blazheirio889 vs. Grass King

As an aside dude your avatar and user title are amazing.

Bahaha that's right no more ghosty for you, mister! How does the PHYSICAL REALM feel? Now that we can actually hit Ectoplasm with normal type moves, let's do just that. You seem to be in a pretty good mood; take advantage with Return. If he becomes a rock type... well, I suppose we'll have to stick with the ever-reliable Zen Headbutt. Also use it if Ectoplasm doesn't change type. If he tries to use Hypnosis or Confuse Ray, close your eyes quickly and give me another Substitute, at 10% this time.

Follow up with Flare Blitz and another Zen Headbutt. On the second action, if Ectoplasm is fire, water, or rock type, duhh... Wild Charge, I suppose. On the third action, if Ectoplasm is dark or psychic, Bug Bite. On both of these actions, if Ectoplasm uses Hypnosis or Confuse Ray, close your eyes and use Calm Mind.

Return/Zen Headbutt/Substitute (10%) ~ Flare Blitz/Wild Charge/Calm Mind ~ Zen Headbutt/Bug Bite/Calm Mind

Okay, Poison Jab him until he's poisoned. After that, use Venoshock.

Arena: Evolution Stone Cave

Our battle today takes place in the most sparkly, shiny, impossible place ever; the Evolution Stone Cave. The cave is pretty big, with enough space to comfortably fit a Wailord, and with a ring of deep water surrounding the arena. No Wailords are allowed, however. The thing that gets everyone about here though, is the millions and billions of bits of shiny evolution stones embedded in the ground, ceiling and walls. Though these bits are pretty small, if you took a piece out it wouldn't count as an evolution stone so don't try that. Also scattered around the cave are gems, all shining and glittering in some unknown source of light.

The pure power of the evolution stones is pretty concentrated here. Every round, the Pokemon have a 95% chance of changing types; from whatever type they are to either Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Rock, Dark, Ice, Psychic or Ghost. All abilities of the Pokemon remain the same, ghosts can still phase or turn invisible, flying types can still fly. All effects dispel after the end of the round.

Round V Start

Once more, as the referee waved his flag, the cave itself shone to life and engulfed the battlers in light. In seconds, Chimera’s horns and body turned into a dazzling yellow, and her mane started to give off sparkles of static electricity. Meanwhile, Ectoplasm’s now not-so gaseous body had became light-blue and intensely cold – the water molecules around him were freezing solid and a small layer of snow was visible under him.

The physical realm was definitely unsuited for the ghost; he was feeling all heavy all of a sudden, so… physical. He looked at his hands, which were now made out of thick ice, and felt the urge to beat the hell out of Chimera with them. Accumulating poison on the tip of its fingers, he floated over the Larvesta and began to describe circles around her, thus preventing any escape, and powerfully stabbed her on the side. Ectoplasm’s venom-filled hand dug into her unprotected belly, and the poison began flow in her circular system. She squeaked in pain and scurried away, desperately (and in vain) trying to suck the poison out. When her wound felt a little better, she mustered the little confidence she had left and jumped forward, smacking Ectoplasm. The weak hit only did little more than amuse the Haunter.

Without letting his foe recover for too long, Ectoplasm opened his mouth wide and spitted a volley of minuscule venomous stings, and they flew to Chimera like arrows. Without anything else to do, she quickly curled up as the barbs landed and penetrated her skin. The sensation was no different from being put in freezing water, and as the stings reacted with the poison flowing in her veins and causing searing pain, she cried out and violently burst out in fire. Her entire body was giving off large flames and eyebrow-burning heat, and before anybody could make a move she was running towards Ectoplasm. Confident his newly freezing skin wouldn’t react well to the attack, he tried to escape, floating up in hope of reaching inaccessible heights. Foreseeing the maneuver, she jumped up like a rocket on steroids and hit the Haunter from below. He was sent flying up until he reached the vault, hit it and began his long fall down. Chimera landed on her six legs with grace, and a few seconds later her opponent followed her, heavily landing on the face.

After a moment, he floated up again jerkily, holding a bleeding wound with his two hands. Gaseous blood was slipping from between his fingers, forming crimson wisps of smoke. From his blazing glare, it was quite noticeable that he was really, really mad. Once again, he fired off a volley of stings that dug into the Larvesta and burned her from inside, making her shiver in pain. She forced herself to calm, though. The last thing to do when in a serious battle was to let her fear possess her. Her forehead glowed in a well-known pink, and she charged Ectoplasm. The Haunter was getting very used to this attack, however, and, foreseeing her movements, cleverly floated sideways and avoided the insect completely. Chimera, startled by her foe’s tricky move, couldn’t stop in time and literally hit a wall. She lowered her head in shame – Ectoplasm’s mocking grin wasn’t helping her at all.

Notes:

- This round, Chimera turned into an Electric-type, and Ectoplasm into an Ice-type.
- Poison Jab was a critical hit, and its effect activated. Ouch.
- At first, Chimera was feeling very confident, but after the bad luck from Poison Jab, she kind of lost hope or something, so I set Return's power to 50.
- Zen Headbutt missed. Geezus, blazhy, what have you done to the RNG g*SHOT*
- By the way, the battle description doesn’t specify is the style is switch or set, so it will be set by default.

Arena Notes:

- Some walls are scorched black by the Overheat.
- Chunks of rocks are missing on the walls from the substitutes.

Next Round:

- Grass King orders first.

Okay Chill, Venoshock, Chill. If she protects on the second action then Chill then and move Venoshock back to the third action, but if she prtoects on the second and third actions, then Chill on both.

OKAY Just realized I read Grass King's commands wrong so I shall recommand...!

