Arena Description: A Giant Sword in Space (Exactly What It Says On The Tin)

Imagine the deep reaches of space, soundless, desolate, endless blackness in all directions.

Now imagine a giant sword, of medieval design, floating through this void. You know, just a normal giant sword, doing what giant swords do best: floating through space and occasionally being pointed at by people with dumbfounded expressions.

That, my friends, is the arena.

Let's get into the nitty gritty parts. The sword drifts through space blade-first, as if some giant had thrown it like a dart into the sky and wondered why it wasn't coming back. Poor giant. Around the sword is a bubble of air that moves with the sword, like an atmosphere over a sword-shaped world. The sword is roughly two wailords long and proportionately wide, while the perfectly spherical air bubble is about five wailords in diameter. The air is room-temperature. Gravity exists on the sword on both sides, so you can jump over the side of the sword and land on the other side, upside down to your opponent.

Also, and here's the really fun bit: at the beginning of every round, each pokemon has a 5% chance of getting hit by a small meteor, causing 5% typeless damage. If they do, they miss their actions for that round.

And once again, this is the design of the sword for reference.

Maria, who was now devilishly pleased with the outcome of her attack, was now feeling a bit nauseous, considering what she had to do. Of course, that didn’t include jumping off of a sword and hoping that you’ll land safely. She slowly edged towards the edge of the blade. If she bent over she could see the rain cloud on the other side. She closed her eyes, then after closing her eyes she took the plunge. As she felt the blade she shot downwards, then quickly flipped around and landed on the slippery blade. She nearly slipped, but quickly righted herself and faced Razia. With a groan she started running, then jumped onto the hilt and kept on going. When she reached a Razia she slowed down, silently hoping it was the right one, then quickly planted a kiss on her forehead. With distaste she realized that the Razia was just a clone, and she backed off shyly.

Razia wasn’t sure what to feel. Surprised of course was right up there, but everything else was a jumble. Such a large jumble of emotions that she was nearly confused even though the attack didn’t hit her. With heavy limbs and a light brain she tried to perform her attack, but to no avail. She tried to blast a strong snaking trail of fire at Maria, but she was cut short by her horrible paralysis. She barely managed to keep herself upright, as digging her heels into the hilt helped her keep her balance. Maria smirked gleefully.

Maria now had to rely on the Pokemon gods, or legendaries, a tactic she did not feel was very useful. She preferred to use her own powers to defeat opponents, not rely on others. Though, an order was an order. In the pouring rain she knelt upon the freezing cold blade and held out her arms in a praying fashion. She then closed her eyes and began to pray. She prayed for the legendary Jirachi, granter of all wishes, to hear her cry. She prayed for her to regain some of her previous good health. And, unbeknownst to her trainer, she prayed for her opponent to suffer. She felt a bit guilty about the last part, but in her mind it only kind of slipped out. Still, she slightly hoped that Razia didn’t suffer too much.

Razia, even more confused by her opponent’s last attack, took a small bit of time to think about what she had done. A dance that had created a rain cloud that had drifted completely out of the atmosphere, a kiss on a clones forehead, and now a silent prayer to… She had no idea actually. Anyway, trying to recover from her previous fail she began to cough up a small indeterminate-shaped blob of toxic waste. When she was about to vomit the blob in Maria’s direction once more her paralysis kicked in, leaving her helpless once again. She slowly fell to the “ground” (hilt), and sustained a small bruise. She luckily was able to swallow the blob before she choked to death on it.

Maria was now confused by her next command, looked around absent-mindedly. She twiddled her thumbs a bit and kept on looking. Then she let out a frustrated groan. How in the “world” (sword) would she perform MUD Slap? Why would there be mud on a floating sword, not to mention the fact of how it could’ve stayed on the sword with all of the rain pouring down. So she just sat down and did nothing besides breathing, sitting, thinking, etc. She looked at Razia innocently and nodded her head shamefully. It was her trainer’s fault. And why was she even trying to indicate this to Razia? It’s not like the nodded head was the most obvious thing in the world. She growled and flicked one of her ears back, waiting to see what Razia would do.

