Have at it with a Haze, then Giga Drain Energy, then Chill. If he taunts you, you should be able to Haze first, as you're faster, then Giga Drain ala normal, but then Dig down. If you can't dig for whatever reason, use Sludge Bomb.

Let's copy off the strategies the enemy used, shall we? Put on a Swagger as soon as the Haze kicks in. If you can't do it at first, try again until it sticks.

As soon as you slide the confusion in, Get back to your good old Zen Headbutt routine. I know you're tired, but, the better we pull this off, the less will be needed for the next Pokémon that takes the field to dispose of that muthafuckin' snake on a muthafuckin' rooftop.

If that Seviper digs down successfully, ignore these last two commands and instead spit a Hydro Pump down his hole. And don't bother thinking about how awkward this command would sound out of context, that will automatically make you hit yourself in confusion.

Though haze hasn't been particularly kind to him recently, Diamondback acquiesces to his trainer's orders and breathes out another cloud of choking fog. Bagon, still a bit panicked over the double team from the previous round, is hardly comforted as the dark cloud descends, and thoughts of attacking are temporarily driven from his mind. He staggers to his feet and sets out to see if he can't find his way out of the haze. As he blunders around in the darkness, he stumbles and falls, injuring his already-bruised snout.

Bagon doesn't stay down for long, though. He's off and running again in a moment, even more spooked by his fall. As time goes on and he finds no way out of the haze--he's running in circles--he grows ever more frantic. Diamondback flicks his tongue in irritation, feeling the bagon's footfalls on the concrete and waiting for him to stand still for a moment so the seviper can target him properly. Diamondback doesn't have to wait much longer; as before, Bagon's panic is his downfall, and he topples to the pavement for the third time in a row.

While Bagon is down, Diamondback works quickly to snare him with a giga drain. This time the seviper has been paying careful attention to his opponent's movements and is able to direct his strike successfully. A green aura surrounds Bagon's body as Seviper taps into his opponent's reserves of energy, and Bagon shudders as he feels the life being drained out of him. He's already close to collapse, and the giga drain brings him to the edge of blacking out. When the attack at last comes to an end, Bagon feels too weak even to stand.

Fortunately, the haze obscures him such that he doesn't have to worry too much about Diamondback seeing his weakness. Further, the giga drain attack has finally cleared his head a bit, focusing his attention back on his opponent. Summoning all the cheer and brashness he can, Bagon yells into the fog about how his confusion has all been just an act, how he's allowed Diamondback to laugh at his expense just so he would let his guard down. Of course, he's much too awesome to really be that jumpy and uncoordinated. Bagon spins increasingly wild claims about his superiority, warming to the topic as he goes on.

Diamondback is settling down to relax for a bit when Bagon's swagger intrudes on his thoughts. Though Diamondback tries to ignore his opponent, Bagon is persistent, and the seviper can't help but hear and be a little irritated by the blather. The smothering effects of haze prevent Diamondback from flying into a berserk rage, but he's definitely annoyed--not to mention rather confused. Bagon is in a dire state; why on earth is he lying around spouting nonsense instead of doing something to help himself?

Terrain Notes
The haze has been renewed, although it's already grown rather thin and washed-out (1 more action). On the other hand, the smoke has only intensified, blowing across the rooftop in choking clouds. A glance out over the edge of the building would reveal that the fire is no more than two buildings away from where the battle is taking place, and the wind is driving it towards the skyscraper on which the battle is currently taking place (1 more round). Firefighters and rescue pokémon have begun to appear in the sky overhead, racing just ahead of the flames.

As Bagon's posturing peters out, the trainers engage in a shouted conversation from opposite sides of the cloud of haze. By now, the smoke rising from the fire below is almost as dense as the dark fog of Diamondback's making, and the sound of roaring fire and sirens threaten to drown out their voices. As before, there is consensus that they should escape to a less-threatened part of the city. Aerodactyl are released as before, but this time the trainers are faced with an interesting dilemma: how to extract their pokémon from the heart of the haze.

