Kam vs. RandomTyphoon

Simple.

Start off with a Rain Dance.

After that, use Mirror Coat if it hits you with an Energy Ball or Thunder. If the move misses or it uses something else, use Aqua Tail if it's raining or Bite if it's not.

Arena:
The capital of Beaconia, Mareepolis is a small city most well known for its large bronze Mareep statue in the town square. This battle takes place in the streets within an area 10 meters long, where a crude Pokeball has been drawn in the center of the arena.

For the most part, this is a fairly vanilla place. However, each round, there is a 15% chance that one of the following events will occur on a randomly selected action:

50%: The Beaconian anthem will play, thus causing everyone on the arena to stop battling and stand at attention as the Beaconian flag is paraded through.
15%: The Beaconian second-in-command Aviculor will run through the town, with the Pokemon trailing him badly poisoning all combatants.
25%: The Pyromaniac will run through the town, burning all combatants.
10%: A golden statue belonging to the Q.U.I.R. will have been captured and thrown into the arena. It will fall on a random combatant, causing 5% typeless damage. After this occurs, all battlers will gain an extra $6 after the battle is over.
Arena status: Sunny Day is active (10 more actions). There's a deep hole in the center of the ring, with some sand at the bottom. Sand is scattered all over the arena.

-----

Striving to get one further knockout in, both trainers issued commands aiming to break through each other's strategy while inflicting damage -- and good amounts of it, too.

Shawn made the first move, gathering hidden Electric-type powers. With a jerk of his head, a blast of electricity shot toward the mob of Mudkips, going right through one of them -- one that vanished upon being struck. The attacker stomped the ground, frustrated by the miss.

Neverminding the lost member, the Kappas positioned themselves in order to form a circle, them started jumping around rhythmically, never undoing the circle. While they danced, they let out strange cries. The trainers began to feel droplets touch their bodies. A drizzle started, and gradually became thicker, even after the clones stopped performing the Rain Dance.

The Girafarig then took a close look. He noticed that the rain went right through three of his foes. Without hesitation, he leapt at the opponent that porved to be most solid; that was the right one, since the illusions all disappeared when the original was struck down. The attacker then let his anger over being poisoned and still tasting a Toxic free, releasing a frenzy of stomps to the enemy's face.

Right after the Facade attack, the Light Screen shattered itself at last, having been up for long enough to slightly tire out the tail-head that was keeping it up.

The Mudkip prepared to counterstrike. He leapt and swung his lower body, his tail forming a crest similar to a wave's. The attack struck its target square on one of the paws, tripping him.

Before the attacker could land, though, a psychic blast suddenly shot upward, striking him on the chin and making him flip around in the air as he fell down. The Future Sight attack was a success; after it struck, the victim even gained a red aura.

After some time, both Pokémon stood up, trying to shrug off damage they had received. Shawn moved promptly, once more summoning his grass-type powers; this time, however, the household plantlife supplied him with just one vine, one that knotted itself around one of Kappa's four stubby feet, making him trip as he tried to get back up. Ssomehow, though, the attack seemed to have been absolutely no hindrance to the target.

After a struggle with the potted growth, however, Kam's Pokémon prepared to counterstrike once more. It was the same move: his tailfin struck down like a wave, bashing the Girafarig's back mercilessly. This attack made it so he also had a red glow around him.

The battlers then distanced themselves from each other, seeking room to breathe.

Sleep Talk after that of course. However, if Kappa disrupts your Chill in any way, that turns it all around. Triple Facade, forget the Rest.

-----

Brutal power and careful technique were about to meet, as the trainers' commands for this round revealed.

Shawn found his next command a tad odd. Albeit somewhat tired, he still believed he could keep up the pace. Nonetheless, orders are orders; he laid down on the sandy ground, letting the rainclouds shower his backside.

His opponent wasn't that much willling to keep going, though. Kappa didn't leap and attack ferociously like before, instead merely swinging his tail limply. The wave crest formed once more; although less energetic, the attack was unchanged from the last two usages.

With the next order, the Girafarig realized what his mistress was up to with the first one. Rising to his feet slowly, he closed his eyes. A light blue aura surrounded him. His internal healing systems went hyperactive; his several bruises from being struck constantly were cured away, one by one. He dreamt of solving a case... In which a pineapple turnover was stolen.

Seeing the foe heal himself so effortlessly frustrated the Mudkip. He made haste to lay one more Aqua Tail down.

Meanwhile, in Shawn's dreams, he quickly found the criminal; upon detection, the criminal fled the scene. The detective began to chase him, running as fas as he could. His real self mimicked those movements; in his sprinting, he trampled the enemy. The sudden bump damaged even the attacker.

Kappa reacted; once more, he flicked his tail while Water-type power gave it the proprieties of a raging wave. As a red aura surrounded him, though, the sleeping giraffe didn't seem to mind the attack much.

Kam's Pokémon laid down on the sandy ground then, panting heavily. He could barely muster the energy to even open his eyes.

The criminal went that way. Ah-ha! Thanks to his trainer's guidance, Shawn now had the perp in sight.

