Volcaluga are humongous brown whales with red underbellies.

Notes: Due to their massive size and shape, they have difficulty moving around.
They can swim and dive, since they are based on whales, and have considerably better mobility when submerged in water or lava.

I'm assuming it's okay here, but I might be wrong.

Hmmm...I'm not sure about all this, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Something about a fire type that can swim...without knowing anything like surf. But if it passes one of the other approvers, then I'll go along with it.

Pokédex Data: Can imitate a pebble by tucking its tail and muzzle inside its unhatched egg. It does not approve of being thrown or stepped on.
Because they are very frail, Dragomelet newborns usually remain inside their stone eggshell right until evolution, though it may pop its head out to feed or attack foes. Even a terribly fractured Dragomelet egg provides impressive protection.

Evolution: Dragomelet -> Obsidrake (lv25) -> Wyrmarble (lv50)

Physical Description: Obsidrake has emerged from its egg to become a longish serpentine dragon, the top section of its egg still on its head. It has a long tail with a rocky spike at the end, three similar spikes running across its back, and two large front arms with very sharp claws. Males have a horn projecting from their head, whereas females do not.

Female:

Pokédex Data: Its entire body is coated in a protective layer of incredibly sharp, tiny rock fragments. This layer is impossible to remove, so nobody knows what colour this Pokemon truly is.
Males have a long, sharp horn used for fighting other males over food and territory. Its underside is smooth and vulnerable, but its weight makes it terribly hard to push over.

Evolution: Dragomelet -> Obsidrake (lv25) -> Wyrmarble (lv50)
Rarity: r7

Physical Description: Wyrmarble has finally evolved into a hideous monstrous dragon monster that destroys everything, similar in form to Salamence or Dialga. The shell on its head has sprouted horns and become a helmet; these horns are far more pronounced in males. A layer of rock coats its chest. A huge stalagmite conceals each limb, and the back spines from before have grown even longer. The tail spine has totally transformed into an enormous spiked club.

Female:

Pokédex Data: Wyrmarble maintains its impressive stone armour by eating boulders. The massive club at the end of its tail can destroy buildings in a single blow.
The males fight by clashing their long, curved horns and slamming each other with their enormous boulder-like tales. Old legends say the chaos caused by these fights causes entire continents to shift.

I also changed the names, abilities and movesets a bit. Hope they're all okay.

Ok, this looks really neat~. I don't see anything wrong, so i'll say Approved on my part. If I have missed anything, I'm sure one of the more senior approvers will point it out.

D'oh! I forgot to mention what egg group my line is in. I'll edit it into the original post- but it's Ground.

It's a whale, and thus it can swim. I can understand why you'd be hesitant, but it not like it's like Charmander and has an open flame on its body.

All of the line can earn Surf, btw, but I had to remove it from the line because of the tm restrictions.

If everything's okay otherwise, then I'll make Volcaluga's sprite.

Must make sprites of Canigloo now

Kammington

Okay for the most part, though I'd really like to see the sprites before making a final decision.

Mike the Foxhog

Obsidrake and wyrmarble (you should switch their names, IMO, but whatever you think is best) have one too many TMs by my count; until a final decision is made about increasing moveslots, you'll need to take one off of each. Also, I question how female obsidrake can use megahorn without any horn to speak of. I let the move go before because you hadn't indicated that there would be gender differences, but now it doesn't make a lot of sense. Either replace it with another move and save it for wyrmarble, or try having the males learn megahorn and giving the females something else (if it's okay with Negrek; really, I'd just take megahorn off that stage entirely).

Alraunne

Take outrage off of the tutor moves; there's nothing that indicates that these should be capable of that kind of fury/destructive power. I'm also a little leery about a light non-ground-type learning earthquake, but on closer inspection it looks like more light pokémon get it than I thought. I'll let it slide, but replace outrage with something else. Metronome should really only be learned by things with hands unless something specific indicates otherwise; my caslot, for example, is specifically described as using its tails as metronomes, and the move fits into its design. If just anything with a tail could twitch it a little and Let There Be Explosions, well, then everything with a tail would be able to learn it. Can these at least stand on their hind legs for a short period of time?

