• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Misreadings and stuff

I just now misread two things in threads right here on this forum.

"Ridiculous" as "Righteous" (in the title of "the very ridiculous cutie mark generator")... and then "My Bucket's Got A Hole In It" as "My Bucket's Got A-Holes In It."

...apparently I misread stuff a lot.

A shirt that said "I love redheads" was misread as "I love red crabs." And then I misread "psycho pageant kid," the title of a Youtube video someone posted, as "psycho pregnant kid."

While in a chat room, misread a username. It made me wonder what kind of chat I was in...
"Bonnie Lass" as "Hot Ass".

Also I saw "February" as "Ferngully" a couple of times.

"Ferngully" as "F'nglui". I know "ph" is pronounced like "f", but it still looks weird.

"Unreal Air" as "Uncool Air". Wow, a strange opposite of Cool Air.

And "beaten to death with a bag of nails" as "beaten to death with a bag of snails".

for some reason my brain forgot to not carry over what i'd been reading, so the typical borked-server message turned into "the server doesn't exist."

this may be a problem.

"Get the energy facts" on a Facebook ad just now somehow became "Get the fergy effect" when I read it the first time...

"1200" as "ROO."

It looked as though the "1" and "2" made an "R" because of the way this guy wrote it down, and it took me about five minutes to realize I was reading it wrong.

"The Aztec civilization started back in ROO AD." I wonder how I didn't catch that?