Razia, as confused as ever (She was creating a dictionary of odd moves now) hoped immensely that she would be able to do something this turn. Anyhting useful. Once more she formed the toxic blob in her stomach. She coughed it up into her throat and then into her mouth. It tasted as horrible as anything anyone could imagine. Like the smell of rotten eggs, the sound of nails on chalkboard, and the looks of some old ugly fat guy mixed together. Right as she was about to spit it out the paralysis kicked in for the third time. The toxins slowly dribbled out of her mouth and onto the floor, where they were quickly washed away. Once more, Maria began to feel nauseous, as this was going way to far. Though she could now obviously see which Razia was the real one, as the toxins spilling from its mouth did not even get washed away when they hit the sword, they just disappeared. Seeing that its act was finished, the clone quickly disappeared

Before either Pokemon could attack in the torrential downpour a shooting star, or meteorite, appeared in the sky above. It darted across both Pokemon’s field of vision before disappearing out of view. Almost instantly after the star disappeared Maria began to feel slightly lightheaded. Not in a drunken kind of way, but in a happy springy kind of way. Slowly and gradually her bruises and melted away, and she felt the pain slowly dissipate. However, along with this wonderful sensation came a feeling of exhaustion. The more health she regained the more energy she lost, until she was fully healed, but nearly on one knee. However, she felt buoyant and happy at the moment, and the loss of energy didn’t displease her very much. Razia seemed to understand the sudden recovering of health, and did not add it to her Crazy Moves Dictionary. However, she did decide to take this opportunity to attack first. She remade the toxic blob of before in the depths of her bowels from unspeakable things. Once she felt it was a satisfactory size she began to cough and splutter to get it out of her system. With one last hack the purple blob went flying out of her mouth and sailed through the air. It landed directly in the middle of Maria’s chest, and she cringed as the horrible chemicals entered her body.

Maria was relishing in her good health, though the burning sensation of very toxic poison coursing through your veins is quite disconcerting. She tried to ignore it, but it was quite distracting. Ignoring something like a burn would be easy enough in this weather, but poison inside your body is a whole other thing. After going over her commands once more she realized she would have to feel that horrible feeling three more times in the round. But the show must go on. Putting her best fake smile on her face she began to clap heartily in the direction of Razia. The Magby smiled shyly and began to paw the ground, but at this the Plusle began to clap even louder and begin to cheer. Razia seemed a bit confused by the sudden appreciation, but didn’t quite understand. As she noticed this Maria began her strongest cheering act, as she now jumped in the air, doing flips and the like, still cheering. All cheerleaders would be proud. Finally, it finally seemed to break through to Razia. She realized that Maria had liked her previous move. Realizing this, she felt almost as good as Razia, and prepared to perform and even more beautiful Toxic.

Feeling happy that her opponent had so easily fallen for her ploy Maria began work on another combo that was sure to hurt her opponent very much. With glee she began to once more conjure up the electric energy that had passed down from generation to generation for thousands of years. Besides the toxic poison that was giving her quite a lot to deal with she felt elemental energy flood inside of her. Soon sparks began playing about on her skin once more, just like when Charge had been used a couple of rounds back. She let the energy manifest her, control her, occupy her. She was charging her energy, fuelling it, and to do so her and the electricity needed to have a bond. With satisfaction she realized that she had gathered as much energy as she possible could. Now all that was required of her was to wait and watch.

Razia now felt like she was in her prime. She imagined herself as a powerful Magmortar, with cannon-like arms and a towering body. She imagined flames ripping out of her, scorching all of her opponents to dust. And it was all thanks to this small little Plusle. With a feeling like joy, accomplishment, and surprise all mixed together she began to form another toxic blob. To her complete and utter displeasure she realized that she was running out of useful toxins that she could use to fire at her new friend. But with such vigour she pressed on, and soon she had another magnificent purple blob, just perfect for poisoning. It fleetingly occurred to her that this attack shouldn’t make the opponent happy, but she quickly pushed the thought aside. The blob she now had rolling around in her stomach was slightly smaller than the last as she did not have the right amount of toxins in her body. She was feeling so good about herself that when the puked up the horrific blob she didn’t even worry about the taste. The blob once more went sailing towads Maria and her straight on. She cringed slightly as the fickle poison once more struck her, but she clapped enthusiastically anyway to keep the encore believable.

