Chaon vs superbird

That was unfortunate... hopefully this round will go better. I'll send out Valence.

[Valence] Ponyta(F)

Well than, Dokon. It's okay, Theod will be fine. For now, let's see if we can turn one win into two wins. First off, your energy is getting a bit low. Let's fix that. First, make a Substitute, and shoot for 15%. Next up, I want you to use Rest. This will make up for that lost health. Finally, just chill in your sleep. Sound simple?

Alright Valence, let's start by Fire Blasting that substitute! Then, Stomp the resting pokemon, and Stomp it again.

Fire Blast ~ Stomp ~ Stomp

After returning Theod to safety, Chaon selects his next fighter to try and take out Dokon. As another Pokéball clangs onto the raft, a Ponyta materializes in the desolate arena, her mane immediately flaring up. Upon seeing her bizarre surroundings, Valence flicks her ears and glances around nervously, carefully moving towards the center of the raft.
When the initial shock wears off, the Ponyta turns her attention to her opponent, her fiery tail swishing two and fro in a shower of embers.
Her hooves clatter noisily against the steel as she shifts about, much to Dokon's annoyance. Trying not to show how drained he feels, he slowly takes a fighting stance, glaring at his new fiery foe.

Round seven

As the battle kicks off again, Dokon hastily sets about making a substitute, trying to ignore the irritating sound of Valence’s hooves. While Dokon channels a stream of sizzling acid towards him, Valence shakes her blazing mane and snorts, her gaze locked on her opponent. The length of fire along her body suddenly flares up wildly, pouring out intense heat that leaves Dokon sweating with a mix of discomfort and fear. As Valence’s fire reaches its blazing peak, the Ponyta rears up on her hind legs, then abruptly clashes down again, unleashing a towering, kanji shaped blast of fire.
Dokon is forced to drop what he’s doing as the simmering heat washes over him and quickly engulfs him in the fiery blast. The Croagunk is knocked backwards by the force, and the fire dissipates in a painful shower of embers, leaving him twitching and smouldering on the scorched steel.
Slowly and gingerly, Dokon gets to his feet again, grimacing as he checks his body for any lingering burns. Although his skin feels raw, there doesn’t appear to be any badly scorched spots, and Dokon is thankful that his skin isn’t quite as dry as others of his kind.
Still wincing, he turns back to his unfinished work, and slowly begins moulding the acid into something vaguely Croagunk shaped. He then solidifies the creation with some globs of venom before standing back to view his work.
The faux-Croagunk stares back blankly as small sparks of light flare up in its lop-sided eye sockets. Not quite perfect, but it should get the job done.

Upon hearing the sound of Valence’s hooves again, Dokon hastily turns to face her, trying to ignore the lingering pain of the fire.
Valence narrows her eyes and paws the ground before charging towards Dokon, her hooves banging harshly against the steel. Dokon quickly backs away behind his substitute as he tries to get himself to relax and concentrate on healing. As Dokon closes his eyes, Valence closes the gap between them in one graceful leap and lands forcefully on the misshapen substitute that has barred her way. She snorts and shakes her mane in irritation at the doppelganger’s interference; quickly backing away from the now rather squashed looking creation.
As she turns towards Dokon, she is surprised to see that he appears to be locked in some sort of trance. His body glows a light blue as the scorch marks and cuts begin to fade away, leaving the skin looking as good as new. However, the process seems to visibly take it's toll on Dokon, as he slowly sinks down to the ground, a look of pained concentration on his face. The blue light surrounding him abruptly begins to fade, before completely flickering out of existence, leaving a horribly weary looking Croagunk weaving drunkenly on the spot. Valence looks on in puzzlement as she sees her foe suddenly keel over, free from burn and claw marks but looking utterly drained of energy and will.

Alright Valence! Let's stay on the offensive! First, Stomp! Then, Fire Spin! And then, Overheat!

However, if he protects. drop what you are doing, and use Agility.

