1 vs 1 Single
Style: Set
DQ: A Week
Damage Cap: 25%
Banned Moves: OHKO's
Banned Pokemon: Wailord (It's too big :O)
Arena: Horsea's Cove

The water is full of marine life, most notably Horsea. There is seaweed for Pokemon to hide in, and a rich coral reef as well. The cove has sandy beaches that are at a 5 degree incline. They go about 20 feet inland before it goes to a sheer cliff, around 70 feet high. Flying types can roost on random perches on the cliffs. Also, these cliffs meet about 60 feet up at the far end of the cove, covering around a fifth of it with a cave-like structure. The watery section of the cove has a diameter of around 50 feet, and a maximum depth of 200 feet. The cove surrounds this water almost entirely, and is a perfect circle. A quarter of the circle is open to the sea. The cliffs contain an intricate network of tunnels around 7 feet tall at best, and 2 feet at worst. It is quite easy to get lost

Now onto how the environment affects attacks. Unless a weather move is used to override it, it is constantly raining. Upon the weather condition expiring, it will begin to rain once more. Surf and Brine do 2% extra damage here, and Whirlpool will trap opponents for an extra round if they are attacked while in the water. Electric attacks gain 5% extra accuracy here, never going above 100% accuracy, as long as it is raining. Thunder, while it is raining, will of course revert to 100% accuracy. Rock Slide requires 5% extra energy to use, as the cliffs are very strong. Earthquake may also knock off chunks from the cliff (may as in 40% chance), and these chunks will do an extra 5% damage per chunk, to both the foe and the user of Earthquake. It is random who these chunks will hit

Also, yes, the Horsea don't do anything

I send out Ribbon! :D Marine Dragon ish love :3

EDIT: Almost forgot to post the sig attack and mod:

Signature Move: Tempest

Description: Having been born with her trainer, she was not confined to a cave like most Gible are. As such, she was exposed to such things as wind, rivers... and storms. Storms always fascinated Ribbon greatly, the lightning crackling in the air, the high speed winds, the pouring rain. She wanted to learn how to make them herself, so that she could dance among the storm that she always loved so much. So, she went outside during said storms quite often, practising long and hard to summon such weather. And she soon accomplished this feat. Due to her low stage, she can only bring about such weather, called Tempest. She does this by calling upon arcane energies to try to influence the weather. She charges these energies inside of her body, then lets them loose into the sky. The crackling dragon energy in the sky disrupts air currents and attracts particles of water, dust, ice, etc. These serve to summon a grand storm. The remainder of this energy infuses the clouds above, causing the rain that pours with this tempest to be useless for water types, but a great asset for dragon types. This energy, however, also harms dragon types in unique ways.

Type: Dragon / Stat: Other / Base Damage: 0% / Accuracy: N/A / Target: N/A / Energy: 5% / Duration: Weather Effect

Effects: Causes the Tempest Weather Condition. When Tempest is the current weather, it causes all Dragon Types to do 2% more damage when attacking. As a side effect, all resistances and immunities attributed to the Dragon Type are wiped until the weather subsides. Weaknesses still apply (So, for example, Gible would now be weak to Grass type attacks, and would still be 4x weak to ice type attacks)
Usage Gap: 5 rounds after weather fades, can only be used twice per battle

Signature Modification: Marine Dragon

Description: Ribbon was born in an oceanic part of the world. The Gible, Gabite, and Garchomp there, due to the enviroment, had to develop ways to cope, as the only real prey they had access to was fish. So, over time (roughly 500 years. Hey, these ARE Pokemon we are talking about), they evolved webbing on their feet, bigger fins, sharper tipped... side... things on their heads, and smaller scythes in the case of Gabite and Garchomp. With Gible, they gained longer fingers with webbing instead. These mutations, for all stages, made them quite profecient in water, allowing for maximum speed and power. Another mutation gained was their very skin changing to help them deal with the water. Instead of being harmed by merely swimming, their bodies soon accepted the water, gaining effects similar to those exhibited by Water Veil. The Gible, Gabite, and Garchomp with this mutation did better than the ones with Sand Veil, as water is far more prevalent than sandstorms in the ocean. In her current stage, the basic stage, Ribbon has the ability to swim quite well, to the point where she gains an immense speed boost when swimming, and a minor speed boost when wet. She is also just as fast as a normal Gible on land, running on all fours to achieve the same effect. Also, her little... turbine... things, due to being sharper to allow her to go through the water faster, make a nasty little weapon, at the cost of making her eaiser to hit when she uses them, due to her losing her balance right after attempting to spear her enemy. However, due to evolving to live a life at sea, she has a slight disadvantage. As she goes faster in water, even when it is just raining, she, naturally, goes slower when it is very sunny, to the point of a minor speed loss in sunny weather, and a major speed loss in a place like a desert. This is due to the warmth and dryness reminding her that she is nowhere near sea. As such, she becomes more cautious and aware that she is not in her own element.

