Arena: A field in Holon

A flat, almost completely so, green, thriving field in a supposedly fictional region. Encircling where the battlers will be are odd glowing stones, of a hue of every colour imaginable. Strangely, there are only seventeen stones, though these shift colour every now and then.

There is a legend in Holon, about Pokemon that are not the types they should be, like Psychic Vileplumes or Electric Pidgeots. For a while, this has been only a legend, until such Pokemon where actually found. In Holon, this field is a national park, though small, so destruction is frowned upon, though for whatever reason, Trainers may come to battle, or watch battles here every once in a while.

Not a very smart idea, on the government's part.

Every round, there is an 80% chance of the battling Pokemon spontaneously changing types. Their weaknesses, resistances, and STAB are not the only things that change, however, the Pokemon is coated in an aura of the colour of the type they have changed into, red for Fire, for example, that has a 20% chance of doing 1% damage of whatever type the aura is on contact. These changes fade at the end of each round, though the next round there is still an 80% of a type change. What type the Pokemon changes into is up to the referee.

On the side, there is a small pond for aquatic Pokemon, about twenty feet square and seven meters deep.

Based on the TCG.

With hardly a moment’s hesitation, Involuntary Twitch fastened Sarae’s Pokeball back onto her belt and took another one. There was a burst of white light as Twitch threw the red-and-white sphere, and Phanel the Kadabra materialized from the Pokeball. He stretched his arms before looking around the arena with a clinical interest. Meanwhile, Ed’s face had broken out in a ridiculous grin when he heard his trainer promise an imminent evolution.

For the umpteenth time this battle, the seventeen stones started mixing up their colours in flashes of light and dark. Phanel, new to the arena, watched them curiously for a few seconds before turning away, his head spinning. After several more moments half of the stones turned a pale sky blue, while the other half took on a colour that actually made them look like normal rocks. Ed and Phanel started glowing sky blue and grayish-brown, respectively. A few seconds after that, Ed inexplicably rose up about a foot in the air, albeit still on his side. The piranha thrashed for a few seconds before realizing the strange force wouldn’t let go anytime soon.

After the battling Pokemons’ types were changed, Phanel was the first to move. He crossed his spoons in front of his face and squeezed his eyes shut in concentration. Immediately, there was a shimmer in the air around the Kadabra, which quickly solidified into a translucent golden dome. Phanel’s eyes remained closed even when the Reflect stopped flickering, though, as though making sure it didn’t collapse on itself when he divided his concentration. Ed took advantage of this pause and started coughing and hacking horribly. Once again he located harmful toxins spread out through his body and forced them into his mouth, pulling a face at the taste of the sludge. He twisted around and attempted to get a good angle at which to spit the Toxic at Phanel, but gave up after a few seconds. Floating was hard on a fish. Instead he remained levitating on his side and wildly spat the attack at his opponent, praying that it would hit. By pure luck it sailed through the air, wobbly but true, and hit Phanel square in the forehead. The Kadabra grunted in surprise and pain and tried to wipe away the purple liquid, but the fast-acting toxins had already seeped through his skin and into his flesh. Ed grinned triumphantly, but suddenly jerked violently to the side; Phanel's extraordinary psychic powers had subconciously balanced out the two battlers' physical state, causing the Carvanha to experience the discomfort of his own toxins

Deciding that he could do nothing about the Toxic, Phanel shook out his arms and cupped his spoons together. Several seconds later, the faint pop and crackle of electricity could be heard; with a smirk, the Kadabra let his spoons snap back and release the potent ball of electricity that had formed inside the small hollow formed by his cutlery. The little hissing orb stayed like that for a split second more before violently exploding outward, sweeping the entire arena and flooding all nearby Pokemon with a burning sensation. Two foraging Pidgey, a Rattata, and not to mention Ed himself all shrieked in unison as the fizzling streamers wrapped around them before flicking off and dissipating. Despite the fact that he was a Water-type no longer, Ed felt the same pain he would’ve felt if he hadn’t switched types. Trying to push the pain out of his mind, he lowered her internal body temperature until it was just a hair above freezing. Then, twisting around so his large mouth pointed at Phanel, he opened his jaws in a terrifying display of gleaming white teeth and exhaled a mighty breath. Because Ed’s body temperature was so low, the exhalation blew over Phanel in a flurry of snowflakes and ice crystals and actually left a thin coat of ice on a few parts of his body. The Kadabra shivered, suddenly feeling less mobile and nimble.