Stomp/Agility ~ Fire Spin/Agility ~ Overheat/Agility

Well...Remember your last battle? The problem with that one was that we were too slow. Let's fix that with Rock Polish. After that, it's time to whittle down that Ponyta. Even though you resist Overheat it's still going to be a threat—use Captivate next to lessen the effect. (Also, it softens Fire Spin.) Finally, I want you to go for some good ol' damage, with Rock Blast.

Rock Polish~Captivate~Rock Blast

After disappointedly recalling the drained Dokon, Superbird is quick to send out his next fighter. The thrown Pokéball bursts open on the center of the raft, releasing Gorouna the Geodude. The floating rock narrows her eyes at her foe, and Valence tries to return the stern look, wondering how Geodudes can go so long without blinking.
Gorouna's expression soon changes as she inspects her environment however, and she looks very displeased at the vast amount of water compared to the small patch of land. This is going to be difficult to work with...

Round eight

Valence paws the ground, eyeing her new rocky foe warily. With a snort and a flick of her mane, she dashes towards Gorouna, her hooves clanging loudly against the steel. Gorouna remains floating impassively, though she does tense up a little as the Ponyta rears up on her hind legs in preparation to strike. Valence brings her two front hooves banging down harshly on Gorouna’s tough body, drawing a small grunt of surprise from the Geodude.
However, Gorouna seems relatively unfazed by the impact, and simply begins to carry out her own commands as soon as the disappointed Valence backs away. She begins to hammer her arms against the tough steel, breaking off the excess shards of rock coating her body.
When she’s finished, her rocky hide looks considerably more stream-lined and less craggy. She punches the air a few times to test her new found ease of movement, looking pleased with the results.

Valence circles Gorouna for a moment, eyeing her opponent’s altered form curiously. She then snorts dismissively as her mane and tail flare up again, spitting out hot sparks. A swirling line of fire spirals out from her mane and surrounds the Geodude in a burning twister.
Gorouna cringes a little as the heat washes over her, but the biting flames do little to harm her tough hide. She squints through the fiery coils and can just about make out her opponent’s form shimmering in the flames. She moves forward apprehensively, looking very awkward as she tries to catch the Ponyta’s attention. Her earlier calm demeanor soon vanishes as she tries out a few stuttering words of praise and tries to make herself look impressive, despite the flames obscuring her view.
Valence looks on in puzzlement. What on earth is that Geodude doing? She watches for a moment, tilting her head quizzically and stamping her hooves.
She quickly becomes bored of Gorouna’s odd behaviour however and turns away with a snort and a flick of her tail. Gorouna takes that as her cue to give up, and her arms drop to her sides as she looks down in embarrassment. That didn’t go over well…

When Valence turns back she’s pleased to see Gorouna looking impassive. She stares at the swirling flames around her foe, noting that they already see to be losing power. Narrowing her eyes, the Ponyta lowers her head and concentrates on summoning up all the fire power she can muster.
The line of flames along her neck and spine suddenly flare up again with even more intensity than before, roaring with intense heat. Gorouna snaps back to attention when she sees the Ponyta rear up on her hind legs with a loud cry, fire pouring off her body in waves. The Geodude instinctively covers her face with her arms as Valence unleashes the pent up inferno, engulfing Gorouna in the white hot flames.
Gorouna remains in the same stance as the fire pours over her and doesn't look up until the flow of fire finally ceases. The length of fire down Valence's back simmers down to a weak smolder as the Ponyta falls onto the cold steel, panting heavily.
Gorouna slowly moves her arms away, remaining wary despite her opponent's weakened state. A few stray flames still flicker stubbornly on the ground, but the inferno has died and so has the twister of flames. Her rocky hide looks slightly blackened now, but considering the intensity of the attack, she's pretty sure she got off pretty lightly. She'd really like to take advantage of Valence's exhaustion right now, but unfortunately.... She quickly scans the barren arena, already knowing it's hopeless, and looks distastefully at the large stretch of bizarre ocean. No rocks in sight to use as ammunition... Now she really doesn't like this place.

I am officially a total idiot. I'm sorry, Gorouna.