Chimera, you did an amazing job. We'll just take down Ectoplasm and rest, alright? Take advantage of that poison and use Facade. If Ectoplasm is rock type, use Bug Bite instead.

If you used Facade on the last action, finish Ectoplasm off with Flame Wheel, unless he's fire or water type, in which case use, um. Another Facade I guess. If you used Bug Bite on the previous action, U-Turn should be just enough to finish him off. You may as well U-Turn into Polychaeta, since I was planning to use her anyway.

And if on the third action Ectoplasm hasn't fainted, Chill because you'll probably be dead of teh energies otherwise and I'm too lazy to think anymore. OTL

Facade/Bug Bite ~ Flame Wheel/Facade/U-Turn (Polychaeta) ~ Chill

Just a quick question: Can Wyrmal actually survive out of water? From my arena description at the beginning, there is a deep enough water source to contain it (even though I'm not even sure it was supposed to be there in the first place) but it would be useful to know, as its movements could be restricted on land since it is built for submarine life.

EDIT:
Kratos Aurion said:
As far as I can tell all water-types can survive out of water, so no, it won't just flop around gasping for oxygen if Blazhy doesn't send it out in the pool. It's more a question of mobility than anything else. It would be able to move around more than something like a goldeen or a magikarp, but not as well as something like an ekans or even a gyarados/milotic; it'd be pretty sluggish, I imagine. It's not all that fast a swimmer to begin with anyway.

Ugh. I guess that means Ectoplasm is a Rock-type, yes? Anyway, even if it can survive out of water, I'll send Polychaeta out into the pool. Sorry for not specifying that.

Round VI Start

Once more, and for the last time for one of the battlers, the walls of the cave lightened up to life and engulfed the two Pokémon in their golden shimmer, shifting their form in a bizarre and as yet unexplainable gene manipulation. Chimera, weirdly, didn’t change color this time, but a near invisible pink veil of energy rose around her, and her eyes gleamed in a disturbing violet. Ectoplasm, meanwhile, was transforming completely; his gaseous body was now a blinding yellow and shedding sparks, as if it was made out of pure energy.

Panting, the plasma entity glared at his foe – he would take it out soon, but not just yet. With only a ridiculous amount of energy left, it was not the time to fool around firing off attacks, only to lose consciousness seconds after that. But still, the idea of giving his foe a blatant opening to attack was not pleasing him at all. Reluctantly, he close his eyes and tried to clear his mind of any disturbing thought, and his entire being shone in a creamy white light, as he regained enough energy to finally take his foe down.

Chimera wasn’t seeing it that way, though – and she was pretty confident she wouldn’t run out of energy. Letting the poison seep in her, using the pain as a fuel, she threw herself to Ectoplasm and battered him with all her possible might, using every part of her body available to hurt the Haunter. He levitated backwards awkwardly, trying to escape from Chimera’s grasp, and after a moment of thrashing, he found the force to push her away from him. He gazed at her, panting erratically, and the Larvesta ran towards him for another round, but this time cloaking herself in fire. Startled, he raised his hands before him and released another volley of tiny poisonous needles that flew towards Chimera, sinking in her skin like it was butter, unleashing a violent reaction in her bloodstream. It was too late to stop her, though, and finally she collided with a sickening “thud”, engulfing the Haunter in flames and smoke.

As she landed painfully and panting, the smoke faded and revealed the inanimate Haunter, lying face first and unconscious on the ground. She had a timid smile of joy, but as the poison burned her insides once more, she found that victory to be quite bitter.

Oh wow what. Larvesta outspeeds Kecleon.

Great job, Chimera! We'll see if I can scrape enough EXP out of my other Pokemon to get you another rare candy after this, and you'll be a big, beautiful moth! Attack Espionage with Bug Bite until you faint (probably won't take long). If he uses a priority attack, Protect to stall because we can.

Pre-Round

Grass King briefly searches for his next soldier in his bag, and grins as his hand grasps the Safari Ball he was looking for. He gets up quickly and, with as much flippancy as a human could possibly muster, throws it in the middle of the scorched battlefield, and it cracks open. A Kecleon bursts out of the usual sea of light, and she quickly scans the battlefield with her wild eyes, each one seemingly ignoring the other. The Kecleon shakes her head vigorously, trying to ignore the incredible amount of color on the walls, as well as the desire to alter her greenish tint into one of the fiery blue or crystalline red they exposed to her erratic gaze. Soon, though, she spots the half-dead Larvesta, and adopts a fighting stance, waiting for the referee to wave his flag. Again. Strenuous job isn’t it?

Round VII Start

In a flash, the cave lighted up again, and Espionage croaked in surprise (Croaked? Is it really the sound chameleons make? Idk, really. But let’s assume they do croak until somebody tells us otherwise) as her skin took on a rocky texture, and for the first time completely unrelated to her bizarre attribute. Chimera, meanwhile, unsurprisingly accepted her fate as the veil of energy created around her the malevolent aura she had experience before.

Espionage took a few seconds to calm down and get used to her new appearance, although the phenomenon wasn’t as new for her as it was for the battlers at the beginning of the match. After that, she concentrated on her foe. She stayed still for a moment, and in a flash jumped forward to reach the Larvesta. Startled, she rose up a green energy wall, and Espionage’s fist collided with it, leaving Chimera seemingly unscathed. She sighed in relief, and let the Protect fade. As soon as it began to shimmer, Espionage u-turned right through it, delivering a light swipe to the horrified Chimera. Of course, it was the last thing she needed to slip in unconsciousness, and… this is what she did, heavily falling on the side.

The referee waved his flag (another one this time, the first one was completely ragged up from air’s friction) and a red beam zapped out of Blazhy’s gaping mouth as she recalled her fainted soldier.