Brock and Metallica Fanboy both wade into the rapidly-dispersing cloud, calling their pokémon's names. Metallica Fanboy nearly trips over bagon, earning himself a headbutt in the shin from the confused and startled dragon. This actually does send him to the pavement, clutching his lower leg in pain. Nearby, Brock narrowly dodges a vicious slash from Diamondback; the confused snake turns mad eyes on his trainer, seeing nothing but a towering enemy to eliminate.

Metallica Fanboy manages to calm Bagon down enough to safely pick him up and carry him over to Dexterous, his aerodactyl. Subduing Diamondback is significantly more dangerous, and Brock approaches the task with caution, edging closer to the snake while the seviper shakes his head aimlessly and hisses in a fit of confused anger. Seizing the snake at the base of his neck and the base of the blade on the end of his tail, Brock fights to keep the seviper from stabbing or biting him. Meanwhile, the two aerodactyl take off, the referee's grabbing Brock by the shoulders as before and hauling him into the air.

The aerial escape affords the trainers with an excellent view of the burning city. Once away from the worst of the smoke, they can see the smoldering ruin stretched out behind them, the nearly-empty ranks of buildings to the fore, and the thick band of conflagration between the two. The firefighters seem to be having no luck at all containing the disaster, and by now, most people have managed to flee the city.

Diamondback calms down a bit in the air--probably too terrified to do much thrashing around--but Brock is nevertheless in a hurry to get his feet back on solid ground. The aerodactyl sweep out over what part of the city remains intact, the humans scanning the ground below for a favorable place to continue their battle.

It isn't long before Metallica Fanboy points out a modest public park near the city's main shopping district, and Brock is more than happy to agree that it would make a good place to fight. The aerodactyl sink into stomach-flipping dives, and seconds later the trainers are set down in a wide, grassy field. Metallica Fanboy sets Bagon down in front of him, while Brock tosses Diamondback as far from him as he can then runs in the opposite direction, yelling over his shoulder that the seviper should be attacking the dragon pokémon instead of him.

Out of pity, the referee calls for the round to begin almost immediately, so that bagon's attack might distract Diamondback from his rage at his trainer--whom the confused snake clearly does not believe and is currently pursuing.

The battle has relocated to a broad, grassy field in the middle of a small park. There is a gazebo a few meters away, and the odd tree dots the grass here and there. The fire has been left far behind, but so far as anyone knows, it's still advancing (8 more rounds).

- As before, both pokémon regained energy equivalent to a chill. They also had some time to rest and collect their thoughts, so their confusion was reduced (in Bagon's case, entirely eliminated).

We've won a little bit of advantage, Bagon. Let's try to not lose that until at the very least we've whittled DiamondBack down some.

First of all, being outran has so far dealt us plenty of small losses, so, let's allow them to accumulate no further. Pop a Thunder Wave.

Our enemy will be paralyzed and confused at this point. Unless they choose to Rest -- which nonetheless allows us to keep some advantage -- the chances an attack will land are crippled. If they choose to bring the Haze back, getting a hit in will get even harder. It's plenty of room we have there to Chill.

Of course, though, we cannot afford to leave loopholes out there. So, if the first Thunder Wave was stopped by a miss or Protect or the like, try again until it sticks. If what caused the Thunder Wave to fail once will make it fail every time you attempt it again this round, Zen Headbutt. In this scenario, if an opportunity to land Thunder Wave in appears, seize it. Use Zen Heabutt as well if DiamondBack is planning to Snatch your chill again.

Now this... is an interesting conundrum. It would suck to be Paralyzed, as adding that to confusion. Confusion is going to royally screw me over this round. My plan is fickle, but if it works, It should be solid and assure us some safety.

So after you cease trying to murder me, go for a taunt. This may or may not work due to confusion, but I hope it does. If it doesn't, hope Thunder Wave misses, and keep using Taunt until it works. If it lands the first action, Haze so you could get some protection. Then Chill some energy back. If Haze didn't work, use it again, if taunt didn't work, use it again.

Bagon is so entertained by the sight of Brock running away from his own pokémon that it takes a moment for his command to sink in. Even then, it is a little while longer before Bagon realizes he has absolutely no way to carry it out. Dread clutches at the bagon's insides as he desperately tries to think of how he might conjure up a thunder wave and only draws blanks. His mood doesn't improve when Diamondback seems to come to his senses and turn, slowly and menacingly, away from Brock and towards Bagon.