Now seeing her moment to once more pummel her opponent with a powerful blast, Maria began to concentrate. She needed to get this just right. She closed her eyes and began to harness the energy that she had so recently bonded with. It was now time for her to take control. She began to corner it inside of herself, condensing it, making it more constricted. She kept it wrapped inside and made it even smaller, waiting for the perfect moment when she could release it in one powerful controlled burst. She waited a few seconds more, then she new the time was right, and with a yell she released a continuous stream of crackling pure electricity. The power zapped down the blade, seeming to lick the sword with sparks. It reached Razia in a matter of milliseconds, where it consumed her body, filling her with pain and making her scream. Maria smirked slightly, she realized that it was not as spectacular as the thunder she had produced earlier in the round, but this was still magnificent. The energy quickly dissolved into the air, leaving a horribly unhappy fire-type Pokemon standing helplessly on a gigantic sword hilt,

Razia had her head down, but she was not crying, just clenching her teeth in anger. She realized now that the encore had been a total joke, just a way for her to not use Flamethrower. Well, she was no longer falling for that powerful trick. She slowly brought her head up and stared at Maria mischievously. Maria saw the anger in her eyes, and realized that her encore had ended, at that her opponent was now in a full out rage. She backed away meekly as she gulped at the prospect at what her opponent was going to do. Razia quickly pumped her fire stomach intensely, generating a powerful blast of fire faster than she had ever done before. When it was ready, she formed her lips into the right position, and then blew as hard as she could. A steady stream of fire came spiralling out of her mouth and jetted towards Maria, but it was made considerably weaker by the monsoon above them. When it reached Maria it had been significantly weakened, but it still hurt her quite well, she groaned as the flames licked painfully at her skin, then again as the toxic took a toll on her feeble body. And with that the round came to a close.

Maria, who was completely sure that her trainer was proud of her performance realized that the relaxation that she was commanded to perform was earned. She was dead tired (or at least as tired as she ever thought she would be), so just lying down on the sword seemed a great way to make this battle more enjoyable. As she yawned and descended to the ground slowly she realized that the horrible rain that she had conjured would make the rest a bit less comfortable. But soon after realizing this however she started to feel less rain drops patter against her small frame. She noticed for the first time that the grey clouds above her were thinning out, and rain was slowly disappearing from the sky. Soon the clouds had dissolved completely into the air, leaving the sword slightly wet. However, besides that small factor (and the patch of destroyed hilt) the battlefield had been returned to normal. Maria breathed out slowly as she realized that she was now able to relax fully.

Razia, the pain induced sulking Magby looked around her with disgust. Her opponent was in such command of the lead that she could now afford to sit down and relax. She was in such a rage that she failed to realize that her opponent was merely regaining energy, just like she herself had done in the previous rounds. Well, now she had a surprise for her fickle opponent. Utilizing her wide moveset she began to use a strong arcane power to fuel her next attack. She let the power build up inside her, preparing itself to be released. The power would react to the environment accordingly and produce a beam of an unknown colour to strike the opponent. With a yell she released the beam, where it flew through the air, a brilliant white, to strike her opponent. The beam cascaded into the resting Maria, throwing her back slightly. She growled after being attacked, and then nimbly sidestepped a small meteor that had raced through the atmosphere. This was war.

Razia knew that she had to act fast. Unlike the last round where she had performed protect, her opponent was actually going to attack her, not stand up triumphantly after being flung across the battlefield by a giant meteor for the second time in two rounds. She smirked slightly as she remembered the occasion that had happened only a few minutes ago. She began to weave a force field in front of her, green in colour that completely protected her against any damage in the action. The barrier was foolproof, except in the case of some strong lightning bolts in the Sinnoh region, but unless she was gravely mistaken, this was not the Sinnoh region. Once more the barrier and the force field melded their surface reflections together, creating a weird psychedelic effect. Now all Razia had to do was wait.

