2vs2 Singles
Style: Set
DQ: 7 days
Damage Cap: 40%
Banned Moves: Direct recovery, Pain Split, any moves that instantly faint a battler (Explosion, OHKOs, Destiny Bond, Perish Song, etc.). Chills are restricted to 5 per Pokémon.
Arena: Mockery Marsh

This vile swamp is so deeply covered in toxic gas and venomous beings, it's impossible to visit it without wearing a protective suit. As such, any non-Poison type Pokémon will take 5% Poison-type damage each round. Poison-types will thrive in this virulent enviroment, however, and heal 2% health per round. However, the shifting creatures of the marsh will constantly make fun of the Poison-type, and thus, any Pokémon of that type is constantly Tormented, and any Pokémon that uses a move of that type becomes Tormented for a normal duration.

USJ sends out, MF sends out and attacks, USJ attacks.

Golly gee, only when I've known exactly what I'd been planning to send out ever since the start of the match do I get to send out second.

Roll out, Safetymouse.

Start with Ice Beam, then try a Blizzard and finish with another Ice Beam. Disable Earthquake if they use it (if for some reason you don't manage it the first time, though, get back to these first few orders). If they're underground by the time you'd attack them, alternate Defense Curl and Focus Energy instead.

Ice Beam/Disable/Defense Curl ~ Blizzard/Disable/Focus Energy ~ Ice Beam/Disable/Defense Curl

Drilly, dig under the ground to dodge it. If they try to attack again, then use bide. If not, Metal Claw. Then use dig to go back underground.

DIG- Bide/Metal Claw - DIG

While Safetymouse seems to thrive in the virulent toxins of the marsh, Drilly is impatient to be out of here. She glances quickly at her foe, then dives into the ground claws-first, digging so furiously that she disappears within seconds. Safetymouse can still feel - and hear - the drilbur digging away far below her, and doesn't hesitate before curling up into a tight ball, hardening her thick body's defenses for any incoming blow. And she's glad she did, because the vibrations below her grow louder and louder until suddenly Drilly erupts right underneath her, slamming straight into her spine. Safetymouse screeches in pain, unfolding from her curl and jumping away; the pain is unbelievable, like being hit with a battering ram in, well, the spine. Luckily there's no permanent damage beyond a thick bruise, but it definitely hurts to move.

She doesn't even notice that one of her barbed spines pricked Drilly, seeping poison into her bloodstream; the drilbur doesn't notice either, not yet anyhow, except to wonder at that strange prickly feeling on her paw.

Safetymouse sighs, putting aside her pain for now and instead drawing in a deep breath. The breath cools in her chest, and she has to let it out before it freezes inside her - and so she does, exhaling a thick beam of ice towards Drilly, layering it all over the drilbur's stomach area. Drilly moans in pain but doesn't even move; she glows slightly, barely noticeable under the glow of the ice itself, which is coating the drilbur so heavily that it seems not to even melt. Drilly grits her teeth, and shakes off some - most - of the ice, but around her stomach, a thick coating of it remains; so much that it would make it difficult to move, if she wanted to.

But she doesn't; she stays in place, for now, contemplating her pain. Safetymouse doesn't waste her opportunity, and instead lets loose another beam of ice, this one thickening the coat that already covered Drilly's stomach. The drilbur's whimpering increase, as does the red glow surrounding her; but her frozen stomach does too, and it's clear it'll take something impressive to break that ice. Something more than Drilly's got right now, because the drilbur does absolutely nothing, much to Safetymouse's pleasure. She's rather comforted, after that first blow, by her's opponent's dire state: both frozen and not attacking. She really is please.

Arena Notes:
There's a smallish hole going down and back up near the two battlers.

Final Notes:
- Dig was a critical hit.
- It also activated Poison Point.
- The first ice beam froze Drilly.
- Ultra-Saiyan Jace next.

Is that to mean Bide will be released in the first action this round, or that Drilly will spend another action Biding before releasing it?

Use Agility to give you some Digging Speed. Then use Metal Claw as soon as you break out

Agility - Dig - Metal Claw

{Bide should be unleashed as Drilly gets out of the dig, correct??}

For starters, pop yourself a 10% Substitute.