Even with the speed decrease from the Icy Wind, though, Phanel was still faster than Ed by a long shot. Once again, he cupped his spoons together and drew static from the atmosphere, forming it into an erratic ball. Once he was satisfied, he jerked his arms back and let the electricity burst outwards in a wave of pulsating energy. Ed bit back a yell when the attack flooded him with electrical power, causing his muscles to spasm until the wave had passed.

As the electricity slowly left Ed’s body, it was replaced by a dark rage. No matter what type the glowing stones changed him, his opponents always managed to target his weakness! Not to mention he didn’t appreciate getting his body flooded with electricity. He was a fish, damnit, a fish! You just don’t electrocute fish! Angrily he wreathed his body with a bitter, shadowy aura, which writhed and reached out towards Phanel, almost giddy with the prospect of revenge. In the blink of an eye, Ed had thrashed his way through the air towards his opponent and was now gnashing ferociously at any limb he could get at with his teeth. The golden dome around Phanel was difficult to pass through, thus making the attack significantly less powerful, but no less vicious. The dark energy surrounding the fish was aiding in the cruel, unrelenting assault, lashing at Phanel at every chance it got, the blows made powerful by Ed’s wrath. Eventually the piranha was too tired to keep up the onslaught, but the damage was considerable: Phanel was now wide-eyed and backing away slightly, cringing from his new cuts and bruises.

Daaaamn. Maybe we can faint him and get four exp instead haha no

I'd say we should go out with a big, effing bang, amirite, Ed? Let's begin and end with DRACO METEOR a nice STAB'DEDED Hydro Pump/Aqua Jet! Uh, propel yourself forwards with the Aqua Jet to give him a nice, epic Hydro Pump in the face. Use Chill if you're still alive after that, or if he tries to Protect/Detect or dodge your watery wrath in any way. If you Chill the first action use Hydro Pump+Aqua Jet the second, and so on. Once you've used Hydro Pump+Aqua Jet, Chill if you're still alive after that, to recap.

Hydro Pump+Aqua Jet/Chill x3

And then you can have a rest, since you most likely'll be dead after this round. Try not to think too much of it. :3

Teleport away as soon as he begins the attack combo. If that doesn't use up all his energy in one go, then hit him with an Energy Ball. Otherwise, Calm Mind twice.

...We'll deal with this poison thing later; it shouldn't be too much of a problem now.

Teleport ~ Calm Mind/Energy Ball ~ Calm mind/Energy Ball

((Btw, um, Synchronize? And would it carry over to the next Pokemon she sends out?))

Awww, pfft, fail. I forgot about Synchronize. I'll edit that in now (Not like it'll make much of a difference, but).

And no, it won't carry over, since Synchronize only affects the Pokemon who inflicted the status condition.

Following a very predictable cycle, the stones started changing their colours rapidly as soon as the referee had announced the start of another round. Both battlers glared at each other for the few seconds the rocks took to decide a colour, Ed’s glare much more fatigued than Phanel’s. Finally, half the rocks, as well as Ed himself, took on a sickly dark purple glow, while the other half of the boulders turned a fuchsia. Phanel made a surprised sound when he realized that he had no weird, coloured aura.