Well well well. You've got the type advantage here, and that little girl is just tiring herself out. Now that her Special Attack is down, she's probably going to come after you with physical attacks; or weakened Special attacks. I want you to use Bulk Up first. that will set the stage for your next attack; Rollout. That should do the trick quite nicely, as long as you (and I strongly suspect you can) can steer yourself away from the edges of the raft. Now for the conditionals. There are still three possible threats to your well-being that this thing could throw at you. The first is Solarbeam; If it tries to do that, use Protect, but not twice in a row. Then, there's Double Kick and Iron Tail. If either of those comes up, also Protect, but again, not twice in a row. Finally, if it uses Hypnosis, use Sleep Talk.

Bulk Up/Protect/Sleep Talk ~ Rollout/Protect/Sleep Talk ~ Rollout/Protect/Sleep Talk

You tuckered yourself out pretty well there. Take the first round to Chill. Then, when she Rolls Out the first time, Protect. The second time, simply jump to the side. She shouldn't be able to see very well while she's curled up into a ball, and even if she could, turning would be difficult.

Round nine

With her flames still smouldering weakly, Valence settles down for a quick break, trying to make herself as comfortable as possible on the cold steel.
As she rests, the irked looking Gorouna begins to flex her arms, channelling power through her small but heavy form. Her rocky body becomes noticeably more bulkier as she does so, and the end result makes her look surprisingly imposing.

With a slight yawn and a shake of her considerably fierier mane, Valence suddenly leaps upright again. Her weary expression is quickly replaced by a look of caution as she sees the bulked up Geodude opposite her start to back up in preparation to attack.
Although still irritated about the limitations imposed on her from the battle spot, Gorouna is pleased that she still has at least one practical attack to spare. She wraps her arms around her head then barrels through the air towards her foe. Valence is quick to react; she stamps a hoof onto the steel and creates a shimmering, translucent shield that flares up protectively around her.
Gorouna slams into the protect shield with a strangely noiseless but harsh looking impact and is sent flailing backwards. She’s knocked out of her protective roll up and sent landing on the floor with a surprised look on her face. Her expression quickly darkens however when she sees the reason for her failed attack, and she grumbles to herself as she floats up again.
With the threat gone for the moment, Valence lets her shield drop, but retains her alert look.

Undeterred by her failure though still looking very annoyed, Gorouna rolls up into a protective ball again and barrels forward.
As she makes a bee-line toward Valence, the Ponyta tenses up, then nimbly leaps aside just before Gorouna can strike. The Geodude continues her reckless course, rocketing over the seething acid and saved only by her ability to float. As she feels the burning fumes against her skin, Gorouna quickly unrolls, looking alarmed. She hastily floats back to the safety of the raft, feeling slightly dazed and frustrated at the evasive Ponyta.
The evasive Ponyta herself is still looking quite cautious and aware of her near miss. The weak embers of her mane and tail are now blazing brightly again however, and she's glad to have that little boost at least.

Oh, loopholes. Gorouna, we're so going to win this. Let's have that Ponyta use Protect as many times in a row as humanly possible, so let's start with the easiest possible attack, Tackle. Follow up with Magnitude, then when the third action comes and the ponyta can't hold up the Protect, let's finish with the all-powerful Earthquake! If for some reason Magnitude and Earthquake are disallowed or won't work on this arena (I can't imagine why they wouldn't,; it's not listed in the arena description), than substitute them with two Focus Punches.

Round ten

With her mane flaring up again, the rejuvenated Valence cautiously eyes the enraged Geodude, waiting to see what she’ll do.
Gorouna backs up a few paces then launches herself forward in a full body tackle. Once again, Valence is quick to react, and draws up another shimmering, translucent shield. This one is more unsteady than the first, and it flickers and wavers before Valence can stabilize it.
Gorouna is unable to stop herself in time and ends up rebounding harmlessly off the shield. The Geodude lets out an irritated grunt, but is pleased to see that Valence's protect is losing strength.

