Cryptica vs. Lanxal

Ok, we're in a rough situation. Let's try to make the best of it!

Firstly, Thunder Wave to get the paralysis.

Then, if Thunder Wave failed due to your own paralysis, Thunder Wave again. If it suceeded, Toxic.

Finally, if Thunder Wave failed again, Thunder Wave one last time. If it suceeded, Fire Fang.

Thunder Wave ~ Thunder Wave/Toxic ~ Thunder Wave/Fire Fang

Start out with Fake Out. Then Rain Dance to avoid a whole buncha damage from Fire Fang. After that... use Ice Punch.

Arena Description: A Giant Sword in Space (Exactly What It Says On The Tin)

Imagine the deep reaches of space, soundless, desolate, endless blackness in all directions.

Now imagine a giant sword, of medieval design, floating through this void. You know, just a normal giant sword, doing what giant swords do best: floating through space and occasionally being pointed at by people with dumbfounded expressions.

That, my friends, is the arena.

Let's get into the nitty gritty parts. The sword drifts through space blade-first, as if some giant had thrown it like a dart into the sky and wondered why it wasn't coming back. Poor giant. Around the sword is a bubble of air that moves with the sword, like an atmosphere over a sword-shaped world. The sword is roughly two wailords long and proportionately wide, while the perfectly spherical air bubble is about five wailords in diameter. The air is room-temperature. Gravity exists on the sword on both sides, so you can jump over the side of the sword and land on the other side, upside down to your opponent.

Also, and here's the really fun bit: at the beginning of every round, each pokemon has a 5% chance of getting hit by a small meteor, causing 5% typeless damage. If they do, they miss their actions for that round.

And once again, this is the design of the sword for reference.

Round 12

Cryptica XO

Lust stared at her obviously impaired opponent and thanked her second lieutenant in her head. She had made a wreck of this Shinx, and now Lust was here to finish the job. The necklace around her neck that held her Razor Fang made her feel more confident than ever, and she planned to make this quick and painful. With a burst of inhumane speed she rocketed across the blade of the sword. Sisay saw her opponent coming but knew that any hope of dodging the attack was hopeless. Lust reached Sisay in a matter of seconds, and then quick as a flash she delivered two small blows to the side of Sisay’s head. Sisay cringed underneath the attack on her pressure points and felt quite dazed afterwards. In a series of hops Lust fell back a couple of paces, knowing that she did not have to worry about any attacks from her opponent in this action.

Sisay felt the power of Lust and groaned slightly. And she had thought that Maria had been powerful. This took it to a whole new level, and Sisay did not like it one bit. Now for her to even the odds slightly. Or was she to attack her opponent with a vicious bite, or whack, or some other form of physical attack? Maybe boost her stats or reduce Lust’s? It was all so confusing for her. She tried to remember her trainer’s commands, but she had nothing. She realized that those swift blows to the head must have messed up her memory, and now she felt embarrassed to the extreme. She saw Lust a few feet away grin at her. It looked to Sisay that that memory blanketing had been planned, and that Lust was enjoying herself immensely.

Lust was, like Sisay expected, quite happy with what had happened and, like Sisay also expected, had planned it out, or at least her trainer had. Thanks to a loophole in Lanxal’s commands Lust would not have to worry about paralysis for the rest of the round. Now to make this a bit harder for her opponent. She began to dance around like a ballerina on her side of the blade, letting loose her inner Baryshnakov. She began to get wilder with each step, now twirling around in the air and letting loose vivacious kicks and majestic hand movements. With a spinning finale she raised her hands to the sky as if she was expecting applause. In answer grey and bleak atmospheric clouds once more began to appear, and from them came a downpour of rain that made even Lust unhappy.

Sisay did not actually like rain very much, admittedly a fire-type would hate the rain more, but she wasn’t exactly feeling at home like a Psyduck or Wooper might in this weather. Though she did admit that the weather helped her perform those daring electrical attacks she would’ve much preferred no weather on the sword. Realizing she was procrastinating she decided to start working on her attack, but she was in a bit of a pickle at the moment. She was to use Toxic unless Thunder Wave had failed on the last action because of paralysis. She knew her trainer’s intentions were to get Lust paralysed no matter what, but the command stated that Thunder Wave was only to be used in the circumstance that she had failed due to paralysis. Muttering a curse in her native tongue as she knew it was a hopeless decision she began to form a Toxic blob deep in the depths of her stomach. She made it as big as she could with out clogging up her oesophagus, and then launched it straight through her mouth and through the air. However, when it exited her body the taste caused her to gag slightly, and the blob was hurled away from Lust, not at her. The Sneasel watched the blob sail past her with a grin that widened when the torrential rains washed the blob away. Sisay groaned as she realized that the battle really was not going her way.

