Alright Embraea, it's time for your first battle!

Alright girl, I want you to start of with Calm Mind to make that Ralts' special attacks hurt just that much less and raise your own, then I want you to use Will-o-wisp to burn it, however, if Good Sir Protects, use Calm Mind again instead, then finish the round with a Flamethrower

Calm Mind ~ Will-o-Wisp/Calm Mind ~ Flamethrower

Good Sir, I want you to be extremely... good.

Firstly, Snatch that Calm Mind so that turn shall be used to our own advantage and theirs to waste. Then, use Thunder Wave to inflict them with a status condition as well along with reducing their speed. Finally, end it with a Facade for revenge against the upcoming burn.

Glad to be presiding over a battle in a reasonable locale, Zoroark strides up to the entry gates of the stadium located right in the centre of one of Asber's cities. Flashing his referee badge at the admissions desk attendant, he crosses the turnstile and enters the stadium. It's quite a large place, a standard rectangular battleground surrounded on all sides by stacks of seats for spectators to use. It seems a rather grandiose place, more suited for an epic tournament final between battle-hardened veterans than for a skirmish between a pair of neophytes. But a Pokémon battle is a Pokémon battle, and the people of Asber love Pokémon battles, so the stands are packed with hundreds of spectators chattering and waiting eagerly for the action to begin.

Not making them wait a moment longer, Zoroark scales the steps to his seat high above the battlefield and scans the scene for the two trainers he'll be presiding over today. By now, the two beginning trainers have taken their places at the ends of the stadium, where they now stand looking nervous and excited in equal measure, absent-mindedly running their hands over their Pokéballs wondering who to send out first. The referee greets them with a wave and calls to the crowd over his loudhailer for silence, welcoming them to the battle, introducing the battlers and other pre-battle nonsense before commanding the two to make their Pokémon selections. Eagerly, Glace sends out a Ralts, and with a smirk of confidence Sweet Silver Nightmare responds with Larvesta. The members of the crowd pick their favourite and start cheering for them as the referee calls a start to the first round!

Calm Mind ~ Will-o-Wisp/Calm Mind ~ Flamethrower

Hearing half the crowd frantically chanting his name, Good Sir begins to shake like a leaf; he's never battled before and this is an incredibly intimidating atmosphere for a beginner. Paradoxically, the Fire-type Embraea is slightly more cool-headed, and begins to focus her mind and concentrate, heightening her mental capacities. Just as a soothing calm washes over her, she suddenly feels it being wrenched away; she snaps her eyes open to see a wave of dark energy sweep over her, robbing her of her calmed senses and retrieving them to Good Sir. A wave of cheering and booing issues forth from the stands as the stolen energy is absorbed into Good Sir; his doubt and fear is washed away as a reassuring calm blossoms in his mind, giving his body a warm, pinkish glow.

Embraea gives a dissatisfied grunt; surely that's not fair! The referee doesn't seem to be saying anything, so apparently theft is just completely okay now. Frowning, she summons a small orb of eerie blue light; here's a bit of arson to go with it, she thinks as she blows lightly on the tiny flame, which begins to drift lazily through the air toward Good Sir. The crowd gives a collective, hushed "ooo" as they watch the flare dance its way across the field, mesmerised by its beauty. Even Good Sir is enchanted, shuffling toward the flame as it dawdles ever closer. He smiles, extending a stubby little hand to touch the flickering entity. When it touches his hand, however, a searing, burning pain spreads all through Good Sir's arm; he gives a yelp of agony as it runs itself all along his body, littering him with angry red patches that throb with pain. In response to the awful burns, his body flashes with a bright, white aura; the same light envelops Embraea as Good Sir attempts to mentally duplicate his awful burning pain on his opponent. Her Fire-type affinity makes her immune to burns, though, and the glow soon fades without effect. Good Sir frowns, raising his not-burned arm as the tip of it glows and crackles with a bright yellow charge. He holds his hand out towards Embraea, and the electricity arcs out from his hand and zaps the caterpillar in an instantaneous flash. The Larvesta grunts as the charge works its way through her body, stiffening her muscles and making movement a real chore.