No use dwelling on that, though. The Kadabra turned his attention on Ed once more, who was puffing up his cheeks comically with a large volume of water. Suddenly, the fish disappeared and Phanel grunted in shock. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a red and blue blur. It was rocketingtowardshimathighspeedsohshittt – Phanel desperately tried to gather the psychic energy to teleport, but Ed was far too fast. The fish slammed into him, immediately executed a half-turn in midair, water droplets spinning away from his scales, and spat an incredible amount of water in a high-pressure jet… right next to Phanel’s head. The Kadabra screeched in alarm and disappeared in a flash of iridescent colours, but there was no need. Ed was so tired that he couldn’t even finish his final attack. With a resigned sigh, the Carvanha plopped back down on the ground, water still dripping from his jaws, and didn’t stir. Phanel reappeared again, a few feet from where he first was, still tense, but relaxed when he saw that his opponent had fainted from exhaustion. Then he twitched violently as the poison in his system reminded him of its presence, digging a burning claw in his insides.

I’ve edited in the Synchronize from last round.
Ed turned into a Poison-type, while Phanel stayed a Psychic type.
Since you can’t really combine Aqua Jet and Hydro Pump, I had Ed execute them in quick succession. However, that also means I rolled the die for accuracy for both of them. Therefore, Aqua Jet hit, but Hydro Pump missed.
Also, Phanel couldn’t Teleport away from Aqua Jet since it’s a priority move. If Hydro Pump hit I would’ve had Phanel Teleport away in the middle of it, but since it missed… *shrug*

All right, Phanel. Start things off with a Taunt; if he protects/dodges it, switch to a Calm Mind. Next, Thunder Wave, or if he's become ground-type then Shadow Ball. Then Psychic or Ice Punch if you see that he's weak to Ice.

Taunt/Calm Mind ~ Thunder Wave/Shadow Ball ~ Psychic/Ice Punch

^Storm's feeeeemale D:

Let him Taunt you, it's fine for now, we'll come up with something for that later. Probably. Here's to hoping that his -1 Speed will.. nah.

Let's start with a Dragon Claw, and then Aerial Ace out of the way of Thunder Wave as it approaches. If Taunt doesn't let you do that, go with Facade! If you're ground type, good fer you! and Aerial Ace him anyways. Shadow Claw if he's weak to it, Natural Gift if not.

After going out with a spectacular, albeit inaccurate, bang, Ed the Carvanha was returned to his Pokeball. After a few moments of considering her next choice, Dragon took another Pokeball from her belt and threw it, the two halves of the sphere separating to let a burst of white light surge forth. From the luminescence emerged a short, premature-looking dragon, who immediately gaped her jaws open in a gigantic yawn. Phanel eyed his new opponent with suspicion, but relaxed slightly when he realized it wasn’t another killer piranha out for his blood.

Phanel quickly glanced at the seventeen stones and breathed an inward sigh of relief when he saw that none were changing colour. Then, before Storm had even finished her luxurious stretch, he started bellowing any and all insults he could think of at her.

“Are you kidding me?” he yelled. “Here I was hoping for a good battle, and the only things I get to fight are a half-dead fish and a midget of a dragon.” Instantly Storm snapped her head to her opponent’s direction. She was not short!

“Hell, I’m more than twice your size!” Phanel went on. “I could probably sit on you until you stopped breathing, and win that way.” For emphasis, the Kadabra turned around, leaned over, and smacked his butt several times. Upon seeing this, Storm’s fuse blew. Someone was going to bleed for that! With a roar she cloaked her stubby hand in a pale green nimbus and ran over to her aggressor as fast as her chubby legs would allow her. Phanel, who was having too much fun spouting off all the nasty names he could call his opponent, didn’t realize his danger until it was too late. A howling Bagon gave his shoulder a vicious slash, and he winced as the wounds started trickling blood. The dragon fire around Storm’s little claws certainly didn’t help the pain.

