Re: Pokémon Registration Office

Twitch (Female Skarmory) <Keen Eye>
Signature Move: Smashing Hallway Traps of Doom

Using the moves she already knows, Twitch has come up with a way to create the ultimate battle hazard. She's taken moves such as spikes and stealth rock, adding in some of her own metal, and formed a move that is much larger and more hazardous.

She uses all these moves and creates a larger, spiky, thorny, destructive wall between her and her opponent. The wall isn't so much solid as it is made out of spikes and metal and things that will cause damage to whoever tries to break through it. There are holes in the wall, but there are also metal spikes sticking through that will cut you if you try to go through those holes. In effect, this is a block between her and whoever she wants to stop from getting to her. The wall is as tall as Twitch is - roughly 5'6 - and it curves in a U shape around her, but does not fully surround her.

The wall can usually be broken down after what amounts to 15% damage. It acts as a steel-type, meaning it is weak to fire attacks, resists dark, etc.

Steel / Other / 7% / One action to use, lasts until the wall is broken down
Effects: Creates a spiky doomy wall between her and whoever she sets it up between. The wall causes damage to whoever tries to pass through (decided on by the ref; the wall is made up of sharp objects and however much damage is done should be decided by what the pokemon attempting to pass through does to itself, and obviously types are taken into account).
Usage Gap: Every 5 rounds since the last wall breaks down.

Sounds good to me. Approved.

[Bruno]
unled1uq.png
(M)
Ability: Stench
Signature Move: Sticky Harden

Bruno is very affectionate. He likes pokemon a lot. Sometimes, he just wishes he could keep them forever. And he might have found a way to do that!

He slides over to his intended target and covers them up in... himself. Then he hardens real hard, using Sticky Harden, and he seems to solidify so much that whatever he's covered can't possibly get out without him letting them. In fact, the only way he'll let them is if he's ordered too, because he just loves his pokemon so much! However, he can only keep himself hardened so much for so long, and so after 3 rounds he'll have to let go.

Poison / Neutral / 95% / Single / 5% initial action, 1% keep-up / Three actions
For each action that the pokemon he's hugging is being hugged, there is a 5% increase of his ability's chances of activating, being activated (5%, 10%, 15%, etc.), maxing out at 35%. It can also activate without contact moves being used, because of the close contact. Also, there is a 5% chance each action that the pokemon being hugged will be mildly poisoned.
3 rounds from end of all effects

You still haven't specified exactly how the opponent can move or attack while affected by Sticky Harden. I assume they can't really move at all, as you changed the effects to three actions - however in the description, you still said three rounds. Also, the chances of his ability activating don't line up with the duration anymore. Since the chances are so dramatically lowered, though, a change to 20%, 25%, and then 30% sounds good to me.

[Louis] Croagunk (M)
Ability: Anticipation
Signature attribute: Adept Dancer

Louis grew up in a competitive world - but not in battling, no, in dancing. Indeed, he's got swift, nimble feet, and knows just how to use them. He can keep up with the quickest of the quick, kicking and swinging and jumping, knowing just when to swerve and just when to dive and just when the stand pointe. He's and excellent dancer, even in his most competitive of classes.

Of course, now he's moved on to battling, it's a completely different world. But he's learned to take what he knew from dancing and apply it here - using his nimble feet to dodge better, to strike better, to fight better.

Most alarmingly, he's learned gained an extreme control over his body - the kind of control most dancers strive for. But it extends further than dance. It extends towards battle, of course, but further even than that. He's learned to manipulate the elements he can control away from their intended areas, and towards his feet; meaning, he can turn Ice Punch into an Ice Kick. In effect, its power, effects, etc. remain the same - but he uses it as a kick instead. And, because he is far more adept in kicking than punching, it is stronger because of that.

Effects: All kicking moves used by Louis gain a +1 bonus, including moves adapted to kicks by his ability.

All elemental moves (meaning: fire/water/grass/electric/ice) that would be used from one area of the body are focused towards the feet instead, used as a kick. If the attack would not make sense, it fails or Louis uses the normal body part to attack instead, meaning it gets no bonus.