While his opponent is still trying to force her muscles to comply with her demands, Good Sir realises he can get in an earlier attack. Rubbing at his burns, he feigns tremendous pain, staggering forward as slowly and laboriously as he can muster. Even the Embraea supporters in the stands take pity on him, awwing and being generally sympathetic toward the poor little tyke. Ignoring her own ailment, Embraea tentatively inches up to Good Sir, somewhat concerned at his apparent agony and wondering whether maybe she went too hard on the poor little guy. Good Sir gives a secret smirk as he sees her coming towards him sheepishly; she's playing right into his hands. As soon as the Larvesta reaches him and starts to ask if he's okay, Good Sir immediately drops the act and deals a vicious smack right into her face. Embraea wails and rears back, wishing she had appendages to shield her face with, as Good Sir deals another violent punch to the back of her head. The crowd gasps in a mixture of horror and amazement, half of them impressed by Good Sir's strategy and half of them furious that he'd pull such a dirty trick. None of them are as outraged as Embraea, however, who begins to regret that she didn't torch him more badly. In fact, she thinks she'll do that right now! Opening her mandibles wide, she lets out a searing stream of flame that engulfs Good Sir in a raging, white-hot inferno. The Ralts screams in agony as the flames lick painfully at his burns, escalating the pain they induce to unbearable levels. Eventually, he remembers to stop, drop and roll, extinguishing the flames but scraping his tender, burnt flesh on the ground in the process.

Hmm...

Alright, Good Sir, you are a good sir after all, so use your manly charms to Attract her! If at any time during the first or second turn she seems to try any form of physical or special nonsense, just create 3 clones using Double Team. Next, use Facade once more. If she uses Protect, then use Encore. On the next turn, if the encore is needed and successful, then use Calm Mind. If it is not needed, then send a Confuse Ray out to give her even more problems.

~ Attract/Double Team (x3) ~ Facade/Encore/Double Team (x3) ~ Calm Mind/Confuse Ray ~

Alright, first form a Protect to block that Attract. Now, whether or not the Protect fails due to him using Double Team instead, on your next turn, use Safeguard to block the incoming Confuse Ray. On your last turn, if Good Sir has any Double Team clones, use Foresight, if not, use Bug Bite instead.

Rubbing his sore, peeling skin, Good Sir listens in horror to his commands. Attract? Jeez, it's bad enough she's a creepy little bug, now he has to pretend to like her? Luckily, he has a way out; peering closely at Embraea, he spots a glint of blue light surrounding her body. Heaving a sigh of relief, he instead raises his hands to his head and glows blue with psychic energy, and three semi-translucent holograms of Raltses appear around him in a triangular formation. The illusions spin around him, gaining speed and solidity as they rotate, and he joins them as their gyration maxes out in speed and grinds to a sudden halt. A confused murmuring rises from the crowd as the spectators try to figure out which Good Sir is real.

Having pulled off his little trick, Good Sir notices his burn throbbing even more than usual, and decides to milk it for all it's worth. In unison, the clones rub their raw, weeping skin and pull agonised faces. Again, the crowd mutter in sympathy, but Embraea simply shoots Good Sir and his cohorts a cold, uncaring glance. Serves you right, she thinks, determined she won't fall for any more tricks. But taking another look at them, she notices they genuinely seem to be suffering. She lowers her guard for just a moment, and Good Sir grabs the opportunity with both hands. Rushing up to Embraea, the clones jump at her simultaneously, and before she can curse her own gullibility Good Sir deals her another brutal smack right in the kisser. Fuming with rage, Embraea curtails her sincere desire to roast that little brat alive and follows her trainer's orders, summoning a coat of shimmering yellow energy that wraps around her body, shielding her from any form of external ill.

Ignoring her protective forcefield, or perhaps failing to notice it in the jubilation of pummelling Embraea upside the head, Good Sir and his fellows raise their hands, summoning a spectral orb of many bright, flashing colours that begins to weave its way through the air towards the Larvesta. Again, like with Embraea's Will-o-Wisp, the crowd "ooo" at its beauty as it swirls aimlessly through the air towards its target, but Embraea is not privy to its splendour, her Safeguard creating a screen blocking the lights from her view. The orb sways to and fro in front of her for a while, pausing as it becomes clear nothing's happening to its target. It jiggles around faster, right in front of Embraea's face, before giving up and floating upwards out of the stadium. Good Sir gives a grunt of anguish, oblivious to the fact that while the orb was dancing around unnoticed in Embraea's face, she was very carefully watching him; scanning him, in fact, with a hair-thin red beam of light that separates physical entities from illusions. Though this vision, she sees only one Good Sir; the real one. Instantly, the clones vanish into thin air, leaving behind a confused, irritated, and above all lonely Good Sir.