Phanel hissed at the sting of his new cuts, but didn’t let the pain distract him from the little ball of electricity he was gathering in a palm. In all honesty it didn’t take that much concentration, since he needed much less than when he was preparing the Shock Waves from before. When he felt his palm begin to tingle, he let go of the electrical power, which jumped into the air in a rigid arc. Storm’s eyes widened as she followed the course of the current; then she hastily jumped out of the way, just as the Thunder Wave touched down. Despite this, the attack managed to nick one leg, causing it to lock up momentarily before relaxing again. Storm cried out in frustration but built up speed regardless, making a beeline for her opponent and diving down for another slash. Phanel grunted in shock, but there was no way he could avoid the lightning-fast attack. As Storm stepped back with a smirk, the Kadabra found himself sporting another cut, this time along his chest.

After wiping away the blood from his new wound, Phanel peered at Storm. She wasn’t glowing with any weird aura, so it was safe to assume that she was still Dragon-type. He shrugged before closing his fingers tightly around his spoon to make a fist. Then he cooled the air around his hand until one could actually see the mist cloaking the area. Storm felt the chill and shivered, just as Phanel brought his ice-cold his down on the dragon’s hide. A bit of ice formed on her side where the Kadabra’s attack made contact, and she squealed as she felt the chilly sensation bite deep into her flesh. She spun around and glared at Phanel before covering her claws in another aura, this time a dark purple. In another heartbeat Phanel was on the floor, knocked down as a result of Storm’s vicious slash. The ominous glow lingered above his stinging arm for a moment longer, the ghostly energy searing his flesh before vanishing into thin air. Then, he cringed again as the toxins in his system ran rampant, stabbing at his insides here and there.

If at any time you're fully paralyzed, *except for the second action because that's not possible* give yourself a break and Chill.

Okay, Phanel. He's going to try to hit you. I want you to not let him. Start out with a Psychic, but rather than simply crushing his mind I want you to pick him up and fling him as far as you can, so that he's going to need to waste time running back to you while half-paralyzed (if he turns into a Dark-type, go with a Seismic Toss for the same effect). Next, throw up a one-turn Safeguard so as to block his Swagger. Then, Counter his Dragon Claw. Or, if he's a Ghost-type, Shadow Ball.

As Phanel picked himself up from the ground, wincing from the pain of his wounds, the rocks began to shuffle their colours again. Storm stopped her insistent growling to watch the colour show, and hissed softly when the stones settled down. Within a moment both Pokemon were once again surrounded by a strange coloured aura, Storm in an angry purplish-black and Phanel in the same blue-green aura Ed had been enveloped in a few rounds before.

Storm started to run towards Phanel, but the humanoid creature was one step ahead of her. He started to replace the blue-green glow around him with a faint, purplish one, and before Storm could take another step, she had taken on the same aura. Grunting with the effort, Phanel lifted the dragon off of the ground. Storm wailed in surprise and started thrashing when she realized her feet left the ground, but Phanel had an iron grip on her body and refused to let go. When the Bagon had been elevated about four feet off the ground, Phanel gave her a mighty push with psychic hands. Storm screeched in alarm as she sailed through the air, landed on her rump roughly, and bounced a few times before skidding to a stop.

Her glare renewed and her snarling twice as loud as before, Storm sprinted up to her opponent as soon as she regained control of her body. Despite her stubby legs, she moved fast, and within several seconds she was yelling as she pounded, scratched, and kicked Phanel in a frenzy. The Kadabra could only hold up an arm to ward off some of the more serious blows, but as Storm backed away from him, panting but exhilarated, he was sporting many new scrapes and bruises.

