Maeror Astrorum [Sign-up/OOC] OPEN

For decades, the world has been under the control of the Scientists – a group of men and women dedicated to furthering knowledge of the world. One of their largest branches is dedicated entirely to researching Pokemon. Most people nowadays are well-educated, and the future seems bright.

For years, you have been trapped in their Pokemon Research Laboratory. They captured most of you when you were little, so for a large portion of your lives, you’ve only had each other to rely on. Even though the scientists haven’t done anything to you yet, you feel insecure and unhappy in those barren cages they keep you in. The blurry faces of family members you almost remember haunt your dreams, and the whole place has a sinister feel to it. You’ve been planning to escape for years, and you finally feel sufficiently prepared. But the night you plan to escape happens to coincide with the night the Scientists' plans come to fruition.

Ever since their rise to power, the Scientists have wondered what would happen if they could turn Pokemon into humans. They would be invincible, unstoppable weapons of destruction, the most powerful beings in the world! And if the Scientists could control these hypothetical human Pokemon, they could rule the world forever! Any rebellion would be squashed before it had the chance to really get started. This false utopia that allowed them to conduct their experiments in peace would never end. They made this project, dubbed “Maeror Astrorum” by those working on it, their main project, and have been working on it for many years. They chose their test subjects before they even knew how they were going to create these human Pokemon, otherwise known as the Tristicula Astra.

And you’re those lucky test subjects.

So, on that fateful night, the Scientists drugged your food and conducted their experiment while you were unconscious. They injected you with their special serum, clothed you, and transported you to locations across the regions. You awoke human, without your friends, and with absolutely no idea what was going on. You decide to travel, and soon realise that the Scientists are on your trail, observing their “creations” At first you’re just looking for your friends, and for a way to become a Pokemon again, but you hear whispers of revolution along the way. The humans are becoming restless. They know that something’s up. They’ve begun to figure out that this peace isn’t all it seems to be. You might want to help them, but what you’ve all really wanted this whole time is to get home – wherever home is.

Rules:
1. Keep it about PG-13. Swearing is allowed, and there can (and hopefully will) be romances, but nothing explicit is allowed. No gore should be present, and there shouldn’t really be much blood at all.
2. No godmodding, Mary Sues, and all that stuff I don’t expect you to even think of trying.
3. Keep the bold parts of the form bold.
4. Post should be one moderate length paragraph at least. Good grammar and spelling is expected as well.
5. You can only have one character max. This is going to be a rather small RP in general. There should be about 5-10 Tristicula Astra, and a few normal humans too (The characters have to learn how to act rather humanlike somehow, after all)
6. This doesn’t have a set plot at all, but it should sort of stay on track towards the revolution that may or may not (read: probably will) be happening in the near future.


Form:

Name: Simple.

Age: About 12-20. Normal humans could be a bit older.

Sex: Simple again.

Home Region: Any region from the main games

Current Location: A specific location in one of the regions from the main games. No two Tristicula Astra should be very close to each other, but normal humans can be close to each other or to one of the Tristicula Astra.

Pokemon Species: No legendaries, or evolved Pokemon that evolve at levels that wouldn’t be realistic for your character’s age. No two characters can be the same species (The Scientists would want to study how the different species reacted to the serum). Normal humans skip this.

Powers: The serum affected different test subjects in different ways. Your character could be able to use all the attacks they could use as a Pokemon, they could have powers related to the Pokemon they were, or anything in between. Normal humans skip this.

Appearance: If they are a Tristiculum Astrum, they should at least resemble their original species in hair color and skin color and such. They may also have some body parts left over from their Pokemon days, such as ears or eyes. One paragraph at least.

Personality: One paragraph at least.

Biography: If they are a Tristiculum Astrum, this should include how the Scientists captured them. One paragraph at least.

Other: Relationships? Friendships? (The Tristicula Astra are all friends to some extent, but some friendships are a lot stronger than others, and some may even genuinely dislike each other) If your character is a normal human, and they have Pokemon, their Pokemons’ info goes here too.

Powers: Vesta can see pieces of images from the future. She can also levitate, but only when she is extremely relaxed, like when she's sleeping.