Effects: All ramming attacks gain 1% more power, due to her edges... head... things. All attacks made against her have 10% more accuracy right after she has used a ramming attack such and Dragon Rush or Iron Head, though. Also, Ribbon gains +1 speed in rain and +2 speed when she is in a body of water. These boosts do not allow her to exceed the usual +6 boost, however. In sunny weather, Ribbon will lose -1 speed, and -2 speed in a dry climate such as a desert. Her speed cannot go lower than -6. Ribbon's ability is Water Veil instead of Sand Veil.

...Alrighty then. I believe I'll send in my Spheal, Martha. We will begin by summoning up some Hail. After this, I want you to add to this with an Aurora Beam and finish up with a Defence Curl

Hail~Aurora Beam~Defence Curl

Ribbon, this is your domain. Stay in the water, so that you keep your speed boost. Start out with Swords Dance, then use Protect to block the Aurora Beam. Finish up with Iron Head, which should not only strike before Defense Curl and do neutral damage, but will also do extra damage due to your Marine Dragon ability

Swords Dance ~ Protect ~ Iron Head (Gains 1% power from Marine Dragon)

Pre-Round

It was raining. More accurately speaking, it was pouring. Hard. The rain drummed down from the sky, smashing into the coral reefs and the cove, the arena where the trainers have agreed to battle. A few Horsea could be seen swimming about in the waters, oblivious to the fact that their peaceful home will soon be destroyed by a Pokemon battle. A rather annoyed Linoone stood to the side, standing under a beach umbrella. She held two referee flags in her paws as she waited for the trainers to take their place.

Icalasari was the first trainer to release his Pokemon. In a burst of light, a small, shark-like dragon materialized on the coral reef. The Gible blinked curiously as the rain drops hit her on the head. Then, a silly grin spread over her face. Ribbon was born in the rain, after all, and she absolutely loves water. Animorph was the next to send out Pokemon. A red and white sphere flew through the air, and, in a similar burst of light, a small, round Pokemon popped out of her Pokeball and materialized on the ground. Unlike the Gible, however, the Spheal seemed a bit annoyed by the rain. The ball seal Pokemon squeaked and shuffled into place as she got ready to battle.

The Linoone sighed. Her first time at reffing a battle, and it was pouring like there’s no tomorrow. “Icalasari versus Animorph! Round one, began!”

Round 1 Start

Ribbon grinned happily and leapt into the water. Although she is a Gible, the dragon was born in the sea and could swim as well as any water type. Ribbon started to swim around in circles, enjoying the water and her speed boost. What was she supposed to do again? Oh right. The Gible started to spin, faster and faster, and her body slowly started to glow softly. A small whirlpool started to swirl around Ribbon as she performed the Swords Dance attack. A few disgruntled Horsea scattered away from the spinning Pokemon and hid within the long seaweed.

Meanwhile, Martha had started to charge her attack. The Spheal started to glow softly. The glow started to get brighter and brighter until all one can see was a shining ball of blue-white energy. Then, a beam of energy erupted from the Spheal and shot straight up into the thick stormy clouds above, and disappeared with a flash of light. Electricity crackled within the clouds as the temperature slowly started to drop on the battlegrounds. The rain stopped pouring for a split second – the referee Linoone gave a sigh of relief – but her mood was immediately ruined by what started to fall out of the sky afterward: hail. Balls of ice dropped out of the skies, smashing in to the ground and water. Martha grinned satisfyingly; that’s more like it! No more rain! The cold is her domain. The Spheal felt right at home with the ice pouring out of the sky. The hail bounced right off her rubbery skin, not affecting the ice type at all.

Ribbon had stopped spinning by then. Her senses sharpened, she suddenly realized that it was no longer raining; in fact, it was hailing. The Gabite shrugged to herself as she treaded water. She didn’t really mind the hail, since she’s in the water and all. However, the hailstones falling out of the sky were quite annoying. And it was cold. Then a hailstone hit her smack on the head.