Outrage was a nod to Skunkunne's flavor text, but I didn't have much room left in Skunkunne's pool so I just stuck it in the tutor moves. That put it in Alrunnik's arsenal and now that you mention it, it's not as fitting, I guess. I'll find something to switch that out with.

And yes, Skunkunne probably could stand up on two legs for a short time with its big tail for balance. (and if real skunks can do handstands then a Pokemon skunk could probably stand on its back feet) It's not particularly dexterous with its front paws, though, and it'd be something closer to a cat standing up. Being a tutor move kind of implies that it could be taught to do that, though, right? :B not to be argumentative or anything, I don't mind changing it.

I did see the note in its flavor text; it's just that it then went on to clarify that it defended them with poison, which still doesn't have much to do with a tauros/gyarados/etc-esque rageragerage. As for metronome... eh, I still think that's stretching it a bit. Meowth can technically stand on its hind legs, too, now I think about it, but it doesn't get the move. I'd look for a replacement; if another approver happens to disagree and says so before you find a more suitable option, though, you can keep it on there.

Alrunnik is a small, brown, furry mammal with big blue eyes. It has two light brown circles below its eyes, and two stripes that start above the eyes and join at the tip of the tail. It also has a light, fluffy mane.

Pokédex Data: ALRUNNIK is a friendly species. However, when frightened it will spray a noxious fluid from a gland at the tail.

ALRUNNIK love being helpful, but they have a voracious appetite. House pets often become overweight if left unchecked.

If I don't have two battles under my belt yet, can I still get a line approved 'in spirit', as it were?

As in, I'll have to wait until my two battles are done before it becomes a real Pokemon, but until then I know that they'll work. It's just, I've had these ideas for ages and I really want to use them soon, but my first battle has yet to be picked up by a ref :(

asgsfds why can't I learn to count and double-check my movesets.
And I agree about the names, actually, Kratos. Swapping those round too.

Soo. Swapping Obsidrake (the new Wyrmarble)'s Megahorn for Skull Bash and taking away Rock Smash from the whole line then giving Dragomelet TM59 to bring it up to the full number of TMs again.

Evolution: Dragomelet -> Wyrmarble (lv25) -> Obsidrake (lv50)

Physical Description: Wyrmarble has emerged from its egg to become a longish serpentine dragon, the top section of its egg still on its head. It has a long tail with a rocky spike at the end, three similar spikes running across its back, and two large front arms with very sharp claws. Males have a horn projecting from their head, whereas females do not.

Males have a long, sharp horn used for fighting other males over food and territory. Its underside is smooth and vulnerable, but its weight makes it terribly hard to push over.

Evolution: Dragomelet -> Wyrmarble (lv25) -> Obsidrake (lv50)
Rarity: r7

Physical Description: Obsidrake has finally evolved into a hideous monstrous dragon monster that destroys everything, similar in form to Salamence or Dialga. The shell on its head has sprouted horns and become a helmet; these horns are far more pronounced in males. A layer of rock coats its chest. A huge stalagmite conceals each limb, and the back spines from before have grown even longer. The tail spine has totally transformed into an enormous spiked club.

Pokédex Data: Obsidrake maintains its impressive stone armour by eating boulders. The massive club at the end of its tail can destroy buildings in a single blow.
The males fight by clashing their long, curved horns and slamming each other with their enormous boulder-like tails. Old legends say the chaos caused by these fights causes entire continents to shift.

Looks good. You've got an approval from me, and you can go ahead and have the $30 bounty (you can just link to this post, I guess).

Kam

...it'd be nice if there was a bit more difference between the two stages, though I'm probably not one to talk about that. If it's okay to do so with no actual image for the final stage (please do try to get one soon), the line is approved.

Mike

Better. Approved.

I actually do have Volcaluga's sprite, if you need it.

I'll repost the line with both in a minute; I have the two battles, and I had some minor changes I wanted to change.

I didn't get this; how many level-up moves and TM/HM moves can the first of a two stage evolution learn? (Argh, why can I never get stuff!?)

Doesn't matter how many stages the line has, a stage one is a stage one and a stage two is a stage two. That's one of the things that's going to be fixed in the next update, though, if I'm thinking right.

Alraunne: Looks good to me, approved

Mike: This thing is really cute~ and it looks good to me. Approved

They are very quick to anger and are easily enraged.