Phanel cringed as he stood up. The battle was certainly starting to take a toll on him. With another grimace he crossed both arms in front of his chest and closed his eyes in concentration, summoning a pale green bubble around him. By now, Storm’s rage was calming, and she peered at the aura. It didn’t seem as solid as a Protect… With a shrug, she sauntered up to Phanel with an infuriating smirk. With a small hand she smoothed down her scales, and she brought her other hand to her mouth, then licked one of her claws with a tiny pink tongue, trying to look as awesome as she possibly could. As if that wasn’t maddening enough, she started bragging about her flawless appearance: her shiny scales, her perfect form. Under normal circumstances, Phanel would’ve wanted to cut the dragon’s head off with a very, very sharp axe, but the green bubble around him selectively filtered out the worst of the conceited comments, filling him with a powerful rage but allowing him to keep a level head. Its work done, the Safeguard flickered and faded out of existence.

Storm pouted when she observed that her opponent wasn’t yelling and tripping in a berserk rage. Instead of firing off more stuck-up speeches, though, she simply surrounded a hand with familiar dragon fire and stepped up to Phanel. However, the Kadabra was faster; he had already turned his palms to the sky and was sucking all the shadows in the arena into his hands. An unstable, murky blob began to form as the shadows ran towards Phanel, giving the field a strange, flat look. When the Shadow Ball had reached an adequate size, Phanel gave it a light push with a spoon, causing it to rocket towards Storm and explode. The Bagon screeched in pain as the ghostly energy spattered all over her, searing the purplish-black glow around her body before giving dimension to the area once more.

Even as the shadows took their places once more, the dragon fire around Storm’s hand flickered, and she shuddered with agony. It took her a few moments to push the pain away and concentrate on her attack; the flame around her claws flared up again as she channeled dragon-type energy into her arm. With a roar she jabbed her claws into Phanel’s shoulder, then tore downwards. This time it was the Kadabra’s scream that filled the air. The flames left from the slash blazed up like a cinder when it’s given oxygen, licking greedily at the torn flesh and burning at the blue-green aura as it fizzled out. Phanel’s knee buckled under his suffering, but even though he managed to remain standing, the poison jabbing at his insides told him that it wouldn’t be long until he became unconscious.

Safeguard saved Phanel from the confusion caused by Swagger, but he still got the attack boost. I think that’s how it works, but correct me if I’m wrong.
Oh yeah, and I reduced Facade's damage a bit, since Storm had less time than usual to execute the attack.

Huh, unfortunate typing that round, but what can you do.

Recover some of your injuries from the poison and your opponent. Then use that new attack boost from the swagger to Ice Punch 'em. If he targets you with a physical attack, though (ie, if you see him running towards you), switch to a counter. Then Chill, or counter if he attacks you.

Why don't you Roar first? After that, you can start running towards him, get all up in his face *but don't attack* and hit'm with a Dragon Pulse. Hopefully that'll get him to use Counter, yes, but if he appears to be starting up an Ice Punch or isn't tricked, as in, you see mist or energy or whatever around his hand, use Dragon Dance instead, as a kinda way to dodge it. And then you'll likely be close up to him again, so Roar and try to make him not be able to Chill.

Round Ten

Health: 75%
Energy: 67%
Status: Grinning at Phanel’s obvious discomfort. Paralyzed (moderate).
Commands: Roar ~ Dragon Pulse/Dragon Dance ~ Roar

Involuntary Twitch (XO)

Kadabra
Phanel (M) <Synchronize>
Health: 28%

Commands: Recover ~ Ice Punch/Counter ~ Chill/Counter

As the referee, having lost all her flags some time ago, announced the start of a new round, the seventeen stones once again started mixing their colours in a messy fashion. Phanel, flagging from his injuries, sat down and rested for the few seconds it took for the rocks to settle on their hues. As half of the rocks turned a deep earthen colour, the other half the greyish colour rocks usually were, and the battling Pokemon were enveloped in the respective aura, the Kadabra exhaled heavily and heaved himself to his feet. While Storm suddenly got the feeling that she would never be able to fly, even after evolution, that she would be grounded forever, Phanel felt a lot… stiffer. Like a statue. Well, not that stiff.