<Ribbon: -1HP -2E, Martha: -0HP -4E>

Martha prepared herself for her next attack. She charged up energy, holding it inside herself until it was freezing cold and ready to burst. The Spheal opened her mouth again, and a blinding wave of rainbow energy shot out at the Gible. The energy flashed through all colors of the rainbow and splashed out in different directions as it hit Ribbon straight on. The water reflected the beams, and the colors seemed to dance with the waves like a light show in the sea. Martha grinned again, feeling quite proud of herself. This attack should do that strange dragon some good damage.

However, when the energy faded, the Spheal found herself face to face to a completely unharmed Ribbon. A wall of energy glowed softly in front of the Gible, had protected her from the ice-cold energy beam and the hailstones falling from the sky. Martha squealed grumpily. So much for her dream to take out the dragon with only one or two hits…

<Ribbon: -0HP -5E, Martha: -0H -4E>

The Protect fizzled and died as Ribbon started charging up her energy for her next attack. She focused, and energy gathered in front of her head. The energy glowed softly and hardened into a metallic plate. With a sudden burst of speed, the Gible shot forward and smashed into Martha, her long turbine-horn-things digging into the Spheal’s side.

Martha cringed with pain as the attack hit. Although her thick layer of fat had managed to stop the attack from drawing any blood, it still hurt as if Wailord had fallen out of the sky and landed on her. The Spheal attempted to ignore the pain (which wasn’t exactly easy to do) and curl into a ball, taking care to hide the side Ribbon had just smashed into. That attack is definitely going to leave a bruise, the Spheal decided.

Ribbon backed away from the Spheal, attempting to keep her balance while hoping the Spheal wouldn’t attack while she couldn’t fight back. The Gible failed miserably and fell into the water with a loud splash, once again scattering away the curious group of Horsea. Stupid evolution. Ribbon poked her head out of the water to look at Martha, who seemed to be in quite a lot of pain, when a rather large hailstone hit her on the head. Surprised, the Gible choked on a mouthful of water. She looked at the many pieces of ice floating around her and sighed. The hail really was going to get bothersome.

Post-Round

It had stopped raining on the Horsea’s Cove. However, it is now hailing instead, and the temperature had dropped quite a bit. A rather annoyed Gible is swimming around in the water while trying not to crash into any of the hailstones. A Spheal is curled up on the sandy beach, and she looks as if she is in a lot of pain. A few Horsea can be seen swimming about in the cove.

Good job Ribbon! Now I want you to dive under the water. I do not know how long you can hold your breath, but considering your physiology, I figure that you should be able to hold it for a few rounds (You may want to check with Negrek, Crazy Linoone). Use Double Team to make 4 clones while doing this, then have them scatter all around to confuse the enemy while you Chill

If you CAN'T stay under water for that long, then what I want you to do is dive like I said, but swim to the cliffs. Then jump into one of the tunnels, use Double Team, and hide and Chill

If you can dive for a long time:
Dive and use Double Team x4 (Dive as in the swimming action, not the move) ~ Scatter clones and Chill ~ Chill

Otherwise:

Dive and swim to cliffs ~ Double Team x4 and scatter ~ Hide and Chill

Okay...Martha, I want you to try and throw out an Aurora Beam while she heads for the cliff. After that, I want you to simply chill for the rest of the round

Aurora Beam~Chill~Chill

Pre-Round

Hail pelted down from the gloomy skies, as Icalasari and Animorph faced off, ready for the next round of attacks. Ribbon the Gible was swimming around in the large pool of water, trying to dodge the hailstones falling out of the sky while not crashing into any of the many Horsea or seaweed. A Spheal sat on the sandy beach, slightly curled up and in pain.

“Round 2, start!” Crazy Linoone yelled and waved her referee flags. A hailstone hit her smack on the head.

Round 2 Start

Ribbon immediately took a deep breath and sunk into the crisp, clear water. She looked around in wonder: there were so many Horsea here! There were Horsea in the water around her, Horsea hiding in the seaweeds, Horsea behind rocks… The Gible shook her head. There’s a battle going on, and she needs to focus. Ribbon started to swim in circles, faster and faster, creating a small whirlpool. When she stopped, there were not one, but five Gible fins, all exactly the same, sticking out of the top of the water. Then, the Gible scattered. One swam around in circles, and a few others dove for the seaweed. Another swam towards the cliff, before disappearing under water along with the rest of the clones. One Gible burst out of the water and landed on the beach.