Maria was not overly worried about her opponent, as she had managed a fair amount of damage so far. Her only worry was that her opponent would use her own direct healing attack, and then she would have the upper hand. She wondered if her trainer’s idea to heal her so early on in the match was such a good idea, but there was nothing she could do about it now. She, like Maria before her began to summon her arcane power that all could learn if possible, but few had. She concentrated the power into a sliver like shape, a beam or ray. She then let it exit her body ceremoniously. It careened straight at her opponent, but crashed straight into her force field, leaving no mark on her opponent whatsoever. As the barrier had obviously served its purpose it melted away soon afterward. Maria growled in frustration. She could never win like this.

Maria now had to calm herself. She still had a great upper hand, and she now had a way to make it worthwhile again. With a fun little electric attack. Her opponent seemed to be resisting the paralysis she had previously induced quite easily, but this would teach her a lesson. She gathered electric power inside of her, having to work a bit harder than when using her previous electric attacks, as she had no charged up power to feast off of. It was no matter in her mind, she would still get the attack away with power. She gathered the electrical power with strength, pulling it all together inside of her little body. She knew that the release would have to be fast and powerful for the attack to be used to its full power. When she realized that the attack was ready for using she let all of the energy out in one blast, yelling her name. The thousands of sparks went everywhere, but most targeted the small Magby, who was really starting to hate all of the pain she was enduring. The electric energy scorched her little body oh so painfully, and she found it very hard to ignore. As soon as it started, the pain ended, leaving a very, very, VERY annoyed little fire-type.

Razia was bursting with frustration. Her opponent was practically toying with her, and she had been in the lead earlier in the match by a wide margin, though it was true that she couldn’t just rely on random asteroids. Now her next commands were a bit confusing. What exactly defined close? Well her opponent wasn’t exactly within her punching range, so she decided that Fire Punch was out, and Flamethrower was in. She once again began pumping her fire stomach intensely, willing the flames to spill out of her and create a steady stream of flames. The flames twisted and twirled towards Razia’s opponent, no longer hindered by the rain that had so recently soaked the arena. The flames struck Maria hard again, and she cringed slightly. The Magby may have been losing, but she was still putting up a good fight. Finally, to end the round Maria’s poison damage once more kicked in, damaging her again.

Maria was once more in complete command. In her mind, it wouldn’t be long before she was back at her trainer’s house relaxing and relishing in the spoils of winning her first battle. Ah, she couldn’t wait. Of course, this Magby and the trainer’s next Pokemon were still in her way. Well, time to add some frustration to the mix. She did a couple of deep breaths, then set off at break neck speed up and down the blade, to the amazement of Razia who’s double team hadn’t been close to that fast. In only maybe ten seconds a perfect clone appeared beside Maria, then another seven seconds later, and finally one more six seconds after that. The grand speed of the attack was very impressive, and all four Marias smirked with glee at their hopeless opponent. They all assumed waiting tasks, as they waited for their opponent’s next move. They could already all feel the battle in their grasps.

Razia, however, was not about to give up without a fight. She was slightly upset that she didn’t get to perform a horribly painful Fire Blast on the first action, then follow with Overheat then another Fire Blast. Or Blast Burn if she could’ve used it. Oh, if only. Well, she still had to perform the attack that her trainer had ordered her to perform, so she grudgingly began to use the fiery power inside her once more to call the sun to the battlefield. Razia herself couldn’t help feeling a bit anxious waiting to see what the next star would look like. The one that was magnified as her internal prayer ended was startlingly blue, which shone hard against the battlers. Once more horrible heat fell upon Razia and her clones, who all expressed their disgust in different ways. One panted hard, one wiped sweat from her brow, one groaned heartily, and the last shut its eyes tight. Razia however felt so at home in the heat, just like she had been in her native volcano.

Maria and the clones all expressed their displeasure truthfully. Even for an actually non-existent clone it is hard to feel comfortable in such blistering heat. Maria herself had been the clone who had wiped sweat from her brow, as she had felt it before and she was the least affected. She then stared at her opponent hard, and her clones quickly followed suit. Now for her piece de resistance. She began to focus hard on the toxins swirling around her bloodstream that became more vicious each round. She focused on it hard, and let her anger join it, flowing through her. Then, with a scream, Maria and the clones ran forward hard and began to pummel the weak Magby with punches kicks, slaps, head butts, tackles, scratches, pounds, and all other forms of physical abuse. Razia began to cry as she became so close to fainting. Then with one last sob the light went out. Razia fainted. Maria and the clones backed away slowly, with the real one quite amazed that she managed to knock out her poor opponent so fast in the round. Razia was quickly recalled, and Lanxal began to ponder unto which Pokemon to use next. Maria cringed slightly as the poison once more afflicted her.