As he uttered menacing, awesome one-liners, he gave chase; however, the man he was marking was much too fast. Suddenly, though, the chaser's two brains crafted an excellent idea. If I use my ability to swap skills, then maybe I'll become as fast as that scoundrel.

Meanwhile, in the real world, Kappa relaxed on the ground, letting of his stress for a while... Until he felt something strange. Like he was losing his sense of self. Like... His core abilities were being reshaped. Like he was losing some of his determination and will to fight, gaining instead focus and a sudden bout of energy -- though not enough to compensate for all that he spent.

In dreamland, the Girafarig had not gained the criminal's haste, but he certainly felt like he had gained more of a drive to keep on chasing, faster and faster. With a leap, he pinned the underhanded rogue, stomping him powerfully with his front legs. The stomps landed with such force... For some reason, they even made thunderous noises; certainly, the impact sounded much more forceful than it probably ought to sound.

Other thing that sounded thunderous was the sound of the drums as, once again, a tireless marching band sang and played down the streets of Mareepolis. The resting Mudkip really didn't care for the bangs; he couldn't get himself a proper recovery with all this impossibly loud music running through his head.

The echoing sound, of course, wouldn't very well let someone get a proper rest, neither. Shawn was abruptly interrupted from savouring his crime-solving alternate reality. Dammit! I was so close, too!

Letting his emotions fly, the just awakened Pokémon brought his Electric-type powers up again, controlling the volts on the stormclouds above him. The fury of Jupiter crashed through the air, leaving its target no chance to escape. Not even a crackling armor of mud could block the attack; in fact, that very same armor gave up after being struck down that way, leaving its owner completely exposed to further shocking assault.

After recomposing himself, though, Kappa saw the great opportunity. His opponent was already pissed; it would only take a few words to get him riled up into a chaotic, unruly rampage. Hey, sucker, how was the nap? You really need your beauty sleep, don't you? You know, it'd still take you a lot of beauty sleep to reach my level. But keep trying, I like to see you fail.

No amount of rain could quell the Girafarig's newfound, fiery rage.

-----

Once more, a round begins. The Pokémon face each other, feeling what probably were exactly opposite emotions. They receive their commands and ready to fight some more.

... Well, not exactly fight, as the next set of orders say that both of the battlers lay down and have a breather. Kappa is perfectly inclined to agree; however, Shawn is still seeing red, and thus, he's perfectly inclined to disobey direct orders if it means getting to stomp that pompous jerk around.

And so he tries; he takes a mighty leap, throwing all his weight toward the ground... But his unruly state didn't allow him to calculate properly. His hop took him a bit farther than he meant to be taken. A motion as reckless as his obviously wouldn't end in a smooth landing; instead, the Girafarig crashed. With a large smirk on his face, the Mudkip returned to his relaxing.

Hitting the ground so forcefully knocked a bit of sense into RandomTyphoon's soldier. Much as he wanted to smash the enemy's head until it was nothing more than a bloody pulp, he really was bushed and in need of a break. After all, in this condition, he wouldn't be able to strike at full force. So, he finally let himself step down... For the time being.

Seeking to frustrate his opponent even more, the second-in-command at Kam's pack ensured that he was within hostile eyesight for the next move. He closed his eyes. Enveloped in a light blue aura, he entered a state of deep trance, his wounds and bruises healing themsleves as if they were nothing.

After he was done closing his gashes, though, Kappa no longer looked like he was asleep. It seemed as though it was something more extreme. Something that his newly gained Early Bird ability wouldn't change. Could it be that he was... Knocked out?

The downpour was beggining to become thinner; at this time, the arena, as well as the trainers, was soaked.

Shawn felt something inside him change. As if it was something he had lost, but now regained. He felt more eager to battle and energetic, for some reason. What could it be?

what

...alright, I have a request.

You see, since when this battle began I had only three Pokemon, I am forced to use my Misdreavus. However, I had no intention whatsoever to use Envy. Should I send it out, it would give me an unfair type advantage.

What I would like to ask is if I coud have my active squad "refreshed", so to speak. Provided that Typh is okay with it, would it be possible to update my active squad in the first post so I'm not locked into using my Misdreavus?

You accepted a 3-on-3 match; this means you probably were aware that, unless you managed to flip out three Pokémon while only getting one flipped out, you'd have to use her, even if it meant a type disadvantage.

I'm pretty sure I shouldn't let you do that; if RandomTyphoon is okay with it, though, I might give it some more thought.

Alright, I suppose I'm allowed to do it, at least this time.

So, Kam, your active squad currently consists of (excluing Pokémon that have been KO'd this match):

- Envy (Female Misdreavus - Levitate - @Dusk Stone)
- Tesla (Female Mareep - Static)
- Godot (Male Seedot - Chlorophyll - @Leaf Stone)
- Porky (Male Swinub - Oblivious)
- Yeti (Male Snover - Snow Warning)
- Nostrilla (Male Stunky - Aftermath)
- Lexington (Female Sentret - Keen Eye)
- Fudgie (Male Wailmer - Oblivious)

That's... Quite bigger than the one you had at the beggining. But, go ahead, choose one.

If that's so, then let's go with... my Stunky.

Stinky Joe, gogogo! Time to let that overgrown giraffe get a whiff of this!