He shrugged, dismissing it as another phenomenon of the arena, and began to concentrate pure energy in his wounds and bruises scattered around his body. The energy pulsated, then stretched, wreathing his body in a bright white light instead of the dull grey aura he had before. He sighed in relief as the glow delved into his injuries and knitted them shut, leaving nary a scar or mark. Meanwhile, Storm had taken a deep, deep breath. Then, she roared, the sounds many decibels louder than one would expect out of a two-foot tall dragon. Phanel gasped in surprise and lost his focus, and the white glow that was healing his wounds flickered and faded away. Many of his cuts were gone, but there were still quite a number of injuries, meaning that the Recover had not fully done its work. Phanel was rather peeved when he realized he was still sporting more bruises and cuts than he should’ve, but felt much more confident overall. He swung his head towards his opponent and glowered at her.

Storm returned the glare in full, then began to march up to her opponent. Phanel smirked and drew himself into a defensive position, anticipating the physical blows, ready to return them twice as strong. But they never came. Storm came to a stop about a foot away from the Kadabra and opened her mouth wide, revealing the wobbly ball of dragon energy she had been gathering there. Phanel’s eyes widened in shock, but that was all he could do before the powerful wave of blue-green energy washed over him, burning at his skin. He was left panting slightly when the attack died down, much less confident than before and furious at having fallen for such a cheap trick. That Bagon was going to pay!

…Well, not yet. Phanel recalled his commands with much more than a speck of annoyance. Sure, the Recover had taken a lot out of him, but he still had enough energy to rip Storm from limb to limb. That was what battles consisted of, right? Brutal fighting? He regarded his opponent suspiciously, but Storm didn’t seem to be preparing any physical attacks. With an angry hiss he plopped down on the springy grass and closed his eyes. What was the point if he just sat there like a tree stump? Storm seemed to be thinking the same thing: she filled her lungs with oxygen once more and leaned close to Phanel’s ear, then let loose with another deafening roar. The Kadabra shrieked and literally jumped three feet into the air, his body screaming in protest and his ears ringing. Not only did he not get as much energy as he should’ve, he more or less got scared to death. Using his psychic powers, Phanel lowered himself gently to the ground, glaring murderously at Storm despite his racing heart. Oh, yes, she was going to pay.

Final notes
Dragon attacks first next round.
Storm turned into a Ground-type, Phanel into a Rock-type.
Since Phanel is faster than Storm, he managed to execute Recover and Chill. However, due to the distraction from Roar, he recovered 30% health as opposed to the regular 50%, and 6% energy instead of 12%.
Oh, and apparently the virtual dice roller dislikes numbers below 20%, which is what Storm has to roll in order to be paralyzed :/
I feel like I tend to write a lot in the final notes. Ah, whatever.
Oh yes, and sorry if this reffing seems particularly short. Phanel didn't exactly do much.

BWAHAHAHA HAHA HA

HA

Keep it up, Storm~ Alright, this is almost completely stupid, but.. let's go with Outrage fuck yeah! If he turns into a Steel type, Protects, Detects or Counters, I want you to Dragon Dance instead. Though if he tries to heal health or energy, either, go with a Roar, because that's funny :D

Do that for two actions, though on the second, if he tries to heal something use Scary Face instead. On the third, if you've used Outrage for two actions in a row, you can Chill, otherwise, DRACO METEOR

If that counts as a move that'll completely destroy the arena, uh.. Dragon Pulse. Okay.

Outrage/Dragon Dance/Roar~Outrage/Dragon Dance/Scary Face~Chill/Draco Meteor/Dragon Pulse

Right, right. My-- the Union's-- apologies.

Chill for your first action-- oh, and she's gonna roar at you, but since it's the second time it shouldn't come as unexpected or anything; just tone her out, or try and relax as much as you can. For the next action, ooh this is going to be tricky. So she's going to switch to a Dragon Dance when she sees you waiting for her to attack (in order to counter), right? Well, do that, and then instead unleash a Focus Punch rather than countering her attack. Or, if she's a ghost-type, um. Chill again keep your eyes closed. On the next action, quickly make a 5% Substitute to take the Draco Meteor for you; if it is forbidden, then just Ice Punch instead.