Maria took a look at her new opponent, who was also an electric type. No powered up moves for her it seemed, or her opponent. But she did notice that her opponent gave off a slightly chilling air, as her appearance was a bit disconcerting. Maria decided to try her best to ignore it. Now to start this round off with a nice relaxing move. She cleared her throat, and then began to sing a sweet and slow aria that filled the air around her. She sung it in high tones that barely remained below the squeaky pitch that her voice could so casually jump to. She simple emitted different sounds, as her species could not speak actual words besides their own name. She thought it was being effective, but in truth Sisay could barely hear the melody. She just stared at her opponent, not feeling the need to even yawn. When Maria realised that her attack had failed she quickly stopped and stared down shyly at the ground.

Sisay was now able to perform her attack. She found the battlefield a bit strange, but decided at least she wasn’t fighting on the back of a Kraken or something equally mortifying. However, she would’ve have preferred an Indigo Plateau issue battlefield of impressive make, not a blistering hot sword floating through the galaxies. With a small growl she began to charge electricity inside of her oddly coloured fur, which was an electric blue. Fitting, but a bit strange on any mammal. With haste she began to produce more powerful sparks, until her entire coat was bristling. Following this she released the electricity in a small controlled bolt, which hit Maria head on. The small rodent squealed in discomfort, then realized that the small bolt had tangled up her nervous system, making it a difficulty for her to move. She looked at her opponent with hatred, then relaxed a bit as she waited for her opponent to move.

Sisay seemed quite proud of herself for restraining her opponent so effectively, and huffed out her chest slightly. This was her first battle after all, and she had already made her opponent a bit of a wreck. And of course she still had five chills and a direct recovery for the next Pokemon sent out. She was certainly not out of this one yet. She realized now that her opponent’s speed had been decreased greatly, so she had the honour of moving first in the round. She charged down the blade to where Maria was standing and jumped up into the air to gain a small bit of momentum. She then opened her maw wide and let dark energy surround all of her little teeth, making them turn black and increase in size. As she landed she sunk her horrible little fangs into the helpless Plusle’s side. The rodent squealed with pain as her opponent ripped her flesh, and panted hard when the now vicious Pokemon let her loose after shaking her around like a toy for a dog. Sisay then backed away slowly and let her opponent compose herself for her next attack.

Maria shook herself after the horrible attack. This opponent of hers would be hard to beat, even more so that she was now heeded by the ironic paralysis that had just recently been afflicted upon her. However, she would not give up just yet, as she still had a lot of fight in her, and she was still pumped up from destroying Razia. She began to prepare herself for her next attack, another façade pummelling, when she felt her muscles tense up as she began to run. She made about a half step before she could not move at all. She let out a disgruntled groan as she fell to the ground like a poorly balanced statue. She hit the hilt hard, and grimaced as she felt the pain rock her body, yet she still could not move her body.

Sisay eyed her opponent carefully. She was worried this was all a trap, and when she went over to perform her next attack something that was at the moment unbeknownst would horribly injure her. It was of course possible that her opponent was actually fully paralysed, but Sisay wasn’t sure. However, the one thing that overruled her neurotic conscience was her trainer’s orders, which she absolutely had to obey. Once more she began running down the hilt, her body still brimming with energy from being released such a short time ago. This time she needn’t jump as her opponent was sprawled out before her. She ran over and stretched her jaw once more and let dark energy swirl around her teeth. She quickly bent down and once more attacked her skin with her mouth, causing the Plusle to once more screech in pain. It was a horrible sight for Maria to see the darkened jaws come right at her.