Firstly, use Protect against that fancy little combo of hers, then use Psychic to get a nice STAB move while it being unaffected by your burn. Finally, finish it off with an Encore, and wait until the Larvesta uses its Sunny Day to use it. Wait as long as you have to.

After a round of playing defensively, Embraea decides now is the time to deal some major hurt. Summoning flames from her body, she rushes toward Good Sir, who throws his arms up and squeezes his eyes shut upon seeing the raging swarth of flame storming towards him, coating his body in a bright blue shield. Embraea begins to flip and somersault over him repeatedly, dealing numerous jabs with her flaming appendages, but even with the momentum of her initial rushing tackle behind them, they're still not enough to break through Good Sir's shield, which he puts everything into maintaining however much Embraea tries to break through. The spectators cheer and applaud at Embraea's amazing manouevres, but the Larvesta just grows more and more frustrated as she tries desperately to inflict some damage on Good Sir. Eventually she gives up, and the Ralts lowers his forcefield. At least the initial rush limbered her up.

Once he's sure he's fended off all of Embraea's assaults, Good Sir sets about putting those stat buffs he stole to good use. His body glows with psychic energy as he raises his hands to his forehead, and slowly Embraea begins to be enveloped by a similar aura. Wordlessly and expressionlessly, his head tilted to the ground, Good Sir raises his arms, and a startled Embraea begins to drift skyward until she hovers a few feet from the ground. Still not looking up, Good Sir begins to sway his arms in slow, fluid motions, and Embraea is flung in the direction he gestures by an unseen force. First, she smashes into the ground with a hiss, then is flung back toward the back of the arena, slamming into the wall at the base of the spectator stands. Finally, she is sent spinning several metres into the air, where Good Sir lets go of her; several seconds pass with no sign of the Larvesta, until suddenly she tumbles down from the sky and smashes face-first into the ground. Good Sir lowers his arms and raises his head, smiling as he watches his concussed foe squirming in the dust.

The crowd wait eagerly for the Pokémon's next moves, but they seem to be very slow coming. Good Sir and Embraea simply stand in place, staring each other down, waiting for the other to move first. But neither does. They just stand rigid and inactive, Good Sir moving only to flinch from his searing burn. A confused silence descends over the stands, and the round is finally ended by the referee; if they waited for it to end properly when the battlers attacked, they might be here forever.

Rather annoyed at wasting a whole action, Good Sir starts off the next round as soon as possible, raising his arms over his head and shaking his body back and forth, stepping rhythmically from side to side. In response to his swaying motions, the area darkens as thick grey clouds roll over the sky above the stadium. Good Sir claps his hands, and the clouds respond with a synchronised clap of thunder and begin to unleash a torrent of sparkling raindrops over the stadium. The rain starts off very thin and ignorable, but soon grows so intense the shutters on the stadium roof need to be closed over the stands to stop the audience getting soaked to the skin. Good Sir doesn't seem to mind the change of weather, but being a Fire-type, Embraea absolutely despises it. She scans the area for any kind of shelter, but upon finding none she decides to tough it out until the appalling weather stops. Nonetheless, to register her dismay, she begins to create a high-pitched droning sound. The clattering of raindrops against the ground drowns out the noise, so she adjusts the volume to project it over the sound of the rain, then makes it louder and louder until even everyone in the stands claps their hands against their ears in pain at the intensely loud buzzing. Good Sir gets the worst of it, falling to his knees in pain with his hands pressed against his ears, praying he goes deaf to stop the horrible, horrible sound. When it cuts off, he falls to the ground in relief, the intense pattering of rain almost silent by comparison to what he just heard, his eardrums still throbbing in agony, while Embraea's protective shield slowly dissolves away.

When his hearing recovers enough for him to hear his command, he gives an exasperated sigh. Zen Headbutt? Like, hit it with his head? The thing his ears are attached to, the things which just got obliterated by that ungodly racket? Surely that's going to end worse for him than Embraea... with another sigh, he clambers to his feet, attempting to banish all thoughts from his mind and reach a serene state of calm, focussing his psychic energies into his head. A blue light glows at the tip of his horn as he dashes forward, slamming his skull into Embraea's in a flash of light. The Larvesta grunts in pain, but soon recovers, scuttling away as fast as her stiff little legs can carry her. She runs several laps of the stadium, seeming to grow faster each time until she becomes a blur, and when she returns to her starting point, three more Larvestas have joined her. Her muscles seem to have suppled up, too, to the point where she is no longer at risk of seizing up mid-attack. She and her clones scuttle around in circles to celebrate while Good Sir tries to work out which Embraea is which.