Martha stared at the many Gible in shock. Which one is the real Ribbon? The Spheal shook her head and decided to follow her trainer’s orders. She turned to face the cliff, carefully as to not to hurt her injured side any longer, and stared at the calm water surface. She did saw one Gible swim toward that direction… Martha opened her mouth. A beam of ice-cold energy shot out, cooling the air around the beam and refracting light into all the colors of the rainbow. The beam hit the surface of the water, sending a huge splash of freezing water into the air, and, in the midst of it all, a Gible. Or what had seemed to be a Gible, anyway, because the clone fizzled and disappeared in midair. Martha sighed and glared at the Gible on the beach hatefully, and a hailstone hit the Spheal on the head. It’s not like the hail did any damage, but it was very annoying.

<Ribbon: -0HP -8E, Martha: -0HP -4E>

Ribbon smiled to herself as she found a comfortable spot in the bed of seaweeds. She closed her eyes and relaxed, careful to not breathe in any of the water. The sea bubbled and swirled around her, and the Horsea came out again. The Gible clones, too, settled down and closed their eyes.

Martha eyed the Gible next to her nervously. The Spheal was still slightly curled up to protect her injured side, and she wasn’t about to forget Ribbon’s power anytime soon. The Gible on the beach, however, completely ignored her, sat down, and seemed to fall asleep. Martha sighed and too relaxed, saving her energy for later rounds. Her wound didn’t feel as bad as before, but it still hurt quite a lot.

Hail continued to pound down from the sky, the pieces of ice falling onto the water's surface and floated there, not hitting anything at all.

<Ribbon: -0HP +10E; Martha: -0HP +10E>

The hail continued to pour from the sky. A rather annoyed Linoone stood to the side, staring at the unmoving Pokemon and feeling quite bored and cold. Martha stirred, opened her eyes, and closed them again as she continued to Chill. Deep under the water, in a patch of seaweed, Ribbon, too, rested. However, the Gible was starting to get a bit uncomfortable under the water. Although she loved swimming, but she loved being able to breathe, too. Ribbon thought that she probably would be able to hold her breath for a few more actions before she would have to come up for air. However, she’s still quite fine with the water surrounding her.

Round 2 Ends

Post-Round
The sky was dark and gloomy as the wind whooshed by and the hailstorm continued to drop chunks of ice on the trainers. A few Horsea swam absentmindedly through the water as if nothing is happening. Okay, Martha...let's see.

Okay, I want you to prepare. She's underwater, so, see if you can use an Aurora beam. The light energy should get through the water. Try sweeping the plants at the bay's floor. Then, let's try another tactic- signal beam, same stratagy.*Yep, it can learn it through breeding. Wierd, idn't?* Finally, chill.

Aurora Beam~Signal Beam~Chill

[That should read 97%, according to the energy losses and gains. But I won't complain about 986% energy :D]

Ok Ribbon, this will be easy. She wants to attack the seaweed BOTH times, so leave a decoy there, and make sure that it swims around and just barely dodges the beams while YOU sneak up on Martha. Then, when you are right behind her, use Iron Head and Toxic in the resulting wounds to add a little more sting

Sneak up on Marth (Use a clone as a Decoy) ~ Iron Head + Toxic into wounds

[NOTE: Almost forgot. When I say Toxic in wounds, I mean disperse it either through the sharp things on her head or else bite down on the wound. I do NOT want the water to be filled with poison]

Pre-Round

Hail continued to pour down from the skies, pelting the three Pokemon (hey, the referee is one, too!) and two trainers with hard, cold ice. The sandy beach, the cliffs, and the water’s surface were littered with many pieces of hailstones, large and small. A Gible stood beside Martha the Spheal on the beach. A few other Gible swam about under the water, weaving between the seaweeds and the many Horsea.

The referee Linoone dodged a falling hailstone waved her flags again. “Round three, start!” Really, being a ref is harder than she thought…

Round 3 Start

First things first. Ribbon called forth one of her clones in the seaweeds. She sent the clone swimming around in circles in the seaweeds, then, Ribbon too, swam into the seaweed patch. The Gible smiled apologetically at the passing by Horsea; she knew that they have no idea that a powerful beam will hit them soon. Soon, the water was calm except for the single Gible swimming in and out of the long seaweeds, and the few Horsea following.

Martha, however, peered at the Gible on the beach again nervously. She’s still not sure whether that Gible is the real one or not; however, her trained told her to blast the water, and her trainer is probably right about this. So the Spheal once again ignored the Gible at her side and focused. A ball of multicolored energy started to form in her open mouth, growing larger and brighter as the Spheal poured more of her energy into it. Finally, it was ready. Martha released the rainbow-colored energy beam, and she herself was sent sliding backwards a bit by the force of the attack. The beam, ice-cold and sparkling like a neon-light rainbow, shot towards the waters as the Horsea below panicked at the incoming attack and scattered. There was a blinding flash of light as the Aurora Beam hit the water, as the water cooled to unknown degrees and sprayed into the air. The Gible in the seaweeds seemed to panic, swimming back and fourth as the beam swept the seafloor, destroying the seaweeds and stirring up a cloud of sand from the bottom of the bay. However, the Gible managed to, although barely, dodge the beam, as it was protected by the murky waters and the fleeing Horsea.