If it's broken before the next action, go with Counter; else, spike with Poison Tail.

Either way, finish up with Water Pulse.

Drilly's face contorted, either in pain or simply focusing; she stared at Safetymouse, waiting, just waiting. Safetymouse eyes the drillbur's strange behavior, but doesn't pay it too much attention, since she's been doing that for a while now, so it can't be that worrying. Instead she gathers up some of the toxic goop that makes up the arena, piling it up into a strange nidorina-like shape. She spits a bit of her own venom into it, enough that she can feel the drop in her energy; and the pile of sludge sloops upwards, a head and arms suddenly stretching out, ears popping out of the head as well as a tiny horn; it manages to waddle forwards on its little stubby legs, and even bobs its tail. It moves forwards, in front of Safetymouse, protecting its creator; and just in time, too.

Drilly's face contorts even further, her eyes squinting tight and her nose scrunching up; she just can't hold it any longer. She yelps as the energy explodes outwards, splitting through the ice that encases her and slamming hard into the substitute, ripping it apart and flinging sludge everywhere. The energy fades, revealing a sludge-covered, but still rather healthy Safetymouse; and the ice covering Drilly is still there, if a bit less solid.

Safetymouse grins; a short-lived substitute, yeah, but she escaped that pretty well. She gets down on al fours and braces herself, preparing for the incoming attack. It'll be a bit hard to prepare for, though, because Drilly plans on hitting from below. The drilbur claws its way underground, its journey made a bit cumbersome by the ice coating its stomach, but not too much so. She shoveled her way down, then forwards and finally up, right under the nidorina she intended to hit. She shoved her way out of the ground and slammed into Safetymouse, tossing the nidorina into the air; Safetymouse lands with a whumf, apparently prepared, and responds with a burst of energy in Drilly's direction. While the dig certainly hurt Safetymouse, it's nothing compared to this - Drilly is flung backwards, landing on her back and skidding to a stop in the sludgewater. She whimpers as she gets to her feet; the heat from the counter burnt off most of the remaining ice, but Drilly is far from grateful. She limps forwards, getting her pace back.

Safetymouse doesn't wait though, not this time. She takes a deep breath and screeches, a torrent of water flushing forwards with the screams; the water and echoes hit Drilly smack in the stomach. The poor drilbur curls up, looking so pained that she might just throw up. It's either that or faint, and she's quite close to the latter. The water stops coming, only a few drops dripping from Safetymouse's mouth, and she licks her lips satisfactorily. Drilly uncurls, walking hesitantly towards her assailant.

She raises a claw into the air, and it shimmers silver; Safetymouse eyes it, but has no time to react before Drilly swipes the claws across Safetymouse's thick hide, forming thin scratch marks. Though Safetymouse takes little notice of the attack other than to grunt in annoyance, Drilly's claws are noticeably sharper afterwards; perhaps the needed bonus she needs, at this point. And Safetymouse notices her hide isn't as thick as before - it held up against Drilly's claws, but it seems to be a bit softer now. Shame.

Arena Notes:
There's two drilbur-sized holes leading to a small tunnel underground.

Final Notes:
- Other attacks can't be used while biding.
- Bide was released after Safetymouse created the substitute, and it effectively destroyed said substitute.
- Bide also created enough energy to melt some of the ice, though there's still some left.
- Dig cost Drilly extra energy due to the ice weighing her down.
- Metal Claw raised Drilly's attack.
- And Safetymouse's defense boost faded at the end of the round.
- Metallica Fanboy next.

FINISH HER.

Spike with Blizzard, follow with Bubblebeam and finish with Ice Beam if there's still any such need. Again, if they're underground or Protecting while you're moving to attack: Focus Energy, then Hone Claws, and lastly, Focus Energy if you haven't used it already, and Hone Claws if you have.

Blizzard/Focus Energy ~ Bubblebeam/Hone Claws ~ Ice Beam/Focus Energy/Hone Claws

Ultra-Saiyan Jace is DQ'd. Metallica Fanboy gets $8, I get $5; Safetymouse and Drilly both get 1 exp.