Appearance: Vesta has long, green hair. Her skin has just a hint of silver colour on it, but it's barely noticable. She is about 4 feet 6 inches tall. She is skinnier than she should be. Her eyes show a hint of sorrow.

Personality: Vesta has...multiple personalities. Sometimes, she'll be happy and active.! Other times, she'll be relaxed and
laid back. Even some other times, she'll be sad and she'll hide in a corner.

Biography: As a young Ralts, she was as happy as can be! She lived near the hot spring in lavaridge. She was perfectly content! Until one day, an explosion hit! The explosion hit Vesta's home. (but not Lavaridge town) Suddenly, people in white lab coats scooped Vesta up and brought her to the Tristiculum Astra.

Also, I'm not really sure if a Pokemon would have a last name. If it makes sense to you, leave it in, but I'd be more inclined to believe that Pokemon just have a given name.

Appearance: Saito is built quite lankily, having a more agile frame versus a bulky frame. She keeps her Auburn hair only long enough to reach her shoulder blades, and tied in a ponytail. She has a single electric blue sapphire earring in her left ear, and often wears a pair of sunglasses. She wears a somewhat loose fitting black t-shirt, emblazoned with a symbolic K on the back. She wears knee-length blue shorts and bandaging around her left calf, as well as black running shoes and grey socks. She keeps a sweater tied around her waist, and hanging at the back. Her bag is a satchel that she straps over her left shoulder and on her right side.

Personality: Unlike her younger brother, Alex, Saito inherited her father’s attitude, a somewhat cool and calculating outlook at things, though like his demeanor in the first leg of his journey, Saito was also an excitable child, but toned down following her completion of the Lily of the Valley Conference, achieving a first place finish, despite several odds. She is a pleasant person to be around, and has a passive sense of humor, but when in battle her tone and outlook on things become stern, and it is hard to determine what she may be thinking.

Biography: Saito was born in Holly Town, and raised by her parents. Her father, Nanka Kurohari, was already a prestigious trainer, and even more renowned breeder and ranch owner. Saito was raised alongside numerous Pokémon and thus easily understood them, and respected each one for their individual abilities. She eventually attended the trainers school in Jubilife City to learn more about the technical aspects of Pokémon, and became quite knowledgeable on the subject in short time.

She left on her journey in Sinnoh at the age of 11, feeling that she didn’t want to rush it, and would rather spend the year getting to know and raising her team, a number of children of Nanka’s five teams. When she did depart, she quickly made it known to the region that the Kurohari legacy was back, and made quick and effective work of the eight gyms over the course of a year, finally challenging the Lily of the Valley Conference, and placing a close first. She quickly found that the media loved the return of her family to the league circuit, and found herself develop a less welcoming demeanor, similar to that of her father’s, and progressed to repeat her actions in Unova, placing first there as well. By age 15 Saito has begun her journey in the Kanto region and has progressed to Lavender Town, a place she feels she’ll be hanging around for a little while.

Other: Holly Town is on the south western coast of Sinnoh, west of Lake Verity, on the coast.

-Moveset: Thunderbolt, Focus Blast, Grass Knot, Nasty Plot
-Personality: Staiz is much unlike her father, Spatz, and is much more relaxed and calm, though still quite friendly. A large portion of her personality is directly based off of Saito’s due to the two of them meeting at a young enough age to bond more than the average trainer and Pokémon would, thus the tradition of the Kurohari family.
-Accessories: Pink scarf, and short pony tail held by a black scrunchie.

-Species: Lopunny
-Age: 5
-Gender: Male
-Moveset: Return, Sky Uppercut, Ice Punch, Thunder Wave
-Personality: Regis is a stubborn and violent Pokémon, having to do with the fact that many a male Pokémon have attempted to hit on him without asking his gender first, and thus lashes out unneededly. Despite this it is assumed that he is actually quite the romantic Pokémon, and has attempted on several occasions to establish a relationship with Staiz.
-Accessories: Baggy black shorts.