Lust felt even more pleased with herself now even though the toxic missing had just been a fluke. It was now an added bonus that both status effects meant to affect her this round had been neutralized accordingly. Now to lay the hurt down on that poor paralysed mammal opposing her so. Using her frosty powers that she had inherited from a long line of Sneasels and Weaviles she let out a small trail of ice crystals from her mouth. These crystals began to circle her hand excitedly, so she lifted her hand, which was curled in a fist, and the motes began to latch on to her. Soon her entire fist was covered with ice, and more of it was getting accumulated every second as raindrops struck it and froze. She then rushed forward towards the weak Sisay the Shinx. When she reached her opponent she hesitated slightly because of her horrible state, but then brushed the thought of pity away quick as a flash. She was here to battle, not mourn the unlucky. With a grunt she delivered a quick punch to Sisay’s gut, causing her to nearly bowl over in pain. Lust backed away again as her poor opponent began to sob.

Sisay, poor crying Sisay, could not find any motivation to continue, even though she knew she had to. Her opponent was having fun making her feel injured, unwanted, and unlucky. She knew she had to perform an attack, but she couldn’t find any reason why. She had already lost in her opinion, so what was the use. She looked up slightly then, and saw her opponent snickering at her. Well, that set her off. With a scream, she began to bolt across the blade, not paying any attention to the paralysis afflicting her limbs. Lust was quite surprised by the sudden attack, and became even more flustered when the blue haired creature bowled her over onto the ground. With screams of hate she surrounded her fangs with gushing flames, then bit down as hard as she possibly could on her opponent’s arm. Lust grunted in obvious displeasure as her opponent kept her teeth locked to her black flesh. After what seemed like hours Sisay pulled away, breathing hard, and left the surprised Sneasel to think about her priorities.

Lust watched the crying mess with glee. This would be too much fun for her, though she may not want to look too happy at the risk of her trainer thinking she was insane. Ah, well, at least her next move would let her release her own emotions. Sisay gradually stood again, sparks playing about her form as the paralysis was held at bay. Lust noticed that her opponent was now watching her and began her torment. She began to insult her opponent in every way possible, leaving the poor miserable Shinx feeling alone and in the dark. She insulted her odd fur, her horrible typing, her bad moveset, and her weakness to any and all Pokemon that could actually attack her physically. Sisay began to shiver with displeasure at the verbal thrashing she was enduring, but Lust didn’t let out. When the icy fiend had finally relinquished all of her “Yo Mama” jokes she sat back (figuratively) to watch the spectacle that would unfold presently.

Sisay put her down to her paws. It was all too much. Why was she still in this, why hadn’t her trainer forfeited the match? Her opponent was treating her like a prisoner, but she was still expected to fight like she had a chance. The only thing that kept her going was the thought of being closer to her lifelong goal of being a Luxray after knocking out Maria Ross, and possibly Lust if she could really push herself. She knew that the rain cloud was still positioned above her, and that gave her a vain hope that with some nasty electric surges she could end this in her favour. With her confidence boosted again she lifted her head up to face her snickering opponent. Then, with only a millisecond to compose herself she formed the most gruesome face that she could make her features contort into. Her tongue lolled out of her mouth at an odd angle, her nose became scrunched, and she squinted her eyes. For a second they seemed to flash red, but then they were back to their normal colour. Lust was dumbfounded by the new surge of emotion that came from Sisay, and backed away slowly. The face slowly returned to normal, but Lust was still mentally scarred.

With her mind turning thanks to an unwanted face contortion by her opponent Lust proceeded carefully with her next attack. No need to mess up her opponent even more. And her trainer might think SHE was insane. What a weird world (or sword) they lived in/on. Now to deliver a crushing blow, with caution of course. She began to run down the blade of the sword with a small bit of grace uncommon to her. Was this the Sneasel way of being careful, or some sort of idea that could turn into a master plan? Nobody knew except for Lust herself. She was still much faster than her opponent as she still suffered from paralysis that did not seem to be fading away at all, though it was freeing her (or so it seemed) so far. Sisay eyed her opponent oddly. This was not an attacking technique she was familiar with. Her opponent was zigzagging slightly now, trying to keep herself well intoned with her common sense. She couldn’t mess up here. Then, with a burst of speed she set off in a sprint, jumped, and while in mid-air conjured just about enough ice crystals to cover her fist. The extra ice from the rain gave her a few more crystals, and she slammed her fist down hard upon her electric opponent, leaving a stinging welt. No ice crystals were left behind, but she still felt good about herself, as she hadn’t managed to trigger her opponent’s gruesome tendency.