Martha peered at the water, now murky by her attack, trying to see if she had hit anything. She didn’t notice that instead of one Gible, there were now two of them on the beach behind her. One of them was smiling evilly, but stopped at a hailstone hit her on the side.

Suddenly, the air wasn’t as cold anymore. Fewer hailstones were falling than before, and they were smaller, too. Gradually, the hail stopped, and, instead, rain began to pour from the stormy sky.

<Ribbon: -1HP -1E; Martha: -0HP -3E>

Ribbon looked at the sky gleefully. Oh goodie. Rain. She lowered her head, and focused her energy onto her forehead. The energy glowed softly, then solidified into a metallic plate. Then, her turbine-things started to glow purple. A blob of purple goo oozed out of each turbine, until their tips were covered with the toxic maerial.
The Gible charged forward suddenly, and smashed her hardened head into the unsuspecting Spheal. The turbine-horn things on the Gibles head, sharpened through many years of evolution, dug deeply into Martha’s back. The Spheal yelped in pain and was sent tumbling forward by the force of the attack. Ribbon pulled her turbine-horns out of Martha’s back and satisfyingly watched the toxic ooze sink into the two holes in the Spheal’s back. The Gible clone did the exact same thing, only that it didn’t do any damage. It was just an illusion after all.

The combo attack was horrible. Martha screamed in pain, feeling the poison eat away at her wound and entering her body. Where did that Gible came from? Where? Like last time, the Iron Head wasn’t enough to draw blood, but it was still terribly painful nevertheless, especially with the purple sludge eating away at her skin and sickening her from the inside. The Spheal concentrated, cursing to herself. That stupid Gible is definitely behind her, so why did she have to attack the water. But, orders are orders. The Spheal opened her mouth and charged up her energy, trying to move her attention away from her injuries. Two different colored energies shot out of her mouth, one red and one blue. The beams started to swirl, and warped around each other, glowing brightly as they hit the water. There was a loud bang, the water sprayed into the air, and the beams penetrated the murky water. Martha moved her mouth, sweeping the entwined beams of energy across the bottom of the bay. The water grew murkier, as dust and rocks were once again stirred up by the beam. The Horsea had all disappeared; where they had decided to hide, nobody knew. Bits of seaweed floated up to the surface, and the water bubbled like some mad scientist’s soup. Something glowed, and what seemed like a Gible floated up to the surface, then fizzled out of existence. Martha took a deep breath and stopped the beam, collapsing on the ground from the exhaustion and the pain from the poison. The rain pounded mercilessly on her back, making the Spheal cringe with pain.

<Ribbon: -0HP -11E; Martha: -14HP -6E>

While Martha was busy beaming the water and destroying Horsea habitat, Ribbon was trying very hard to regain her balance. It was actually sort of funny to see the shark wobble back and forth and flailing her stubby arms about. Crazy Linoone gave a small giggle, but a glare from Ribbon shut her up. Ribbon finally lost to evolution and gravity as she toppled over to her side. Crap. The Gible continued to flail around in the sand, her short limps not helping her balance. Crap crap crap crap crap! Ribbon only hoped that the Spheal won’t attack her now; otherwise, she’d be dead meat.

Martha sighed and tried to relax, which was very hard with four throbbing wounds and poison in your systems. The Spheal closed her eyes and Chilled, twitching every now and then from the pain. Rain continued to fall from the sky, making her back throb, on her back, but, after a bit of rest, the Spheal felt a bit of her energy come back to her. She opened her eyes and pulled herself up again, only to squeal in pain again as she felt the poison seep through her blood.

Ribbon finally managed to pull herself up. She sighed in relief, thanking Arceus that the Spheal hadn’t attacked while she was down.

<Martha: -2HP +7E>

Rain pounded from the sky as Icalasari and Animorph continued their battle. The hailstones had mostly melted, but some still littered the beaches. The water was very murky; you literally couldn’t see an inch in that water. Pieces of seaweed floating in the water showed that there probably weren’t any of them left on the bottom of the bay anymore. The Horsea had all disappeared, too. Two Gibles stood on the beach behind a Spheal. The Shpeal had four very dinstinct holes on her body, two on her back and two on her left. The holes on her back had some slightly purplish ooze inside.