What are you looking at, little lizard-thing? the snake hisses at Bagon. Just going to hang around snickering while the real pokémon fight? Well, I suppose it's a good thing you don't want to try; you're obviously too weak to do anything but get yourself hurt.

Bagon can't help but be a little annoyed--well a lot annoyed, really--by his opponent's accusations. Him, weak, when Diamondback was the one chasing his trainer around in circles, dazed out of his mind? Bagon snorts and narrows his eyes at Diamondback. The snake turns away from him again and locks eyes with Brock, giving a dismissive flick of his tail in Bagon's direction. Bagon grinds his teeth as a red haze descends over his vision. Well, fortunately he doesn't have to worry about not knowing thunder wave any more--and what a stupid idea, using that attack anyway! He needs to teach that snake a lesson with some real damage. Lowering his head, Bagon gathers psychic energy in his helmet and charges forward, punishing Diamondback with another zen headbutt.

The snake lands in a frantic heap, thrashing madly in a sudden panic as his confusion takes hold again. Bagon retreats from the whipping tail and snapping mouth, feeling quite pleased with himself but not done doling out the punishment yet. As soon as Diamondback shows signs of recovering and not laying about at random with his tail-blade, Bagon takes the opportunity to slam another zen headbutt home.

This time Diamondback is not so thrown off as before, and the snake recovers enough to gather himself up and release another haze over the battlefield. By now Bagon is resigned to immersion in the chilly fog, and he only growls with frustration as the haze settles thick in around him. Who's the coward now, hiding in a cloud of smoke?

Also, I am screwed once Bagon dies. I have no one of real use. My current party however, is slightly more adept. No one can evolve either. But maybe I could get some EXP for Baltoy. I hate having four Pokemon.

"A situation where you can't use Thunder Wave for the whole round" does kind of include "you can't learn Thunder Wave", but eh.

Gotta keep DiamondBack's energy on a leash so that he won't get to Rest when your avenger comes along, Bagon.

First action, use Cut for minimal energy usage.

Now, Taunt shouldn't be a problem there -- after you've been taunted so often, it may yeild less results this time; plus, it is affected by accuracy and Haze should be able to maybe get it to miss. So, if by the second action you can still use status moves, make a small Substitute. That will stop the third Giga Drain from draining Energy, and won't let Chills be Snatched. So, if you are sucessful in making a Substitute, Chill.

Of course, I'm probably being way too hopeful there. So, if by the second action you're still reft of your ability to use Substitute, well, we're not letting them have any more of your energy either. Use Dragon Rush. Hopefully, that should energy kill you, and also cause good damage (better than all those Zen Headbutts, too, if I didn't miscalculate) if it lands (which is unlikely). You should also stick to that scenario if using Substitute on the second action would energy kill you. If in that scenario you still live by the third action (very very unlikely), Dragon Rush again.

Bagon grits his teeth and plunges forward through the haze, determined to flush out his cowardly opponent. He practically trips over Diamondback, the snake lying low in the depths of the misty cloud. The seviper is almost as shocked to see him as Bagon is to come across his opponent, but a fierce slash from one of the Bagon's mysteriously sharpened paws snaps him back to the moment.

Diamondback recoils, rearing up off the pavement as the new gash across his belly starts to dribble blood. Bagon backs up a little, tottering as his rage wears off and the full reality of his fatigue hits him. Before the dragon can melt back into the haze Diamondback draws upon his weak grass powers, entangling his energy with Bagon's lifeforce and drawing off as much of it as he can.

Bagon is driven to the ground, only barely able to keep his heavy head off his chest. Without the fury caused by Diamondback's taunt to buoy him up, he finds he wants to do no more than lie down to rest. For the moment, setting up something to protect him while he relaxes is the best he can do--if he can even manage that. Bagon squeezes his eyes shut and starts to breathe out a stream of energy-infused dragon flame, intending to shape it into a substitute to defend him against from further attack. He simply can't keep the attack going, though; the flame trails off when the effigy is still only a rough outline, and it evaporates in a matter of moments. For his part, Bagon manages to keep himself conscious for a few seconds more before collapsing entirely, exhausted beyond any hope of fighting further.