Cocoa [Cyndaquil] ♀
Blaze

Signature Attribute: Chocolatey Goodness

Cocoa is, as her on-the-nose name implies, a huge fan of cookies. Further evidence includes her rotundity as well as the giant cookie with holes in it that she wears on her back. Whether they be chocolate chip (her favorite) or full metal (discontinued, due to several dental complaints), Cocoa is a friend to everything chewy, moist, and filled with lots of sugar. This has led to two things: One, Cocoa is rather plump for a cyndaquil, and two, she hatched a convoluted scheme to get her life smelling as much like her favorite treat as possible.

At her request, her trainer whipped up a batch of chemicals in his chemistry set from when he was five; when loaded into the gigantic fake cookie on her back, the mixture begins to evaporate and gives her the faint, constant scent of baking chocolate chip cookies. When the fire on her back flares through the big cookies, the chemicals react instantly with the combustion and produce an intense aroma of slightly-burnt cookies that covers the area, covering up any other smells and making her very, very happy.

Effects
: Cocoa constantly smells of baking chocolate-chip cookies. Furthermore, when she lights her back on fire (only when ordered to do so at the start of a round for a cost of 4% energy for the purposes of the ability), the cyndaquil emits a much stronger scent that has a wide range of effects. The effects last for a full round, and can be renewed at the start of the next.

Odor Sleuth automatically targets her and only her when used, due to the fantastically overpowering scent that wafts from her. All opponent pokémon are put under the effects of a Sweet Scent attack. The moves Sweet Scent and Aromatherapy are left completely ineffective, as is the ability Stench and the part of Flower Gift that affects allies. Making contact with her while she is flaming has a 10% chance of causing the next attack performed to fail as the attacker is caught up in the wonderful smell. Pokémon species that have Gluttony as an ability have a 40% chance of this happening instead.

[Mort] Gastly [M]
Levitate

Signature Attribute
: Snowy Spirit

Mort, although his personality is the very picture of the typical trickster gastly, he's very obviously different, physically. Born to a clan of northern-spawned gastly, and with a very definite streak of froslass, glalie, and castform in his ancestry, Mortimer the Ghost is not an animate cloud of gaseous compounds; he is, in fact, an animate cloud of snow, ice, and frigid air. When he was 'spawned', coalescing from his egg into a ghostly 'body', his egg had been left above-ground during an intense blizzard. As his family his phased underground, the high-velocity snowflakes and chips of ice were caught in his unstable still-forming body. The gastly's castform ancestry having imbued him with a slight tendency to react to weather, and his snorunt ancestors giving his body a natural affinity for ice, this invasion of ice particles was, instead of expelled or changed to water vapor by his immune system, accepted as a natural bodily feature and incorporated into his (very abnormal and ghostly) DNA. This reduced his innate poisonous abilities, dampened his more fiery powers to nil, and changed what effect he can have over the weather.

Effects: Mort is considered to be a Ghost/Ice type.
He loses use of the moves Sunny Day, Fire Punch, Will-O-Wisp, Venoshock, and Sludge Bomb.
He gains use of the moves Hail, Aurora Beam, Icy Wind, Ice Beam, and Powder Snow.

- Spine Chiller

Signature Move: Spine Chiller

Mort, as a ghost, is well-versed in a number of hilarious pranks: he can do the old Haunted Scarecrow bit, or the newer Kanto Kick-in-the-Pants, or even the complicated It's Raining Eyeballs. His favorite however, as an Ice-type, is the good old Spine Chiller. In its normal, simple form, a ghost of any type is able to induce a physical feeling of panic in a person by quickly passing through them; Mort is rather more literal-minded than that in his performance of the trick. By phasing himself swiftly through his target, while amplifying his innate Ice energies, Mort can leave an inches-thick layer of frosty ice that covers a part of his opponents body. He can choose beforehand what part of his opponent to freeze, say, a torso or perhaps their ankles. The result see is rather more akin to the freezing in the anime than in most other moves; a large hunk of ice covering part of the opponent rather than a thin layer of frost.