Valence moves around the centre of the raft, once again keeping her gaze firmly on Gorouna. All this waiting and watching is making her even more nervous, and she isn’t sure how much longer she can keep these protective shields going. The Ponyta swishes her tail, throwing a few fiery sparks onto the scorched steel as she slowly paces around.
Gorouna closes her eyes and clenches her fist, and within moments she appears lost in deep concentration. Her body then begins to glow with an intense aura of fighting energy as the Geodude maintains and builds up her focus. Valence twitches nervously as she sees the wild aura flaring up around her foe, and she hastily takes a defensive stance, readying herself against the incoming danger.
Finally, Gorouna lunges forward with both arms drawn back, ready to deliver the powerful strike. Valence rears back in alarm, then draws up another defensive shield as quick as she can. This shield wavers in and out of focus even worse than the previous, and Valence is noticeably under a lot of strain trying to maintain it.
At first it looks like Gorouna's punch is going to connect, but Valence manages to stabilize her defense at the last second, and Gorouna's momentum abruptly slows to a stand-still. Gorouna blinks dumbly for a few moments, then lets her arms drop as she struggles to keep her cool. She can't lose it now, she just has to be patient.

Valence hangs her head, panting a little as she contemplates her near miss. That Geodude is seriously determined. All these near misses are really leaving her nerves frayed.
She grimaces as little as she raises her head, and is dismayed to see Gorouna preparing another strike. The aura of fighting energy once again flares up around the Geodude as she closes her eyes and takes a fighting stance. Valence remains in the centre of the raft, her gaze locked on her opponent. She remains still, apart from a nervous twitch or flick of her tail. As the aura surrounding Gorouna reaches its peak, she lunges forward again with a determined roar.
Valence tries to summon up another protective shield, but only manages to create a weak ripple in the air. Panicked, the Ponyta rears up and stamps her hooves, desperately trying to draw power, but Gorouna's punch abruptly connects with tremendous force. Valence is sent sprawling, her legs flailing wildly as she careens across the raft. Gorouna raises her arms triumphantly, glad to have finally took the wind out of her opponent's sails.
Valence neighs in pain, before shakily getting back up, and staggers around a little before she manages to get her balance back. She's far from out, but that vicious punch was definitely an unpleasant surprise.

Round eleven

Valence takes a moment to test her limbs, then rears up and takes off in a gallop. Grouna watches her closely; waiting to see what all Valence’s running around will amount to.
Her question is soon answered when the air begins to ripple and distort in Valence’s wake, and two illusionary copies of the Ponyta trail behind her. Valence slows down to a trot, before coming to a halt, and her copies follow suit.
Gorouna looks at each of the three Ponyta facing her, trying to find any differences between them, but the illusions are perfect. They’re not even translucent or anything…
The Geodude can feel frustration beginning to set in again at Valence’s evasive tactics, but she’s determined not to let it get the best of her. She takes a familiar fighting stance, and her body begins to glow with an intense fighting aura as she concentrates.
Valence looks on nervously; she knows that aura only too well. She can only hope Gorouna falls for her illusions.
When the aura surrounding Gorouna reaches the peak of its intensity, she unleashes the pent up energy in one mighty punch. The three Ponytas rear back, looking frightened, but the Ponyta Gorouna punches is wiped out of existence upon contact. Gorouna’s eyes widen in surprise and she stumbles awkwardly through the air as her target unexpectedly vanishes.

When she regains her balance, Gorouna arms drop down again as she scowls at the two remaining Ponytas. However, she’s positive Valence’s luck can only hold out for so long; the last round was a good indicator of that. So she remains floating in the air, watching to see what Vlaence’s next move is.
…Which turns out to be nothing. Valence simply settles down on the steel, tucking her legs underneath her as she makes herself comfortable. Her fiery mane also simmers down a little as she chills out, though she still looks understandably nervous at being a sitting duck (or horse in this case).
Gorouna is determined to take the opportunity to land some serious hurt, and she clenches her fists again and concentrates. After using the move so much she’s really starting to get the hang of it, though she’s definitely beginning to feel the strain as well. She continues to concentrate, drawing upon her fighting spirit, before she once again unleashes the powerful punch with a determined roar. This time, the Ponyta she targets doesn’t vanish, and instead lets out a cry of pain as Gorouna’s attack makes contact with real flesh.
The fake Valence shimmers briefly before disappearing as soon as its creator is hit, and Valence is sent tumbling over the cold steel of the raft.
Gorouna grins triumphantly, if somewhat wearily, as she sees her opponent’s shocked and pained look. Success!

