• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Sorry, forgot about the limit thing+I'm not deleting them, it's doing that by itself/ how do I fix it?

Arena: The turtle clan forest

This areana is a large jungle in the middle of nowhere. The turtle clan used to be a clan of Torkoal, Squirtle and Turtwig evolution lines, but collapsed many years ago. These days, th only thing that remained from this Clan are some small ruins. However, the thing that was the most important to them still exists- a gigantic Torterra shell made of pure gold, the around 50 square meters in size. Under this shell, lots of turtle pokemon(Turtwig, Squirtle and Torkoal) nest. In the middle of the arena, there is a deep, 10 feet wide river, and there are several sand dunes around. Finally, there is a gigantic fence around the arena, making sure no one escapes.
There are several black walls in the arena, allowing small pokemon to gain some partial cover.

Every round, there is a 50% chance that either a Turtwig, a Squirtle, or a Torkoal will come out of the golden shell and use either Leaf Storm, Hydro Pump or Overheat, respectively, on one of the battlers(each has a 33% chance). However, they will not attack a turtle pokemon(Turtwig/Squirtle).
In addition, because of the strong aura that emants from the place, a turtle pokemon that fights in this areana will deal 1% more damage for each of its attacks, and they will cost 1% less energy.

If the battle lasts for more than 6 rounds, something especially wierd will happen- the Torterra shell will come to life, it will grow a golden torkoal head, and golden Blastoise forelegs, and legs. Then, it will start running around in a rampage, releasing 10% typeless damage attacks with 60% accuracy that will hurt both battlers if they hit them. It will attack once a round, and will last for 2 rounds. After that, it will go back to its shell, and around 20 Salac berries will grow around it.

Other: Only fist stage(first out of three stages, that is) pokemon area allowed. In addition, Oran berries are growing on the ground, and while one might not take them, they can eat them on the spot.

This flat landscape has the most beautiful lush, green grass with flowers sprouting in multiple places. It looks harmless, but you will soon see that there are rocks around the perimeter at this field that cause some trouble for the Pokemon. In addition to the multiple rocks surrounding the field, there are also trees that may contain Beedrill. If you bump into a tree, there is a high risk the Beedrill will attack, before fleeing.
It is very sunny, and there's not a cloud in the sky.

Quoting works perfectly fine for me; everything is copied verbatim. Perhaps it is an issue with your browser, but in general I would advise you to just be more careful in that regard.

Arena: Ruined Castle

Hurrah! Yet another victory for a massive medieval empire in the 15th century. Unfortunately for the defending side, their fortress can hardly be classified as so anymore. Heaps of rubble are scattered across the once prospering town, some buildings are nothing but a wooden frame, others have decimated completely. Using the wonders of futuristic science and time travel, a Pokemon battle is to take place in the castle presiding over the town, immediately after the area had been scourged.

Only the bottom floor of the castle is strong enough to be stood on, but even that is a bit iffy. There are two empty thrones on the left side of the field, and across from there is a large doorway, now missing the doors. Battling in such a forsaken place so soon after it was attacked has its risks, so one of the following may occur every other round:

-The unstable wooden floor may give way. You won't fall very far, but will get stuck and will be unable to escape until the end of the round. 40% chance of this happening.

-Enemy knights may hear the ruckus of battle, and charge in through the door attacking both Pokemon for 10% Steel type damage as a warning to get out. 30% chance of this happening.

-Surviving servants may come out of hiding long enough to feed one randomly chosen Pokemon on the field, healing them by 10%. 30% chance of this happening.

Other: No Pokemon that require water.

2vs2vs2 three-way battle, one pokemon per trainer at a time
Style: Switch
DQ: 12 Days

Banned Moves: Arena: A Hearty Bowl of Offal Soup

It’s not just hearty either, but livery and brainy as well.

Bad puns aside, the Offal Soup is, like all Linoone arenas, contained in a very large bowl with a diameter of two Wailords and a depth of one and a half, so a Wailord can actually battle in it, just not very easily. Three platforms, shaped like a liver, brain, and a heart, float nearby for the trainers to stand on, while a fourth platform in the shape of an offal of the referee’s choice floats in an area of the referee’s choice.

Now, let’s move on to the actual arena. The Offal Soup is a delicious grayish brown color, not comparable to poop because poop is browner and (probably) not as delicious. Small specks of grayish brown meat bits and protein condensations float in the soup, making the clear, light brown soup look foggy. The soup had been cooked for eight hours straight so the strong flavor of meat could fully diffuse into the soup, and it is made from three main ingredients: the lighter colored, melt-in-your-mouth soft brain, the darker colored, soft and squishy livers, and the even darker colored, chewy and hearts. Those three ingredients make up the heart of the arena, taking up most of the space and making the arena appear slightly solid. Due to this, water-only pokemon are not encouraged, since they won’t be able to see very well swimming in the arena. A meaty aroma wafts up from the arena, deliciously sweet for meat-lovers and horrible to vegetarians.

As with all Linoone arenas, the soup is edible. Although this bowl of soup may look disgusting to the untrained eye, it’s actually quite nutritious and full of protein as well as other kinds of goodies. As all EV trainers know, Protein in the pokemon world, for some reason, boosts attack, and the soup does exactly that. One bite of the deliciously chewy and protein-full heart will boost the Attack of the pokemon by 1. While the brain doesn’t contain much calcium, Special Attack has long been associated with smartness, and eating some of the wonderfully smooth brains will boost Special Attack by 1. The liver is just healthy and restores 5% HP to all pokemon that eats it, while the soup itself, full of nutrients from the ingredients, can boost a random stat of the pokemon by 1. All foods restore 5% energy in addition to other special effects when eaten. Any pokemon may take an action to eat the ingredients, although it might be hard for a pokemon to distinguish one type of offal from another when their trainers are not being very specific. After all, everything is brown.

Linoone finally had the courtesy of cooling down the soup enough so pokemon don’t get burnt battling on top. The soup is just a comfortable warmness, and will continue to cool down as the battle progresses.

Since the brain, the most prominent part of the soup, is a non-Newtonian fluid, one will find him/her/itself slowly sinking through the soup if he/she/it is stepping on the brainy part of the soup, but if one crashes into the brainy part with a lot of force, it will hurt. The livers and heart normally solid, although the livers break under pressure and the hearts are more bouncy. Remember, all these can be used to the battlers’ advantage, so watch your step.

Other: For Mikeh and Dwageh~ Also, anyone who reffs this is automatically awesome.

DQ: 1 week
Damage Cap: 50%
Banned Moves: OHKOs, direct healing, weather moves.
Arena: Apocalypse in Hoenn

Two trainers decided to battle in a small island somewhere in the eastern seas of Hoenn. The fact that Groudon and Kyogre have been awakened and are bashing heads against each other in Sootopolis did not change their resolve to duel. The match begins under a randomly chosen weather condition (between Sunny Day and Rain Dance). At the end of each round, there's a 70% chance the weather will change from Sunny Day to Rain Dance or the other way around. Additionally, each consequence of the weather (if possible) will be doubled (e.g. Swift Swim Pokémon will be four times as fast in the rain, Thunder will be 25% accurate in the sun). Weather-changing abilities that don't deal with sun or rain (i.e. Sand Stream and Snow Warning) will not activate, as won't signature attributes that do such.

There is a group of coconut trees in the middle, players can spent one action telling their pokémon to drink coconut water, the water can recover the pokémon HP and Energy by 1~10% (random).
