• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Twilight Forest

K'yoril

Ahem. Shadow Lairon is better.
Twilight Forest:

Twilight Forest is a mist shrouded mountain rising up from an ancient forest, that few have entered and returned from still sane. Mist obscures the path as it climbs through the forest, emerging halfway up the mountain, still toiling its way towards the frozen peak.

This Safari Zone will work somewhat like a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure.

You get 10 turns, and for every two encounters (Item or Pokemon), you will owe me 1$ (rounded up)at the end of your visit. Since there is a night and day, you will get 4 turns during daylight, 2 turns during twilight, and 4 turns during the night. Day and night have similar possibilities for encounters, as well as a 1 in 2 chance for an encounter, while twilight has all of the pokemon in this Safari Zone available, but at a reduced encounter rate of 1 in 3, as well as a few twilight only pokemon. You may only carry one item and pokemon with you at a time, but may switch them for another at any time. Once you run out of turns, you must leave the forest never to return, coming back as often as you are willing to pay.

If you encounter a Relic or Strange Tablet, these do not count as encounters, but will affect your time here. They also do not count as items, and cannot leave the premises. A Relic will burden you down, granting you to extra turns at the end of your stay, allowing access to the dawn stage, the same as twilight, but with some different pokemon. A Strange Tablet will have a riddle or puzzle inscribed on its surface, which I will pm you. Once you solve this puzzle, you will receive the pokemon that is the answer to the puzzle. Pm me the answer for the reward, but please do not share this with anyone else, as I only have a certain number of them, and would like to not have to make more.

There are three areas to my Safari Zone, the Twilight Forest, the Steep Ascent, and the Frozen Peak. You must start in the Twilight Forest unless you bring a pokemon capable of learning the move teleport, in which case you can go to any area you wish at any time during your visit. Each area has a secret area as well, accessible by asking to visit something I described on your journey without prompting. Each Secret Area can only be visited once per visit. Also, while crossing between two areas, you will have a chance to catch a pokemon from both the areas involved.

The Twilight Forest
The first area available, by day filled as any other forest would be, by night haunted by ghosts and shadows. It does not require any special pokemon normally, however, one secret area requires a pokemon that can learn the move dive.

Recorded Encounters:
zigzagoon panpour zangoose corphish hoothoot

Miracle Seed - Dusk Stone

The Steep Ascent
Where most intrepid Pokemon Trainers would stop, this area is filled to the brim with mountain dwellers and fearless phantoms. It reguires no special pokemon.

Recorded Encounters:
geodude rufflet rhyhorn roggenrola Larvitar

Oran Berry

The Frozen Peak
Only accessible to those with a trusty psychic type or through forced marching, this bitter landscape abounds with Ice types and the resident spirits will certainly give you a chill. On second thought, that might just be the temperature... This are requires a pokemon capable of inflicting the burn status on a pokemon, so many a fire type, or even a ghost with will'o'wisp will do.

Recorded Encounters:
swinub chimecho

Armor Fossil - NevermeltIce

Blackened Scar - New!
A recent forest fire has burnt away a large swathe of trees, leaving a desolate, blackened husk of the life that used to exist here. Unattractive to most pokemon, this deadened area has become the home to many fire types, and even a few poison and ghost types have moved in. All that is required for this are is a strong will and a stout heart.

Recorded Encounters

None so far.

Enjoy!

I'd to go to The Frozen Peak with my Charmander.

It's kinda vague, but it says you need to start in the Twilight Forest first, and need the fire type to get into the Frozen Peak area. Do you still want to go in?

Anyways, You enter the sun-streaked forest, intent on finding a pokemon. As you wander down the path you can hear the wind rustling through the trees and the sound of running water off to your left. As quick as lightning, a zigzagoon dashes across the path, leaving a trail of dust. A second one soon follows, but stops part-way across the dirt track and stares at you, head cocked.

Stumbling along the path, you trip over a rock, only to turn around and see nothing. Shrugging your shoulders you stand up and come face to face with a Geodude. Behind it, the path continues straight up to the peak, and you can see a small depression in the land near the path.

He is very manly. ♂

1.Capture it and replace Zigzagoon, or continue on?
2.Continue up the path to the Frozen Peak, explore the Steep Ascent for a bit, or head back down to the Twilight Forest?

After some time, you finally come to the peak of the mountain, shivering with cold, but kept somewhat warmer by your Charmander. Up ahead, you can barely hear the bubbling of water. Squinting through the snow, you can make out a small moving shape. You trudge closer and make out a Swinub digging through the snow in search of berries. It seems to have found something, but not what it expected. Upon further inspection, it turns out to be an Armor Fossil.

While stumbling along the peak, looking for pokemon, you trip and your hand touches an upside-down icicle, nearly freezing your fingers to it. Shocked, You pull back your hand and look at the NevermeltIce you just found. The persistent bubbling sound is now off to your right.

Item:Armor Fossil

Dissapointed with your finds on the Frozen Peak, you trudge back down the path out of the freezing wind. Seeing it from above, you realize the depression from earlier was actually a crater. Interesting. Upon reaching a less steep area, you stop for a rest. A shadow Passes overhead and then lands a short distance away. Turning to investigate, you spot a young Rufflet, also taking a rest.

rufflet
Always a male. ♂

Pick one of each.
1.Replace Zigzagoon with Rufflet, or leave the bird be?
2. Continue searching on the Steep Ascent, head up to the Frozen Peak, or Wander down towards the twilight Forest?

Annoyed with your finds thus far, you continue to wander around the Twilight Forest, the ever present roaring of the waterfall directly ahead now. A twig snaps behind you, and you twirl to reveal...Nothing... All of a sudden, a lively Panpour drops onto your head, startling you.

1.Catch Panpour or leave it alone? (Keep in mind that he's rare and you can always switch later)