Whee! Ok, you should have at LEAST one clone left, Ribbon. Make that clone taunt Martha. Sure, you can't learn the attack, and as such, Martha will still be able to use non-offensive attacks, but the purpose of this isn't to force her to attack. No, the purpose is to get Martha to concentrate on the clone. While Martha is busy with the clone, I want you to rush to the water and hide in its murkiness, chilling out

If it ends up that your clone can't even do a non-attack taunt, then I will need you to try something else. In particular, I will need you to produce more clones instead, about 3, then go hide in the water with one of the clones and chill

Make clone taunt Martha/Double Team (3 clones) ~ Dive into water (with one clone if there is more than one left) and chill ~ Chill

Martha, Powder Snow, try to cover as much of the area as possible before she can dive back in. Now, I want you to poison the water with a toxic, and, after that, just chill.

Rain poured from the gloomy sky, drenching the poor referee (who hadn’t been smart enough to bring an umbrella) with ice cold water. What seemed like three Pokemon stood on the beach between the trainers Icalasari and Animorph: an very injured Spheal and two Gibles. The water by the bay was a murky mess; sand and bits of seaweed floated about, stirred up by the Spheal’s many beam attacks. The hailstones from before had all but melted now; if you look really closely, you might see a few tiny pieces of ice on the beach.

The referee, who now resembles a wet, dirty rag more than a badger, waved her flags. "Round four, Start!"

Taunt? Ribbon thought for a bit. She can’t use the attack Taunt, but since her trainer just wanted her to use the clone to distract Martha… Ribbon focused, ordering her clone to jump about and make generally rude gestures at the Spheal. Ribbon felt a bit guilty; she was a well-bred Gible, and making rude gestures at your opponent was usually frowned upon. Ribbon shrugged to herself and ran for the water. Who cares about it?

Martha was annoyed now. First, the Gible stabs her with spiky things. Then, the Gible poisons her with spiky things. Now, the Gible is making rude gestures at her and running for the water while she has to attack the ground[/b]? The Spheal gave an exasperated sigh and charged her energy. Orders are orders… Opening her mouth wide and cringing at the pain in her back, the Spheal let out a cold blast of air and powdery snow. Martha swept her attack across the bay, generally aiming at the taunting Gible but still keeping her eye on the Gible trying to get into the water. A thin layer of snow, white and fluffy, covered the beach and the taunting Gible. The taunting Gible started to glow, then dissipated into nothingness. Or course. It was a clone, after all…

<Ribbon: -0HP -1E; Martha: -0HP -3E>

Ribbon ran for her life. Being both Ground and Dragon types meant that she receives a lot of damage from Ice attacks, and she knew that much. She could see snow covering the beaches – melting, sure, but still snow nevertheless. The Gible could feel a blast of cold air behind her. The attack is going to hit, oh great Arceus… Ribbon leapt for her life straight into the murky water. She landed with a loud splash, feeling her clone fizzling out of existence behind her. Good thing rain makes her faster, otherwise the attack would have hit her for sure.

The water was dark, as sunlight (not like there was any, with the rain and all) couldn’t penetrate the thick layer of dust and sand. It was sort of like a sandstorm in this whirling madness; sand flew around at high speeds, and one couldn’t see a thing through the dust. Ribbon settled herself at the bottom of the bay and rested. The swishing of the water calmed her, and, being part Ground-type, the sandstorm-like environment didn’t bother her either. Where have the Horsea went…? Ribbon wondered absentmindedly as she Chilled.

Martha was set on revenge now. As long as she can beat that stupid, pathetic excuse for a Gible up, she’s happy. Her injuries still throbbed painfully, but this Toxic attack should teach the Gible what she’s made of! The Spheal growled menacingly and opened her mouth, spitting out a horrible blob of purple goo at the murky water. The poison landed with a small splash and slowly sunk down. Martha grinned evilly. Now the Gible shall suffer… If she aimed correctly.

<Ribbon: -0HP +8E; Martha: -0HP -5E>

The murky water wasn’t as bad as it seemed, Ribbon thought absentmindedly as she continued to Chill. It wasn’t muddy, just sort of, well, sandy. And the darkness was rather nice… Ribbon just hoped that the Horsea aren’t really injured by the sand. She thought she saw a dark shape, sort of like a Gible, in the waters, but decided that she must be imagining things. Or maybe not. She still had a clone left, didn’t she…?