Good? I screwed with the learnsets a bit (namely, giving it Smokescreen instead of Astonish, Smog instead of a second Body Slam, and Thunder Fang as an egg move in place of Defense Curl), but it’s not a huge change.

Battle one and two!

Kam

Actually, a few more things that I missed before. You're missing pokédex entries, first of all; there's also a cut-off sentence in magmeluga's notes, so you probably want to finish your thought or remove that. Additionally, I'm not entirely sure if blast burn is allowed; I got the impression that the way Negrek worded it means that the elemental hyper beams are excluded, though I could be mistaken. I'm a little iffy on shadow ball, too, now I look again, but if it's okay with another approver it can slide.

(First set of sprites by purplemew12; I'll separate and transparentize them later. Second sprite by blazheirio889.)

Physical Description: Wyrmal is long and serpentine with a soft, flexible body. Magma inside of its body gives it a reddish color. Two bright red plumes sprout from the top of its head. Older wyrmal have a few chunks of collected sediment clinging to their bodies here and there.

Pokédex Data:

The magma inside of Wyrmal keeps it warm even in the frigid depths of the ocean. This allows it to swim around the seafloor much faster than the other, slower creatures that live there.

When it is nearing evolution Wyrmal slows down, settling near the hydrothermal vents on the ocean floor. The sediment ejected from the vents collects and solidifies on Wyrmal's body, forming a sturdy shell that is as hard as stone.

Wyrmal hatch near hydrothermal vents on the sea floor and generally do not venture far from them. Their soft, flexible bodies are filled with magma that gives them energy in the cold depths of the sea so that they can move around and catch their food. As the Wyrmal grow older, they no longer have much need to move around; they settle near the vents and begin to collect sediment deposited by the black smokers.

Evolution: Wyrmal -lv35-> Ventorm

Rarity: R8

(sprite by Pray for Plagues. I know it's kind of messy and not transparent (though I can transparentize it myself when I have a little more time); it should do until I can get a cleaner one, though, and since it would take 4 exp to evolve it'll be a while before anyone needs it anyway.)

Physical Description: Ventorm's long, whitish body seems to grow out of a heavy, rock-like shell of collected and hardened sediment. Its internal magma reserves are stored in this shell. A thick black cloud of sediment and gases (and smoke, if on land) issues from several openings in the shell. Two sets of red plumes grow around its eyes and down its snout, which ends in a beak-like mouth.

Pokédex Data:

Ventorm live at the bottom of the sea. Their heavy, rock-like shells keep them in one place, but they strike at their prey with alarming speed. When threatened, they can retreat into their shells in an instant.

The water stored in Ventorm's body is expelled, along with sediment and noxious gases, from the vents in its shell. It generally cannot spare the water when it is on land, however, and so black smoke can be seen issuing from the vents instead.

By the time Wyrmal evolve into Ventorm, the sediment they collect from the hydrothermal vents has formed into an incredibly strong shell. The soft bodies of the Ventorm become one with the rock-like shells, much like the way a turtle's shell works. They can retract their long necks back into themselves and into the shell for protection; while their rock bases prevent them from moving from the one spot in which they settle, Ventorm can strike out of and pull into their shells incredibly quickly, more than fast enough to catch most prey or avoid attacks.

Even though they have magma in their bodies, as sea creatures Ventorm need to keep hydrated as well. As such, they swallow water all of the time (for filtering out oxygen as well as for regulating their temperature, etc.). The water that Ventorm swallow is combined with minerals and gases they take in from their prey and their environment, and is forced out of openings in their bases in big clouds of sediment, much like the black smoker vents around which they live. When on land they cannot afford to expel all of that water unless they need to do so in battle; as such, during these times thick smoke often issues from their vents instead.

Notes: Ventorm generally can't move from one spot under its own power, although if gravity is working in its favor while on land it could, at least in theory, retract into its shell and attempt to roll clumsily along for short distances. For those of you wondering why it has a base speed higher than shuckle's if it can barely move from its initial position, that was me trying to balance "can't go anywhere" with "well but its body is flexible and can move really fast while in that one spot so".

i forget what we decided on for additional battle requirements so um something

Shadow Ball gets thrown around on a lot of Pokemon that have no business using it.

The cut-off sentence is the same "it can move around in water" thing you see on Embeluga and Volcaluga's notes section.