Sisay slowly backed away again, leaving Maria feeling horrible on the hilt of the sword. She now knew what Razia had gone through in the one round where she had failed to act at all. This was even worse, as she had wasted energy singing first, and then been paralysed the whole round. She would’ve groaned with displeasure, but at the moment she was unable to as the paralysis manifesting her was not being generous. She tried to move around a bit, but she was still locked down on the ground. She moved her eyes around and saw Sisay staring at her, waiting for her to make a move. Maria thought she saw a hint of pity in Sisay’s eyes, meaning that her vicious opponent did have a heart, and that she was not just another test dummy. To end the round the horrible poison once more dug at her skin, making her start to feel suicidal. But she knew with all her heart that giving up was not an option.

Good job, Sisay! Ok, let's heap on the hurt.

Let's just keep it simple with triple Crunch. If at any time you fall asleep, Snore. And let's be cautious; if your Energy somehow gets below 60% and you haven't Chilled this round, Chill.

Crunch/Snore/Chill x3

Maria can't Rest, so... Thunder Wave first, to get back at the Shinx. After that, use Facade. Then Last Resort, since the triple Crunch should get you close to fainting, unfortunately.

Sisay was quite honestly tired of having to use the same move over and over again, but trainers’ orders were trainers’ orders, and that meant she had to obey. She sheepishly realized that Crunch was actually doing a fair bit of damage to the poor paralysed electric rodent before her. She once more bolted forwards across the blade and eyed her opponent who still sat in an odd form on the “ground”. It was no time to feel pity for her opponent, but Sisay was a naturally emotional Shinx. With the tiniest bit of remorse she let the dark energy encircle her mandibles once more, then she chomped down upon her opponent with brute force. Maria felt the paralysis loosen slightly in this moment, and she let out an involuntary scream of agony. Her health was going down the drain at an alarming rate, and there was nothing she could do about it.

Sisay backed up again, and Maria took advantage of her sudden lack of paralysis and jumped up onto her feet. She was feeling the wear and tear of the battle press hard against her, but she was still in this for as long as she could be. She watched her opponent back away, and she could realize that her opponent thought that the battle was completely in her grasps. Well, Maria wasn’t going to let that happen. She began to charge electric energy again, this time for a status inflicting attack. The paralysis was being kept at bay, but that could change at any moment. When the attack had been charged fully a small burst of electricity cam flying from her cheeks. The bolt surged forward and struck Sisay head on, damaging her in a near permanent way. As the wave struck Sisay’s muscles clamped up, making it so that all three battle participants so far had been paralysed.

Maria now realized that her opponent, like her, had had a large reduction in speed, making it so that she had the honour of attacking first. She was now finally going to do something to her cocky opponent, and she would relish it. She began to charge forward on her small little feet, when lo and behold her limbs seized up before she could make it more than a few paces. She grunted in dismay, as she still had control of her head, but managed to stay upright again. Sisay couldn’t help snickering as her opponent tried to break free of her imprisonment.

Sisay stared at her opponent idly before realizing that she was not going to get any farther in the action. She started to wonder if anything would ever damage her, but brushed the thought aside. She, of course, was paralysed as well, and could just the same be unable to attack for a multitude of time. This time however was not the case. The paralysis did not to be severely impeding her at the given moment, though like Maria she knew that this condition could change in a blink of an eye. With her slightly cramped limbs she set off towards Maria again, and once more she dug her enhanced fangs into the small rodent’s body. She was hoping that this time she would leave some gashes that would decrease her opponent’s defensive capabilities slightly, but no such thing happened. She backed away for the umpteenth time and waited for her opponent’s next move.

Maria began to push within herself, willing her muscles to flare back into action right here right now. The move she was to use was made to pummel her opponent in quite a hard way. She fought as hard as she could, and with one last burst of strength she broke free. She was about to charge forward bellowing a savage (for her species) war cry, when she realized she was physically unable to perform her next move. She tried to will herself to push forward and perform her attack, but she knew it was impossible. She now had to focus on keeping her balance, as she had nearly fallen after breaking free of the paralysis.

Sisay looked at her opponent with an odd sense of distaste. What kind of Pokemon was she fighting? One that appeared to be unable to destroy her opponent with barrage upon barrage of vicious attacks. Why was her trainer forced to use this… thing as a plush toy or punching bag? Sometimes she just couldn’t understand human logic. If she had been her trainer she would’ve simply sent her out against a vicious Tyranitar and let her fend for herself. She realized with embarrassment that she was simple rambling in her head, and she began to run forward once more. This time she realized that a jump was required, so she bounced into the air and came down upon her opponent painfully, teeth bared. For the fifth time in a row she dug her teeth into her opponent’s tender flesh, then pulled out again with ease. Maria was feeling so much pain that she wanted to scream. And that she did. Finally the poison damage, now at nearly it’s full potential bit into Maria’s bloodstream.