The Gible, however, was completely oblivious to the fact that a blob of poison was slowly, but surely, starting spread. The water had been too saturated with sand and minerals to dissolve the toxic sludge, and the sludge had been too thick to flow around properly. However, with the whirling water, the sludge was being spread around, carried by bits of sand and seaweed. Whoever hit by the poison sand was going to get hurt…

Martha plopped down on the beach and sighed. The beach was turning icy from the melting powder snow, and the pouring rain was turning the ice and the sand into a sort of disgusting, annoying slush. The Spheal sighed again and settled down to Chill. She would rather prefer beating the heck out of the Gible, but she guessed that she would probably need energy to do so. The Spheal suddenly flinched as she felt the poison pulse through her body, and her back injuries started to throb uncontrollably. Martha swore under her breath and continued to chill. She is going to kill that stupid shark once it gets out of the stupid water.

Round 4 End

Post-Round

Rain poured down from the skies, drenching the two trainers, one Pokemon, and one referee. The agitated water was starting to calm down now, the sand slowly starting to settle. A Gible and her clone rested beneath the waters, oblivious to the blob of poison a few feet away from where they are. One very annoyed Spheal rested on the icy beach, dreaming of dead Gibles and torture chambers.

Alrighty then...So, Martha, let's churn up the bay a little bit with Surf. Aim the waves for the cliffs, and see if you can get Ribbon caught up in it...and try to spread around your delightful poison*Wow, multipurpose move*. After that, I want you to take a nice, long rest, and...err, do that thing where you mumble in your sleep.

Surf~Rest~Sleep talk

Heh. Ribbon, use your superior speed to get out of the water and use Protect, keeping you safe from poison. Make sure to avoid any sickly looking sand while doing so. Next, I want you to Chill while Spheal uses Rest. After that, well, it depends on what Spheal uses. If Spheal uses an offensive ice move (or ANY powerful offensive move in general), then use Protect. Otherwise, create four clones and do the following:

-You hide in the caves
-One of your clones hides in the caves on the opposite side of the Lagoon
-One of your clones loiters on the beach, out of range of Spheal
-One of your clones hangs just outside of the caves you are hiding in
-Your last clones hangs just outside of the caves the second clone is hiding in

Here is a diagram so that you don't get confused:

x = Ribbon OR a clone ---------- = = One of the MANY cave entrances
1 = Clone on the beach -------- | = Cliffs
- = Cave System -------------- s = Beach -------- w = water

|---|sssssssssssssssss1sssssssssssssssss|---|
|-x=sxsssssssswwwwwwwwwwwsssssssxs=x-|
|---|wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww|----|

(Crazy Linoone: Sorry about the directions ^^ I hope you won't need the diagram, because it may just confuse you more)

Get out of the water and use Protect ~ Chill ~ Double Team x4 and hide

Pre-Round

Rain was pouring from the sky, drumming the beach and the cliffs. One wouldn’t think that anyone would be insane enough to go out in this kind of weather, but no. Two trainers, Icalasari and Animorph, stood at either sides of the bay, each ready to beat the other to a pulp. Not literally, of course, since this is a Pokemon battle. One very annoyed Spheal sat at the end of the beach, looking like she’s in very much pain from the four injuries on her side and back. Although unseen, a Gible and her clone rested on the bottom of the murky waters of the bay. All the Horsea seemed to have disappeared.

The rather soggy Linoone referee waved her referee flags. “Round five, start!”

Round 5 Start

Martha grinned wickedly. Now’s the perfect chance to get her revenge on that stupid Gible. The Spheal focused, a light blue glow surrounding her body. A large wave reared out of the waters, carrying who-knows-what inside its muddy interior. Sand swirled around inside the surf, along with bits of strange purple stuff. The Surf attack was more like a Muddy Water attack, really, with all the sand and grit inside it. It would have done quite a lot of damage to Ribbon, if it hits.

However, Ribbon was way faster than Martha. The Gible, her body covered with wet sand, shot out of the water before the wave was even formed, and landed on the beach right by the cliffs, on the far end of the cove. The large wave reared out of the water and followed Ribbon, rushing at an amazing speed. The Gible turned around, just in time to see several tons of water and sand, not to mention a bit of poison, smashing into the cliffs with a loud bang, white foam spraying into the air. Powered by the rain, the Surf attack was even stronger than it would have usually been. When the wave receded, there was nothing left on the beach… Or was there?

A small lump of sand moved and slid away, revealing a small glowing dome of light. The dome fizzled a bit and faded. An unharmed Ribbon stood inside, complete with bits of wet sand still stuck to her body.