Valence moves slowly and gingerly, but doesn't make any attempt to stand upright. She remains on the floor of the raft, but rolls over into a more comfortable position once again, wincing as she does so. Shivering a little, she tries to calm herself down and relax again, but she can't help but feel vulnerable just sitting here like this.
She has good reason to worry, as an aura of fighting energy flares up around Gorouna for the third time, and the Geodude lapses into deep concentration.
Valence grimaces and bows her head, trying to prepare herself for the incoming attack. However, she can't help but look up when she hears Gorouna utter a loud, determined roar, and she is soon sent reeling as her opponent connects with another vicious punch.

Round twelve

Valence is looking more than a little unsteady after the pummeling she received last round, but she eventually manages to right herself and face her opponent. The line of fire along her back flares up again, blazing and crackling wildly as she builds up fire power and begins to move forward gingerly on her aching limbs. Gorouna begins to grow a bit nervous as the heat from the fire washes over her, but she stands her ground.
Valence rears up and shakes her blazing mane fiercely, then sends the pent up flames raging towards Gorouna in a kanji shape. The fire blast strikes Gorouna dead on, dispersing in a tremendous shower of embers and cloaking the Geodude in its fiery rage.
When the blaze dies away, Gorouna’s rocky form is left looking even more blackened than before, but the Geodude doesn’t appear overly concerned. In fact, she’s wearing a smug grin on her face. Valence’s ears perk up as her opponent abruptly begins to mock her pathetic display of fire power, then launches into a tirade about how she’s been dominating this whole match.
Valence stands bolt upright, her aches and pains forgotten as she fumes over Gorouna’s gloating. The Ponyta furiously stomps her hooves and shakes her mane, and the line of fire along her spine flares up fiercely. Gorouna backs away a little at Valence’s display of rage, not liking the raising temperature.

Valence is literally seeing red, she just can’t believe that stupid rock head could be so… brazen! She continues tossing her head and twitching in agitation, her mind clouded by anger. She eventually loses control of her temper completely and charges forward, her mane pouring out angry sparks.
Gorouna freezes in surprise, hardly believing her opponent’s sudden loss of composure. When she tries to dodge, she's a little too late; the raging Ponyta is already upon her. However, in her current state, Valence’s reckless charge is less than co-ordinated, and she ends up tripping over herself in her rush to teach that show-off a lesson.
Gorouna lets out a muffled cry as her flailing opponent tumbles into her and knocks her backwards. She’s more surprised than hurt however, and Valence appears to be a bit worse off. The Ponyta is lying on the steel in a tangle of limbs, with an extremely foul look on her face.
Gorouna backs away a bit from her angry foe, then wraps her arms around her small body and curls herself up in a protective ball. She feels quite a bit safer from her opponent’s vicious glare this way, so she barrels forward with gusto. She rams into the downtrodden Ponyta, drawing an angry cry of pain from her, then rebounds and begins rolling around the edge of the raft.

Valence is seemingly oblivious to the state she's in, her attention is fixed solely on her infuriating opponent. She staggers upright again, ignoring her pain, and rushes forward in another mad charge. Unfortunately, the result is even worse than before, she ends up missing Gorouna completely, and she falls in a heap while the Geodude zips past her.
As the Ponyta lies in a confused mess, Gorouna takes the opportunity to give her another full body tackle, hampering her efforts to return upright.
Valence cries out, and thrashes around dazedly. She looks slightly calmer after her disastrous attempts at venting her anger, and even somewhat abashed at her loss of composure. She groans and shakes her head, struggling to regain control of herself. The Geodude's gloating words are still echoing around her head, but she doesn't feel like going on another ill-fated charge attack at least.