Maria was in a state of complete pain. She was nearly on the ground, but she knew that she still had some fight left in her. This opponent of hers was not about to escape without a severe pummelling, she was going to make sure of that. She focused hard for her next attack. The paralysis was still being held at bay, and she would take advantage of this as much as she could. With a scream of both fatigue and pain she charged forward, then unleashed a powerful attack consisting of all forms of physical contact. The devastating attack really took a toll on her small body, but she pressed on. She could here her opponent screech in front of her, but she would not stop until the point was made. She was powerful. With one last punch to the ear Maria backed off gasping for breath. As the attack was finished the atmospheric bubble surrounding the sword ended it’s magnifying display, and the star melted away into the far reaches of space.

Sisay cringed after all of the blows had ended. This was one feisty opponent, one that she would learn to not underestimate. Still, she herself would not contend with standing back and watching. She was just as powerful, possibly more, and she was intent in proving that in every way possible. She silently thanked her trainer (as verbal appreciation could be interpreted as anything) for giving her a new move to perform. She was just about to start her feverish dance when she felt that cold feeling in her entire body as each and every one of her muscles locked, giving her no hope of performing her move successfully. Well, it had to happen at some point.

Maria smiled slightly at her small amount of luck in the round. If she could escape without much damage this round the poison would not finish her off, and she would have time for one last onslaught. Now it was time for her to summon up the power of her rage and drop the façade. The status effects crippling her body so powerfully would be her fuel for this attack, and she would make every last hit count. She began to charge forward, her small frame beginning to sweat with the effort of battling for so long. But, as fate would have it she felt all of her muscles cramp up at the most inopportune moment. She went crashing down against the blade, though she felt no major injuries luckily. Sisay couldn’t help but smirk as she realized that bad luck was everywhere.

Sisay relaxed slightly as the paralysis that impeded her so fell off significantly, though she still felt the toll against her legs. Now that she had missed the opportunity to set herself up for her next opponent she was to go straight to the ending of her battling campaign, at least in this battle anyway. She charged forward once more, now more of a speedy loping gait. It felt very awkward for her, but she pressed on. There was no use in feeling embarrassed at this time. When she reached Maria’s unmoving form she leaned down once more and opened up her mouth. At once evil dark energy surrounded her fangs, lengthening them and making them perfect for biting down on her opponent. She delivered a swift crunch of flesh, and then backed away with a limp.

Maria was now feeling so down in the dumps that she could barely stand up as the paralysis melted away into a small heeder that she could promptly ignore. She stood up on the third try like before, remembering everything she had done in the battle so far, and savouring it. What a way to have your first ever ASB battle. She knew that if Sisay was paralysed on the next action she would stay in it, but after that is was merely a death sentence. Now to end with a bang. She let herself become consumed by her anger from the status effects, and then with one last burst of strength she bolted forwards across the blade and delivered a barrage of hits that would be worthy of Chuck Norris, Mohammed Ali, and Superman. Sisay felt the power radiating through her opponent and gave in slightly. It was all too much. With her head hung low from exhaustion Maria backed away ever so slowly, clinging to that one last hope that she might survive.

Sisay came up on shaky legs. This was getting insane, though she knew it was now time to end it. The paralysis had faded away slightly, making it so that she could actually move without having to lift up some legs or not be able to bend them. Now she could just go ahead, inflict one last Crunch, and then let that Toxic poisoning do it’s work. To make her work complete she rushed forward again, and then with her trademark Jump and Crunch she inflicted the last amount of damage that she would need to do. Immensely satisfied with herself she Bcked away grinning. Maria was in so much pain that everything seemed fuzzy to her. She could hardly see anymore, and then as the poisoning began to set in her eyelids slowly drooped. The last thing she saw before waking up in the Pokemon Centre the next day was a shooting star flying across the cosmos…