Sisay realized that the paralysis couldn’t be held off for long, so she had to act quickly. She began to feed off of the electric energy within her, pushing as hard as she could like a generator to get all of the energy needed. She was straining herself, but it needed to be done. With a grimace she kept the energy flowing until she knew that the energy she had would suffice. Letting out a screech of obvious pain she let the bolt go. It sizzled through the rain, heading this way and that, but eventually hitting the lithe shape of Lust the Sneasel. Lust tried to dodge, but in the weather at hand it was nearly impossible. It was almost as if the bolt had a homing device attached to it, or at least it could go horribly widespread. Lust ironically felt no pain from the bolt, but when she tried to move again she felt her limbs crunch up against her side. She groaned, feeling for the first time in the battle that she was slowly getting more evenly matched with her opponent.

Lust realized with a bit of glee that she was STILL faster than her opponent. This was understandable, as normally she had a point difference of 60 in that stat department. Now in normal situations this would’ve been great for her, but the move that she was now commanded to use would not be beneficial in the situation. She sighed; at least her trainer would realize that she still had the advantage. With a small screech she began to lope towards her opponent as fast as she could. She was going pitifully slow for a Sneasel, but she kept going. As she reached Sisay she generated dark orbs around herself. These orbs flocked to one of her claws, where they formed a dark and foreboding film around her now clenched fist. If she had already been attacked this action more dark orbs would have been generated, doubling her offensive power, but this would have to suffice. When she reached Sisay she delivered a wrenching blow with her dark-powered fist. The Shinx had the air knocked out of her body, and she began to pant hard. It had hurt her severely, and she was really starting to feel the toll of competitive battling. But the thought of being a Luxray still kept her going, and she brushed the pain away with an amount of willpower that she was surprised she still had control of.

Sisay may have still been suffering from the horrible pain, but she knew her next attack could turn the tables in her favour for the duration of the battle. She stared at the rain cloud above her and smiled. There was a certain thrill about frying your opponent with bolts from the heavens that appealed to her immensely, in a demented sort of way. Using her electrical powers she began to charge electricity again, letting it flow through her body. Lust watched this with some curiosity, wondering what her feeble opponent would conjure up to damage her. Or try to damage her. Lust smiled; sometimes the jokes she told in her mind could get a smile out of her. Sisay was grimacing as electrical currents flowed through her body. She was trying not to move so that she wouldn’t activate the paralysis, and this caused bolts to sting her at random intervals as they tried to move around outside of her body. After only ten more seconds of agony she realized that unless she released the bolt at that moment she would sustain permanent injury. With a violent scream she released the energy, but the bolt did not exit from her. From out of the clouds came a magnificently yellow surge of pure electricity. The bolt slammed down upon Lust, and the poor Sneasel screamed. This was pain she had not experienced before. She tried to ignore it, but the energy entered her skin and ravaged her to the extreme. As soon as it had come, it was gone, and in its wake it left an agonized ice-type Pokemon.

Round 14

As soon as orders are given, Lust begins charging fighting-type energy in her claws. Sisay, meanwhile, begins to gather toxins in her mouth. Sisay’s attack is ready far sooner than Lust’s. She looks up at the Sneasel and spews purple poisonous goo at Lust, who can feel the poison seeping into her body. Her focus remains, however, and she continues charging energy for a minute longer. Sisay stares at her opponent at this curious display. Then, suddenly, Lust’s eyes snap open and she charges across the sword. Sisay is caught surprised as Lust thrusts her fist, now glowing a fierce brown with fighting-type energy, into her tiny body. The Shinx is flung further down the blade of the sword before finally coming to rest.

While Sisay recovers, Lust begins a quick dance. Soon enough, the rain that had been pouring down slowly changes into falling snow and hail. Sisay charges through this new weather formation that hovers above. She leaps at Lust with dark energy flowing through her fangs and chomps down hard on her ear. Lust squeals with pain and shakes her head vigorously until she shakes off her attacker.

Free of the pain in her ear, Lust waits patiently for Sisay to attack again. She doesn’t have to wait long, as the Shinx starts sparkling with electricity while retreating to a safe distance. With a howl, a bolt of lightning falls from the overhead hail cloud, narrowly missing Lust, who expected an attack from Sisay herself. This only serves to make her angrier, and so it’s her turn to charge down the sword’s blade. Dark-type energy glows around her claws as she slashes Sisay powerfully, once again flinging her a ways down the blade.

Round 15

Lust once again begins sprinting down the length of the blade, her fist glowing a light blue and sparking with tiny ice crystals. Sisay has to time to recover from her last assault before her opponent punches her with her freezing claw. The tiny Shinx stumbles backwards under the blow. Instead of responding with a direct attack, the tired Pokémon begins a strange, almost clumsy dance. The relentless hail from above slowly begins to change into a steady downpour of water as Sisay continues her dance.

Eager to finally end this, Lust decides nothing makes for a better revenge than turning the enemy’s advantages against them. She draws on the paralysis that slows her down, taking on a faint yellow glow. Then, grinning evilly at Sisay, she charges up to her and delivers a powerful slash to the Shinx. Sisay whines in protest as she is knocked over. She makes no effort to stand, too worn out to struggle any further.