Type: Ice / Stat: Status / Target: Single Target / Accuracy: 100% / Energy: 6% /

Effects
: Mort flies through his opponent, leaving them severely frozen over a chosen point on their body. The area chosen may not exceed a third of his opponent's body; he could, for example, freeze a hitmonlee about up to its knee area if he so chose, but not its whole legs.

Signature Attribute: Musth Forme

In older days, one of the most fearsome creatures seen in Johto was a donphan during mating season. The males of this old breed would, when ready to sow their wild oats, go into a wild state of confused rage, called musth. Caused by, in simple terms, a torrent of hormones gushing through their system, musth caused more pokémon-on-human killings than almost anything else. It was characterized by, among other things, a lividly red substance between the eyes and the ears, as well as an utterly ridiculous spike in testosterone levels.

Although it was eventually evolved or bred out of almost all donphan populations, it remains a problem in some isolated areas, such as the island that a friend of Blastoise's got this particular phanpy from. Enojada not only has this condition, but she is one of the only recorded cases of a female who experiences musth.

Effects: Whenever Enojada is targeted by Attract, Captivate, or another move or ability that involves romantic feelings, she immediately changes into her Musth Forme. In this state, she is immune to the effects of attraction and captivation (although she is technically attracted) and is put under the Taunt status for the remainder of her time in musth. Furthemore, all of her physical attacks do 2% more damage after all other calculations. She remains in Musth Forme until either the end of the next round or the end of the round after that, randomly. She remains moderately attracted for three actions after the effects of musth end. The three-action attraction is ignored if her opponent has switched out since musth began.

Got a light weight automail arm for my Teddiursa.

[Shardik] Teddiursa (M) <Quick feet>
Body mod: Light Weight Arm: A steel arm that is made out of thin metal, connected to the body’s nerves. This arm is light, giving the wearer a bit more speed than before by +1 as well as a heightened attacking power of +1 for all arm-related attacks. This arm is vulnerable to heavy damaging blows and fire-type attacks. This arm would last about 5 battle before needing repairs.

[Azuraine] Nidorino (M)
Ability: Poison point
Signature Attribute: Viewer Gender Confusion

Azuraine is shiny, which creates quite a few problems, namely ones concerning his gender. Usually it wouldn't be so bad, but somehow his trainer got the /brilliant/ idea of faking his gender when he was just a nidoran. Not willing to give up the facade once he evolved, they even decided to pay for minor plastic surgery just to get an advantage in battle. Anything to win, right??? Slapping a purple barette on his head (this is just flavor, the barette does nothing and does not take up an item spot), his trainer did the best they could to embarrass him make sure his opponent was confused. However, all this humiliation does hold a few advantages. He looks just like a girl.

Therefore, he can get a few advantages. Once he is in battle most competitors automatically assume he is female, and is then treated as such. Usually male pokemon will be the ones trying to win "her" favor (if they were unordered and uninformed), and females will be less likely to try to attract him (but if they do try he will fall for them), unless he has revealed his gender. If so, he acts like any other unfortunate shiny nidorino.

Effects: Azuraine looks like a really ugly nidorina. Enemy pokemon will come into battle believing he is female. Azuraine can still be attracted by females. Azuraine can attract, as well as captivate and all other moves restricted by gender either gender (males by looking like a girl, females by revealing he is in fact a boy) but attract's chance of working is reduced to 70% due to him being kind of weird. The accuracy of attract by a female is reduced to 60% due to the pokemon being generally confused and trying less hard to seduce an (apparent) girl. If said pokemon is lesbian, then that reduction no longer applies. The ability rivalry will act as if he is a female unless he has revealed his gender, in which case it works as normal.

Also, return's power is reduced to the minimal amount and frustration is at its maximum from default due to him being really irritated at having to pretend he's a girl. Rage starts two stages higher than normal.

Never thought I'd evolve him, but hey! Nidoking are pretty great.

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

That was a typo, actually. It's supposed to be "move". Because. You know. Spinning.