-Name: Spark
-Species: Volcarona
-Age: 4 1/2
-Gender: Female
-Moveset: Flamethrower, Psychic, Hurricane, Quiver Dance
-Personality: Spark is friendly and somewhat hyper, a leading reason towards her name, and rarely ends up finding it necessary to take anything seriously. This attitude has separated her from her father quite a bit do to his strict outlook on things. She makes up for her “head-in-the-clouds” persona with her amazing combat skills.
-Accessories: A small pink bow on each antenna.

-Name: Cynthia
-Species: Blaziken
-Age: 5
-Gender: Female
-Moveset: Flare Blitz, Earthquake, Acrobatics, Bulk Up
-Personality: Cynthia is hot headed, and often runs headlong into situation with little thought. This trait has made her one of the most difficult for Saito to control, and thus also makes her the most unpredictable in battle. She is also Regis’ cousin, her father being the brother of Regis’.
-Accessories: Goggles often worn around her neck, unless in battle where they are over her eyes.

-Name: Dentt
-Species: Typhlosion
-Age: 5
-Gender: Male
-Moveset: Flamethrower, Solarbeam, HP (Ground), Sunny Day
-Personality: Dentt is shy, and would rather remain outside of the limelight. This personality has made it hard for him to admit to his crush, Cynthia, that he has those feelings for her. Despite this, he can be a pinch fighter, especially if he knows that his friends have been hurt.
-Accessories: Black toque.

-Name: Zert
-Species: Lucario
-Age: 5
-Gender: M
-Moveset: Cross Chop, Blaze Kick, Stone Edge, Heal Pulse
-Personality: Zert is a highly athletic Pokemon, and is often encouraging the others to participate in hikes, sparring, and other training that he figures would be good for their physique and well being. Zert is freindly but, as being a Lucario, he can pick up on negative emotions, as well as hostile intentions. He has learned from his uncle how to telepathically communicate with humans, however it is extremely limited, and he is not able to construct complex scentences, or say a lot, and thus must be very punctual. Zert is the love interest of Cynthia, but he doesn't seem to notice.
-Accessories: Zert wears a turquoise earring in his left ear, as well as a razor claw on a necklace to remind him of his rival.

Pokemon Species: Umbreon

Powers: She can use any move an Umbreon in the games could learn by leveling up, and any Dark type moves they can learn through other methods.

Appearance: Ciara has rather dull, straight black hair that reaches her waist. She retained her tail from when she was an Umbreon, and her eyes still have their old red coloring, but are now shaped like human eyes. She is of rather average weight and height, though her legs are longer than normal, aiding her impressive dodging ability. Her skin is somewhat dark. She has rather fang like teeth, and her ears seem a bit darker than the rest of her body. She wears a pink blouse, pink boots, and an orange skirt long enough to cover her tail if necessary. When she uses her powers, the spots where there would normally be those circles on an Umbreon appear, glowing yellow. Here's a drawing.

Personality: Ciara is bouncy and energetic, and tries to make the best of every situation. She doesn't like change, so when something unexpected happens she will often take weeks or even months to begin to adapt. She tends to rush into things without thinking about them. She gets extremely apologetic when she messes up because of this, even when others tell her that it doesn't matter. She tends to take charge even when she isn't the best for the job at all. In spite all of this, her upbeat attitude assures that others generally like her - unless they prefer quiet.

Biography: With three older brothers taking the spotlight, no one ever seemed to think Ciara had much potential when she was little. Her oldest brother was an exceptionally strong battler, her middle brother was a brilliant strategist, and her youngest brother was stealthy enough to sneak into a human's house and come back unscathed. Ciara just sat in the background, not caring that her siblings were getting all the attention. All she wanted was to have fun. Her brothers, however, decided this was not fair to her. They became her closest friends, and she evolved into an Umbreon because of their friendship. She was the first of the siblings to evolve.

It was then that her talent for dodging was discovered. When she and her brother's held mock fights outside their family's little den near the Ruins of Alph, they could almost never hit her. She only then began to attract attention from her parents, and she and her brothers became a team who fought those who threatened the younger Pokemon nearby, with her as the leader.