Chill ~ Focus Punch/Chill ~ 5% Substitute/Ice Punch

As Phanel sat down and prepared to take a break, the stones began to change colours again. The Kadabra opened a lazy eye to regard them suspiciously while Storm walked over to her opponent. A few seconds after she reached Phanel, the boulders settled down. Storm was surrounded by a placid, milky-white aura. In contrast, Phanel was enveloped in a chaotic, ever-changing glow of black and angry red. Storm snarled at the change, slightly unnerved by the aggressive nature of the energy.

By now, the Kadabra had shifted into a more comfortable position and was resting peacefully. Upon seeing this, Storm grinned with maniacal pleasure. She inhaled with an extremely exaggerated wheeze, then bellowed with all her might. The force of the sound actually plucked some leaves off of nearby trees and sent them flying through the air. Even though he was expecting it, Phanel jumped from the noise and squeaked. There really was no way he could fully neutralize the Roar’s effects; it was so just loud. Despite this, when he stood up and stared down at Storm, he felt energized, though he certainly wouldn’t have objected to a slightly longer rest.

Closing his eyes once more, this time in profound concentration, Phanel clenched a fist around his spoon so hard that his knuckles turned white. Seconds later, a faint tan aura, growing more solid with each moment, spread over his fingers and appeared to make his fist glow with an awesome, supernatural power. The Kadabra smirked. Let’s see how she likes this!

Storm never got to taste the power of Phanel’s Focus Punch. Her eyes focused on his fist, which was glowing with fighting-type energy, then glazed over with a vicious killing desire just as she launched herself at her opponent with an equally vicious roar. Phanel shouted in surprise and staggered backwards, falling ungracefully on his backside as the aura around his fist puttered out. Storm took no notice and proceeded to leap on top of her opponent, pinning him down. He gasped as the air was forced out of his lungs, but that was all he could do before dragon fire suddenly flared up and covered Storm’s entire body. Still roaring, the Bagon slashed at her opponent’s chest in a frenzy, adding the occasional bite or kick into the mix. The onslaught was further accented by the raging green flames which burned Phanel whenever Storm made contact. After what seemed an eternity, the manic Bagon relaxed for a bit; Phanel took the opportunity to shake off his assailant and stumble to his feet.

This only seemed to make Storm even angrier. The dragon fire around her flared up once more and she ran up to Phanel. Acting quickly, the Kadabra coated his fist in a layer of ice by lowering the atmosphere’s temperature and dealt a mighty punch to the side of Storm’s head. She howled in pain, but the attack was far from enough to stop her. Still in a berserk rage, she swung her rock-hard head at Phanel; it caught him in the stomach and sent him staggering. Then she lunged, managing to catch one of her opponent’s arms in her jaws. She shook her head savagely and a sickening crack was heard, barely audible amidst Phanel’s scream of agony. This evidently wasn’t enough for Storm, because she stubbornly held onto the mangled appendage while swiping all her claws in every which direction. Finally she stepped back, her energy spent – for now. Even after several minutes of brutal assaulting, the green fire surrounding her body didn’t flicker and her eyes were as murderous as ever. Phanel hissed in pain as he inspected his left arm, now lying limp at his side.

Final notes
Involuntary Twitch attacks first next round.
Storm turned into a Normal-type, Phanel into a Dark-type.
Phanel was expecting the Roar this time, and so recovered almost full energy (10% instead of 12%.)
Focus Punch’s visual is quite different from Counter’s, namely the fighting energy surrounding the fist, so Storm used Outrage instead.
The second Outrage did slightly more damage (2% more) since it rolled one number away from the critical.
Oh yes, and Outrage will keep going until the end of the 1st action next round.
And I had fun writing this. Carnage yesss.