[Rotalon] Drilbur (F)
Ability: Sand Rush
Signature Attribute: Air Drill

Drilbur are known to drill. They simply have the natural instinct to spin, and usually live in caves, and are often taught to drill through rock by their parents. This, however, presents a problem that isn't adressed much: When raised away from caves, and without parents to teach them, when they simply have the instinct to spin left, what happens? Rotalon was born from an egg given to Mendatt, who doesn't have any other Drilbur or Excadrill. She spins a lot, which isn't uncommon among Drilbur, but doesn't know to spin while facing the ground. She simply spins while standing up, whenever she's bored or has nothing she needs to do. She often accumulates a good deal of momentum while spinning, which is yet another trait of Drilbur. A side effect of this is that she acts as a propeller, which went largely unnoticed until the time she slanted her arms slightly and Mendatt had to dig her out of the ceiling. That was quite a long time ago, and she kept using it as a pastime, so she's gotten quite good at it since then.

Effect:

Rotalon's drill hand things can act as a propeller when she spins, sending her into the air. She's treated as consensually hovering, although she can't do so consecutively for more than five actions and cannot move while doing so. She also expends 1% energy for each action she spends in the air after the first, which she expends 3% energy on. She can also propel herself through water with this technique, although being a ground type she would really rather not be in the water in the first place.
However, as she never learned to drill, she cannot use Drill Run like most Drilbur, and all of her other Ground-type attacks do 2% total less damage after all other calculations- for dig, because she doesn't drill and instead opts to dig by hand like most of the pokemon that learn it, and for others simply because she's less adept at manipulating the ground.

What about this?

[Gelio] Ralts F (Trace)
Signature Attribute – Aikido

There are two unique things about Gelio. One is that she always wears a kimino, for some odd reason. That one doesn't do anything. The other is that she has always wanted to be a Gallade. When she was young, she dreamed of growing up and evolving into one. Then, one day, someone told her that only male Ralts could become Gallade. She rebelled against Gamefreak's Mother Nature's blatant gender discrimination and learned Aikido by watching fighting-type pokemon. She also learned a few other tricks, mostly ones that involved something she could replicate with her psychic powers, since she doesn't have the strength to actually punch or kick hard. Unfortunately, as a result of spending so much time learning fighting-type moves, she doesn't actually know much about the powers of psychic-type pokemon, and isn't as adept at manipulating the very fabric of reality and telling the laws of physics to sit down and shut up as well as others of her kind are.

Gelio gains access to all Fighting-type special attacks, as well as all throwing-based fighting-type attacks, detect, counter, and reversal, but loses access to all Psychic-type moves.
Air Drill is fine. Aikido is fine, but are you sure you're okay with giving up all psychic attacks? That includes things like calm mind and hypnosis, you know.

Poison / Neutral / 95% / Single / 5% initial action, 1% keep-up / Three actions
For each action that the pokemon he's hugging is being hugged, there is a 5% increase of his ability's chances of activating, being activated (20%, 25%, 30%, etc.), maxing out at 35%. It can also activate without contact moves being used, because of the close contact. Also, there is a 10% chance each action that the pokemon being hugged will be mildly poisoned.

Sticky harden approved. Surprised I didn't notice it before, but "kicking attacks get +1" is ambiguous. I'm guessing you mean that they're treated as though Louis had an appropriate attacking stat level of one higher than what he actually does when he uses kicks; if so, you should say something along those lines.

I hate to keep reposting this but I still never got this Porygon from my birthday in January:

Done.

Approved.

Effects: All kicking moves used by Louis gain a +1 bonus (as if he had +1 to his attack stat), including moves adapted to kicks by his ability.

All elemental moves (meaning: fire/water/grass/electric/ice) that would be used from one area of the body are focused towards the feet instead, used as a kick. If the attack would not make sense, it fails or Louis uses the normal body part to attack instead, meaning it gets no bonus.

Also, this was skipped.