Unseen to all, a Gible clone under the water fizzled and disappeared with a small flash of light, scaring away a small group of Horsea.

<Ribbon: -0HP -9E; Martha: -0HP -5E>

Martha cursed. She had spent so much energy on her surf attack, and that Gible had avoided it with Protect? The Spheal sighed and settled down. She would rather beat the Gible up right now, but orders are orders. Martha closed her eyes, and a soft blue glow surrounded her as she sent herself to a deep state of calmness. White light sparkled off her back, and the injuries began to heal. The holes on her side and back sealed over and disappeared, and the poison left her body. Martha gave a little sigh of relief and continued to sleep.

Really though, Rest? Ribbon felt a bit annoyed. All her ramming attacks went to waste, just like that. Boom. The Gible sighed and looked around, making sure that there was no sickly-looking sand around her. There was a patch of suspicious-looking purple stuff to her left, right between her and the ocean, but that was about it. Better avoid that area… And the water seemed to be a slightly more purple color than before. Better avoid that, too. Well, since what she’s stepping on is safe, Ribbon took this moment and Chilled. Closing her eyes, the Gible felt some of her energy come back to her; good thing, too, as the Protect used up a lot of her energy.

<Ribbon: -0HP +10E; Martha: +28HP -14E>

The rain had washed away most of the sand on Ribbon’s body now. The Gible opened her eyes and watched Martha. Ribbon felt quite refreshed after resting a little, and was ready for her next action… Which depends on what the Spheal will be using, of course.

Martha, now completely healed, was still sleeping. She stirred, and mumbled something under her breath. A blue aura surrounded the Spheal, and the ball seal Pokemon started to glow, brighter and brighter. Suddenly, a beam of blue light shot out from the Spheal straight towards the sky. The temperature started to drop, and the rain stopped for a split second. Thunder roared in the clouds above, and the storm clouds swirled around the shaft of light. The Spheal stopped glowing, and the light faded. For a second, nothing happened. Then, it began to hail.

Ribbon groaned. Not again… She didn’t really like hail. It’s too cold, and it hurt when it hits her on the head. At least the Spheal didn’t use Ice Beam or whatever, the Gible thought to herself. Ice Beam would be even worse. But now, enough complaining. Ribbon started to run in circles, faster and faster until there was only a blur of blue. When she stopped, there were four other Gibles standing next to her. Now, for the complicated part. Ribbon waved her stubby arms around, calling out directions, and her clones followed. Three Gibles swam across the water to the other side of the cove, where the Spheal was. One of them walked into a small hole in the cliffs, disappearing into the darkness. Another Gible stood in front of the cave, blocking its entrance completely. The other Gible stood beside the Spheal, close enough so the Spheal could see it but far enough so the Speal can’t hit it with any close range attack. Yet another Gible, the one still on the opposite end of the lagoon from Spheal, loitered on the beach in front of a cave entrance. Ribbon grinned and surveyed her handiwork. Gible on the beach, check. Gible in the cave, check. Gible next to Martha, check. Gible in front of cave, check. Now… Ribbon walked into the cave, and moved her clone to block the entrance. Perfect.

The cave-tunnel-thing was pretty dark. No, that’s an understatement. The cave was really, really dark. It was pretty tall though, about five feet, so Ribbon fit quite nicely in it. The air was slightly damp, and the walls are not rough at all. The water probably smoothed it out, eroding the rocks away until it formed this nice system of tunnels. Ribbon decided that she’d better not go too far, least she gets lost. The good thing about the tunnel is that it’s blocking the hailstones that are continuously falling from the sky.

Round 5 End

Post-Round

Hail once again is pouring from the sky, pelting both the trainers and the referee with freezing chunks of ice. The only Pokemon that’s getting hit by the hail was the Spheal, but she wasn’t really affected anyway. There are three Gibles on the beach, two on Martha’s side and one on Martha’s opposite side. One Gible hid in the caves on Martha’s side, and another hid in the caves on the opposite side. The water was still as muddy as ever, and the Horsea are still nowhere to be found.

Alright, Ribbon, I want you to hide deeper in the caves until they are small enough to prevent dodging and chill for all three actions. If that Spheal finds and attacks you WITH A DAMAGING ATTACK, I want you to do the following:

Protect, then Dragon Rush. Dragon Rush shouldn't miss due to the confines of the cave

Hide deeper in the caves and Chill/Protect ~ Chill/Dragon Rush/Protect ~ Chill/Dragon Rush/Protect
