glow purple as a corresponding colored ball of energy forms. The Metronome energy fuels the sparking purple blob, allowing it to grow to a respectable size before Kong hurls it across the room. The ball of energy causes papers to fly off their tables as it zooms by, before finally striking Codegrah. The Happiny again doesn’t even flinch, however, and she seems just about as un-phased as before. She happily waves her tiny hands again in response. They begin to take on an odd black aura and before long, they begin to spout a thick, black could of smoke that engulfs the clueless Happiny. She is completely obstructed from Kong’s view by the smoke, though he’s reasonably sure he knows where she was when she vanished. The radio tower’s smoke detectors begin going off, their annoying ringing echoing throughout the entire building. This causes the tower’s sprinklers to start showering the battlers, as well as everyone else in the entire tower, with water. Those workers dedicated to their jobs finally show signs of life as their computers and papers begin to spark and soak in the water, jumping up and running to the nearest exit.

The battlers don’t seem to even notice the commotion around them, however. As the fire sprinklers slowly douse the cloud of smoke, Kong begins to wag his fingers. His paws glow brown for a second before he thrusts his arm forwards, creating a horizontal vacuum of energy, dislodging even more papers as the energy whizzes by. The energy blasts through the completely unprepared Codegrah, who squeals as she is struck. Clearly not happy with being attacked, Codegrah triggers her own Metronome. It activates, and suddenly the whole area seems to shake. The building creaks as the pull of gravity on the entire building intensifies. On the upper floors, computers can be heard as the weight of the tables they were on collapses from under them. The water from the sprinklers begins to pour down harder, easily dispelling the smoke cloud now that it isn’t constantly reforming. Both Kong and Codegrah feel rather slow in the higher gravity as they look up in anticipation of the roof caving in.

-Kong’s moves: Roar, Shadow Ball, Vacuum Wave.
-Codegrah’s moves: Bounce, Smokescreen, Gravity.
-Current location: Floor 2 of the Radio Tower
-So, the A&A Guide said that roar’s effectiveness depends on if the opponent has to fear the user or not. I wouldn’t think a fresh Happiny would be shaking at the sight of a weakened Mankey, so I asked the RNG and it agreed that roar was ineffective.
-Not much else, really… the Radio Tower might collapse under its own weight, so we’ll see if we have to move.
-I’m sorry for the delay with this, it’s been an oddly hectic night. I was also multitasking about five different things while trying to write this, so please just let me know if there’s something you think I screwed up.

Round 11

Trying his best to ignore this new feeling of sluggishness and the pouring water, Kong wags his fingers. They take on a strange, light green glow, and the light forms into a sharp-looking point. Kong sprints forward obediently, albeit slower than normal, and jabs this light-horn into Codegrah. The Happiny rolls backwards into one of the soaking desks from the force. She is clearly less pleased now; whether due to the water or Kong’s lucky attack is unclear. She still hasn’t completely lost that cheerful attitude, though, as she wags her own tiny fingers. Her hands take on a bright blue light, a small wind gusting from them as they do so. The wind doesn’t harm Kong, though it does push the poisonous spikes at his feet closer to him. The wind also blows away the remains of the earlier smokescreen that the sprinklers didn’t dissipate already.

Kong starts another Metronome, shrugging off the wind. Again, the light, white this time, forms into the shape of a point, this one a much smaller one. Carefully stepping over the poisonous spikes, Kong charges across the room, slipping slightly on the water that is now beginning to puddle on the floor, and jabs Codegrah quickly, but harshly, and then retreating. The Happiny winces but doesn’t appear too hurt, and again waves her hands. The light doesn’t take any shape this time; instead, Codegrah reaches for the small stone in her stomach pouch. She aims carefully, to account for the stronger pull of gravity, and hurls the stone at Kong. It nails him squarely on the head, knocking him over. The stone, likewise, lands on the floor with a loud thud as Codegrah giggles with glee.

Kong angrily stands up again, carefully, to avoid the poison spikes, and then begins another Metronome. Both of his hands begin to glow more harshly, and he runs at Codegrah again. This time, though, he grabs her and tries to, quite literally, squeeze the life out of the little Happiny. She squeals, but still manages to wiggle her fingers again. Kong holds on until Codegrah’s hands begin to glow a light blue, when he decides it is a good idea to retreat. He does so too slowly, however, and is struck harshly by a barrage of chilling snow, emanating from Codegrah’s glowing hands. The freezing gust knocks him off his feet as he retreats, gravity pulling him painfully face-first into the ground.