Ability: Stench
Signature Attribute: Dark Goop

Bruno grew up, and was in fact built, from particularly dark, nasty and pungent sludge. It's often assumed the sludge he was formed from was created by some nuclear plant, probably, or an illegal organization doing some sort of back-alley testing. Either way, this has affected him a bit too much - he enjoys the bit of black humour, and a bit more. He's a bit... loopy. A bit crazy. A bit dark, shall we say. This is quite clear: Everything he touches seems to fade, covered up in shadow and his nasty stench. And he definitely enjoys it, the sickly effect he has on things, people and pokemon alike. Oh, boy does he enjoy it...

Effects: Every where he goes, instead of leaving just goo, a shadow is left as well. The shadow fades before the goo does (a few actions, usually 3, before a shadow fades), but it's more deadly; anyone who touches it has a 5% chance of flinching that action. As well, his Stench ability is boosted: any attacks that involve looking at him receive a 5% flinch chance. He is also turned into a poison/dark type, receiving all immunities, resistances and weaknesses that come with that. However, he still uses as much energy as any other grimer would using a dark-type move, because he is not proficient enough with the type yet.

I'll probably change it when she evolves, but until then, it just seems simpler.
And light confusion, by Kratos' scale, lasts for two actions and has a 6% chance of doing anything whatsoever. So assuming that both pokemon target each other for all of the actions of a round, there's a... Yeah that's too big. It seemed a lot smaller when I was thinking about it a few days ago... What about this:

Everyone has rhythm in their soul, however much or however little. Everyone has an inner beat that they follow with their every action, and whether it's fast or slow, it's always there. The fact that this is incredibly cheesy does not make it any less true. Joplin is not exempt from this rule, but he doesn't precisely follow it, either. His rhythm is syncopated, and everything he does, every time he moves, he's doing it a little bit off beat. This can be fairly disconcerting to everyone around him.

When Joplin uses a move which effects another Pokemon or another Pokemon uses a move that requires physical contact with Joplin, there's a 30% chance that the other Pokemon will become lightly confused. This applies to all Pokemon, including allies in double battles, triple battles, and so forth. If Joplin's opponent becomes confused due to this ability twice, the severity will not increase, though the duration will increase by one action.

N-Gon (Genderless) <Trace>
Signature Attribute: Nanobot Swarm

N-Gon is not like normal Porygon2. He is an test subject for something simply known as "The Project", a mysterious and totally secret project to develop tiny nanomachines. He was given a swarm of what were later dubbed "Nanites" to control. Unfortunately, he was unable to control them, they simply remained inert; he and his useless Nanites were deactivated and discarded, simply thrown into the trash.

Later, though, a young woman happened to pass by and saw the deactivated Porygon. Feeling sorry for it, she picked it up and took it to the League, who gave it a jump-start; its memory was erased, but it was alive, and in gratitude it went with the young woman - though she was always curious as to why it had been so cruelly discarded.

And now it has evolved into a Porygon2. As it turns out, the only reason it couldn't control its Nanites was because it didn't have the processing power. Now that it's a much more advanced form, the Nanites have come under its control, as it and the girl discovered one day when, in training, a shimmering swarm of what looked like silver dust emerged from it and began swarming the opponent, dealing it quite significant pain. Over time, N-Gon learned to consciously control the Nanites, and it can now order them to do any of three things: attack, defend, or heal.

Unfortunately, they do have a tendency to cause random mutations on occasion; most often, that's when he consciously activates them. These mutations are pretty much always detrimental to it, unfortunately; they've pretty much come to accept it as a part of using the Nanites, though.

Effects: N-Gon can use the attacks Attack Order, Defend Order and Heal Order, though because of the fact that they make use of nanomachines and not bugs they're steel-type instead of bug-type. Their appearance is also changed from a swarm of bugs to a fine, floating silver dust. However, every time he uses one of these moves, a random one of his stats will drop by one stage for two rounds.

Signature Move: Nanite Swarm
There is one final thing N-Gon can order his Nanites to do. Though it's significantly more difficult, he can have them attack his opponent on a cellular level, causing spontaneous mutations that can affect the Pokémon's battle performance.