Not good. Vigoroth suck for us. It has full health. Guess what? Wring Out until it works, then Toxic, until it works, and if you have a leftover Action, Glare. If on the first two actions, he Taunts you, Use Poison Tail the second action ang Wring Out on the last as if it hadn't missed.

Hope it isn't confusing.

Wring Out is a strong move, but also, it wastes a fuckton of energy. Couple it with the fact that our enemy is confused, and you barely have to throw any defense up at all. Start with a barrage of Mud-Slaps to skew that snake's odds at getting a single one of them in.

Of course, we aren't quite nulifying their chance at landing this, and once they do, they'll start trying to ram you with status. Well, that's too bad, because as soon as they start trying (i.e. as soon as they manage to land a Wring Out), you will throw up a small Substitute, rendering all their efforts a frutiless waste of energy.

If you have any actions remaining after you have a Substitute, use Swords Dance.

Diamondback perks up as a red beam of light pierces the haze to collect his fallen opponent. He knows he has only a few seconds to rest before the dragon is replaced with a new opponent, and he spends them in weary anticipation. He's tired, but there's plenty of fight left in him. Whatever's coming, he'll make sure it pays dearly for taking him down.

As it turns out, Metallica Fanboy's next pokémon is Megatherium the vigoroth. The normal type appears on the field in a brief flash of energy, but as soon as the light dies away Megatherium finds himself adrift in a field of cold haze. By now the attack has mostly dissipated, but the vigoroth still has to squint to get a good look at his opponent. Seviper, is it? Well, that snake had better be ready to eat mud, because... because... There's no mud around here?

Indeed, a quick check of the area finds no suitably gooey earth to fling Diamondback's way. Undeterred, Megatherium slips his claws into the grass and rips up a chunk of sod, hurling it boldly in Diamondback's direction. It misses completely, smashing on the ground some distance behind the snake as Diamondback lunges forward, hurling himself straight into his new foe. The seviper winds himself tightly around the startled vigoroth. With his coils in place, he gives a powerful wrench, twisting Megatherium in two directions at once.

The vigoroth roars in pain, and Diamondback hastily uncoils before he manages to harm his opponent simply wriggling out of the snake's grasp. Left aching and in poor spirits, Megatherium viciously rips more sod out of the ground, slapping it together into a crude effigy. When the faux vigoroth is complete, Megatherium takes a deep breath, tries to focus, then blows an energy-charged breath over his dirty claws. When he rams them into the back of his substitute, they impart a sliver of his life energy to the construct, and it shudders with sudden life, blinking silver-spark eyes at Diamondback. Megatherium inspects his work with satisfaction; it turned out better than the last time he tried working with dirt--though he calms himself a bit by recognizing that he couldn't have done anything to lower his opponent's accuracy with the haze still lingering, anyway. By now the fog has entirely burned off under the warm sun, though.

Diamondback is unimpressed by Megatherium's substitute. He is plenty irritated when it gets in the way of his next strike, but is happy enough to sink his teeth into it and pump his most virulent poison into its earthen body. The toxic, of course, has no effect on the substitute, and Diamondback is left puzzled when it simply stares at him rather than collapsing from the power of the toxins.

With his substitute to protect him, Megatherium has a moment to boost his strength without worrying about Diamondback's interference. Closing his eyes, he recalls an ancient warrior's dance and takes another deep, cleansing breath. Then he is off and spinning wildly, smacking his claws together in an insistent beat as he proceeds through ever more acrobatic maneuvers, loosening his muscles and boosting his confidence as he warms up for the fight to come. Diamondback, meanwhile, is chewing on Megatherium's substitute in consternation. No matter how much toxic he forces into its body, it just doesn't react!

Taunt DiamondBack off. Speaking of off, see if you can Slack Off a tad after you've got him taunted. If you pull that off, finish with Chill. Carry over commands that didn't manage to work. If the conditions make it so Taunt will fail actively, Focus Punch, Slash and Chill.