But this talent for dodging did not help her when the Scientists chose her to be one of their test subjects for Maeror Astrorum. Ciara awoke early, as she always did, and went for a quick little stroll. The Scientists had been watching her for weeks, and now that she was alone, they ambushed her. Grabbing her from behind, they brought her to their Laboratory. For the first week or so, she just huddled in the corner of the cage, not saying anything, but eventually she adjusted. She tried hard to keep the others' spirits up, and she was the first to suggest the idea of escape, though she was not much help with the planning.

Pokemon Species: Grovyle

Powers: Usage of a wide variety of Grass-Type attacks, and extremely agile, able to jump well and react quickly.

Appearance: He's got long dark hair, with a greenish streak going down the middle, extending just past the rest of his hair, down to his shoulders, and well-tanned skin from the recent days. His eyes are just barely a pale yellow rather than white, though you'd have to look for it to notice. He has an athletic build, standing at about five feet nine inches. He's retained leaves sprouting from his forearms, though these are usually covered by his sleeves. Typically, he wears loose-fitting jeans, and a simple white shirt, usually covered by a dark blue hooded jacket. (Picture Nyeah)

Personality: He isn't good at meeting new people. He finds that others, even if they don't screw up, get on his nerves. He's never one to act out his emotions, though, so despite anger, frustration, or sheer joy, he only stands there quietly, thinking of an opportune moment to act. This nature makes him distant from others, and while he's enjoyed his time alone, he's beginning to find he misses his old friends even more than before.

Biography: As a Treecko, he wasn't all that much different. He was, however, considerably more arrogant and rude, treating his younger siblings with contempt. He had gotten frustrated with one of them one day, and true to his nature, simply left the area to let things cool down on their own. He was napping in a tree, and thought he heard something, looking around right before something clubbed him in the head, and everything was black.

He awoke in a cage, and immediately decided this wasn't going to be a happy day. He decided he'd bide his time, and assimilated himself into the group of Pokemon. At first, he only acted friendly. As time passed, he found himself actually trusting these people, and slammed his head to the wall in disbelief. After being treated for a minor concussion, he continued the dreary life of a lab rat. He memorized every detail for the escape, and very secretly made a few side plans, in case anything went screwy. Turns out he didn't need them.

Since he woke up, he's been staying at the Lake of Rage. He built a simple raft, and wastes his days sitting on it in the middle of the lake, contemplating what he should do next, much to the Scientists' frustration.

Other: Feels rather awkward towards Blazaria since he doesn't know how to respond to her constant happiness, and feels some contempt and distrust towards Arcane.

Powers: Alex can phase through objects and use various Ghost-type moves (Ominous Wind, Shadow Ball, etc.)

Appearance: Alex is very small for his age, standing at about 4' 6" and weighing 80 pounds. He typically wears a loose dark grey sweatshirt and slightly oversized black gym shorts (both of which Alex stole from the clotheslines outside various people's houses). His eyes are a deep red and his hair is black, smooth, and relatively short, reaching to midway down his neck. Alex's skin is very pale, and if you look closely, it is tinted a very light gray. His teeth are a very light shade of yellow.

Personality: Alex is a trickster, to say the least. He is hyper and cunning, preferring to use his wits over strength. Alex is also very good at stealing things, due to the fact that he absolutely hates to work for money. He is also an absurdly good liar, very pessimistic, and loves to use sarcasm.

Biography: Alex was born on the coast of Mt. Pyre to a Banette and a Dusclops. As was his family's tradition, he left Mt. Pyre at the age of 6 years and settled on Route 121. Alex lived there for a year before he was captured by "millionaires" (really scientists) who lured him in with approximately 27 Nuggets and the promise of as much lemonade as he wanted.

Other: Alex absolutely loves lemonade and is a known shoplifter of the Goldenrod Department Store.

How far are you, and would you accept an untested newcomer to the forum into your roleplay? I suppose what I'm really asking when I say 'how far are you' is 'are you so far into the plot that adding a newcomer into the mix would upset things?'

I know I get annoyed when my plots are upset. I'm not about to inflict that on someone else.