Despite her newfound agility, the Larvesta doesn't seem to be trying to attack; she and her fellows just appear to be standing there, waiting for Good Sir to do something. The Ralts happily takes advantage of her inaction, seizing the opportunity to do something about her troupe of confusing imitators. Embraea begins to glow with pink energy, which scoops up the startled caterpillar and suspends her a few inches from the ground. She struggles against the strange force, but to no avail; it holds her securely, restricting her movement and making it very difficult to avoid any attack against her. She looks around for her clones, and spots them all still on the ground; being non-tangible entities, they were not manipulated by Good Sir's telekinetic powers, and one by one the illusions poof out of existence. Embraea snarls in annoynce; right, she'll show that stupid Ralts, with her Encore! ... wait, Encore? That... clappy thing? She frowns, inspecting her stubby little insect legs; these aren't really very handy for applauding with, she thinks sadly.

Embraea gives a frustrated growl. Not only is it still raining, but now she's being hung up in the air against her will. Clearly, she didn't complain enough earlier, and she decides to remedy this with more high-pitched droning. The audience instinctively clap their hands to their ears as soon as the buzzing begins, but Good Sir's ears are still so sore from last time that as soon as it begins he is immobilised with pain. He lies in a twitching heap until the buzzing cuts off, and after his ears stop throbbing, he stands up and turns to his foe, determined to stop her making that irritating noise. He stares directly into her eyes, and begins to employ psychic suggestion into her mind that she is incredibly sleepy, willing her to stare deep into his glowing blue eyes. Embraea struggles, trying to turn away, but the glowing aura holding her in the air forces her to face Good Sir, and before long his brainwashing takes effect, putting Embraea into a deep slumber.

With his foe out of action, Good Sir seizes the opportunity to rough her up at his leisure. Again he lowers his head to the ground, his body glowing as his arms raised above his head, and silently pushes Embraea through the air with the wave of his hands, sending her slamming over and over into the wet ground with a slosh before hurling her to the end of the stadium, smashing her into the stands with a brutal crunch. All through this, the Larvesta never moves a muscle; not that she'd be able to, given the cocoon of psychic energy holding her still, but nonetheless her sleep is not interrupted in the slightest.

Embraea dozes right through her turn, prompting Good Sir to decide now seems like an opportune time to think a few steps ahead. He uses his psychic powers to catch a glimpse of the stadium a few minutes into the future, carefully noting Embraea's location in this vision, and running a few calculations through his head, he raises his hand and shoots a shining blue sphere into the air. The audience watch the orb expectantly as it shoots skyward, waiting to see it crash down on the arena in some spectacular explosion or something. However, for several minutes no such payoff materialises, and the spectators are left mumbling and scratching their heads, as the rain patters to a gradual halt and the aura around Embraea dissipates, letting the Larvesta drop into a small puddle a few inches below.

Bug Buzz ~ [asleep] ~ [asleep]

=ARENA NOTES=
~ the rain has worn off. Large puddles still remain, which are slowly drying up.

=REFEREE'S NOTES=
~ the Attacks and Abilities guide says nothing about Telekinesis requiring concentration, and it seems more like it just involves lifting the target up until it wears off rather than the user consciously holding them there, so Bug Buzz didn't disrupt it.
~ Future Sight goes off in two actions.

=TURN ORDER=
~ Glace attacks
~ Sweet Silver Nightmare attacks

((Sorry for the lateness T-T))

Alright, Good Sir, you're doing well! Now, if the Larvesta is still asleep, use Dream Eater to gain some of yo health back. If she wakes up and attacks, use Protect. Then, if she's still asleep on the next attack, just Chill to gain yo energy back. If she wakes up, still Chill. Then finally, abuse your luck and use Hypnosis if she wakes up, or if she is still miraculously asleep, use Dream Eater. Additionally, if at any time she uses a stat-boosting move, Snatch it.

~ Dream Eater/Protect/Snatch ~ Chill/Snatch ~ Hypnosis/Dream Eater/Snatch ~