Round 11 Notes
-Kong’s moves: Megahorn, Peck, Crush Grip.
-Codegrah’s moves: Defog, Fling, Powder Snow.
-In regards to the Bounce thing from last round… as far as I’m aware, such two-turn attacks as Fly, Dive, Dig, Bounce, etc. don’t have to be charged in ASB, unless that has changed. Back on the old forums, I reffed a Fly + Giga Impact combo that only took one action to perform. I prefer to do them as one-action moves, unless otherwise ordered, for the sake of speed. I could check with someone and correct this and the previous round’s damage and such, if you’d prefer.
-I forgot to mention that Gravity lasts for five actions. Since it was used at the end of the last round, three of the actions have been passed this round, so it will still be in effect for two more actions.
-For Fling, the A&A guide says the Oval Stone gave a base damage of 8, so I used that. I assume, even though it isn’t being held anymore, that Codegrah can still be evolved after this battle. As far as I know, the item can’t be used for the rest of the battle, though. I’ll have to ask about that.
-For Crush Grip: I wasn’t exactly sure how to figure out base damage, since it isn’t given. What I did was simply use Happiny’s health range for the base power. Since Happiny, on action 3 according to my calculations, was at 79%, Crush Grip had 7% base power.
-Again, not that it matters, but MF goes first.

That's a great fight you're putting up for someone about to drop, Kong, but I still see a nigh undamaged office and that displeases me.

Get on with the damn destruction.

Round 12

Almost in response to the trainer’s angry pleas for destruction, the whole tower shifts violently. The ref decides it’s time to abandon the building as a piece of the roof, complete with desk, falls down, narrowly missing Codegrah. Deciding that the underground portion of the city hasn’t had the pleasure of hosting the battle yet, this is the location to where the battlers are transported. Gravity remains strong down here as well, though the sturdy walls seem to be fairing better than the radio tower. Speaking of, a large rumble can be heard from above, proceeded by some falling dirt and pebbles from the underground’s ceiling, signals the collapse of said tower under the heavy gravity. The haircut brother who happens to be open today stares as the battlers turn to each other in a fighting stance before deciding he should probably get out of the way and cowers underneath his counter.

Kong takes a brief look around his surroundings before accepting them and tiredly wagging his fingers. His Metronome triggers with a dark blue glow, causing Kong to notice a strong urge to soak his opponent even further. He sprints over to a fountain and dives in, being nearly blinded by the thousands of coins tossed in by people over the years that currently reside at the bottom, before turning around an leaping back out, bringing a column of water with him. He immediately launches himself towards Codegrah, who had simply thought the Mankey had tried to drown himself, and rams her hard, soaking her with the water that he had dragged behind him. Codegrah groans as she shakes off what water she can before activating her own Metronome. It activates with a dark aura, though it has no visible effect. What no one can see, however, is that behind the Happiny’s deceivingly innocent face, her brain is working extra hard, bringing all new images of Mankey torture to her mind. She grins evilly at the thought of drowning the Mankey herself, but quickly realizes her mistake and resumes her cheerful posture.

Kong simply shrugs before triggering another random attack. His hand glows white, and in it forms the shape of a bottle. The glow then leaks a smooth, white liquid. Kong, seemingly disgusted, drinks the milk anyway and is instantly glad he did so. While he is revolted at the thought of drinking his own milk, he does indeed feel much better afterwards. This doesn’t go unnoticed by Codegrah, who drops her cheerful façade and begins her own random attack of doom. The move causes her hands to glow red, as well as her eyes. This red glow takes the form of a beam fired from her eyes, right at Kong. He simply closes his eyes, blinded a bit but otherwise unharmed. Both Pokémon look down as the red light fades, feeling much lighter all of a sudden as the extra force of the gravity dies out as well.

Kong smirks as his hands take on a brownish glow, another Metronome. The walls of the tunnel explode, rocks flying powerfully through them directly where the haircut brother had escaped from moments ago. With a wave of his glowing paw, Kong commands the boulders towards Codegrah. The Happiny squeals as the heavy rocks ram her tiny body, throwing her into the opposite wall. The ceiling begins to tremble ominously as the rocks fall to the ground, shattered, and Codegrah stands up angrily. She wags her own hands threateningly, and even as the glow intensifies, the Happiny charges towards Kong, jumping and ramming herself into him, slamming him into the shaky wall. She recoils backwards from the force, and stumbles back near her trainer, still grinning devilishly.

Round 12 Notes
-Kong’s moves: Dive, Milk Drink, Rock Slide.
-Codegrah’s moves: Nasty Plot, Foresight, Take Down.
-Current location: Center of the tunnel of the Goldenrod Underground.
-Kong got a second chance with Dive, apparently. I reffed it the same way I did the earlier Bounce, one-action, because I haven’t gotten a response for that question yet. Yey, consistency.
-Milk Drink recovered Kong’s health equal to 35%, the damage cap; it seems only logical to me.
-Blah blah Blastoise, blah blah attack mode, blah…