When he uses this attack, a shimmering silver haze rises from him, floating over to the target and entering their body on a cellular level. Once there, they start attacking anything they can find, which causes random mutations. Short of outright blocking this attack, it's nearly impossible to stop; the Nanites are so fine they can penetrate most shields and can encompass a large area fairly quickly.

Type: Steel / Class: Physical/Status / Damage: 0% / Accuracy: 100% / Target: Single / Energy: 5% / Duration: Mutations remain until the end of the battle

This attack can only be stopped or reduced by Protect, Detect or something else that enables the user to avoid all damage; it bypasses Safeguard entirely, for example. It causes random mutations to the target that increase or decrease any random combination of attack, defense, special attack, special defense and speed by random amounts - though no more than six stages of modification will occur, and the net gain is always zero (which is to say, for every +1, it must be balanced by a -1, and vice versa.) These modifications are treated as the default for Haze and similar, and are exempt from the normal ±6 limit.

Adept dancer approved.

I'm still not really seeing a drawback here... Bruno doesn't get the full benefits of a dark/poison-type (no energy bonus on dark-type attacks), but that's getting less than you could, not getting burned by what you have.

Pokémon that have the Gluttony ability have a 40% chance of this happening instead.

[Terezi] Oshawott (F) <Torrent>

Sig Attribute: Blinded by the Sun

Terezi Pyrope, at one point, could see. However, one night, Vriska Serket got revenge on her for telling Doc Scratch about her cue ball and therefore losing her left arm and eye. First, Vriska took control of Tavros Nitram, a troll who could communicate with animals. He then contacted Terezi's lusus, a blind dragon who could control Terezi in her sleep. In a double psychic reacharound, the dragon was then forced to make her walk outside and stare into the intense Alternian sun, blinding her.

But she prefers it this way.

Effects: Terezi is blind. This means that she is immune to moves and abilities involving light or vision, like Confuse Ray, Flash, and Illuminate. She is always under the effects of Odor Sleuth due to her keen sense of smell.

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

Upon evolving into an Altaria, Nova was struck by a very sudden case of Amnesia (probably caused by the power surge from her newly draconic blood) and instantly forgot her signature move.

Sad story bro.

Drawback?

Also, I'm not really feeling pokémon being, literally, characters out of another canon. If something similar happened to your oshawott, that's cool, but I don't think she should actually *be* Terezi.

( Just realized I am the biggest hypocrite for saying this, but oh well. )

[Mister Noir] Mime Jr. [♂]
Filter

Signature Attribute: Mimey Touch

Noir is a Mime by descent and career, but even other Mime Jr. and Mr. Mime think he's a bit too into it. He's so fixated on it, in fact, that his Psychic abilities make him, his attacks, and everything that he does look permanently greyscale to everyone and everything around him, so long as he's conscious. When he battles or performs, he is surrounded by a haze of shifting hues of grey that pools about him, casting a shadow of colorlessness around him. He's also completely silent all the time; he never speaks except for telepathy, and he uses even that sparingly. Noir is also completely colorblind. He also feels that everyone should be allowed to be like him. Having closed off his ability to see color to further his obsession with grey, and also psychically changing other mental features to be mimey, he's become quite adept at doing the same for others.

Effects: Whenever Mister Noir succeeds in using a contact move with no secondary effect on another pokémon, there is an 50% chance that they will be gifted/afflicted with his psychic colorblindness and other associated conditions. At the moment of contact, grey spreads from the touched area and quickly spreads all over the afflicted pokémon. They become unable to discern colors, or use any sound-based moves. The accuracy of Attract and Captivate are halved as well, due to the lack of a vocal component.

On the flip side, Mister Noir is permanently under the above effects, excepting the Attract and Captivate clause since he's good at miming his 'affections'. The easiest way to make the effects end for Noir to fall asleep; while unconscious, he is unable to keep his self-imposed mental blocks up, which means that everyone on the field who is affected are 'cured', including him. Upon waking, Noir gains it back, but other pokémon stay cured. Otherwise, moves or abilities such as Refresh that purge all major status effects also remove Noir's effect. Dark types are immune to being put under the effects of his mimeyness, as are primary Psychic-types.
