• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

-Attack power for several attacks increased?

And accuracy, among other things. More specifically.

And yes, TM's are now unlimited use. Unless they're, for whatever reason, 4-5 use, I've used many more than 3 times myself. Sort of kills the TM trade market, but that's all the better in my opinion, that was annoying as hell. :V Not to mention, frugal prats like me are now able to actually use the things. Only problem is some 'important' TM's are only available post-E4.

I JUST GOT MY COPY OF POKÉMON WHITE YESYESYES

As such I am now going to rip off Blaziking and detail my journey of this unknown language.

As soon as I actually begin playing that is.

Part 1:

- You're asked something in the beginning, I had no idea what it was all about, so I just chose something.

- I play as the male character and named myself Nabi. If you get the reference I love you a lot.

- I chose Pignite for my starter, as I decided against Smugleaf earlier due to its stat spread.

- Belle is pretty easy.

- CONGRATULATIONS, YOUR ROOM HAS EVOLVED INTO A MESS

- Cheren was arguably even easier.

- And then they leave and force me to clean up my room all by myself. :c

- After a lot of dialogue I can't even understand I got to nickname my Pignite. For obvious reasons I nicknamed it Ganon because it was totally obvious.

- Route 1 and the Pokémon catching tutorial!

- Caught myself a Yorterrie and named it Brave. There's another reference in there.

- Geechisu/what's-his-face's sprite looks enormous.

- N (<3) battles you with a lvl 7 Choroneko and his battle theme is amazing.

- A man on the upper floor of a building in Karakusa Town gives you a Pokéball.

- Heading off to Sanyou City.

- Belle battles you on route 2, with a a level 6 Yorterrie and a level 7 starter.

- I got the Yanappu from the girl in the Abandoned Lot, I won't be using it for my team but it will help with the Gym Leader.

- Kon is so pretty ;_; Anyway he starts with a level 12 Yorterrie and then his level 14 elemental monkey.

- You encounter Makomo as you walk out the gym, she gives you HM 01 Cut.

- And then some Plasma Grunts beat up a Munna but then I got there and beat them up instead. Man the Plasma battle theme is some unbelievably awesome.

- The Pokémon Daycare Centre is pretty close by Sanyou City. There's also a normal daycare centre where you can bully kids :D

- The Twins sprite in this game is pretty cute ;w;

- Suddenly Cheren. He uses a level 14 starter and a level 12 Choroneko.

- More Plasma Grunt Battles.

- Both Ganon and Brave evolved in the same battle, isn't that fantastic?

- I arrive in Shippou City.

- When you try to enter the gym/museum, you are stopped by N. He battles you with a level 13 Mamepato, level 13 Dokkorar, and Level 13 Otamaro.

- There's a Dragonite skeleton in the museum, and an Armaldo fossil, too.

That's what I got around doing today. Do anyone know where I can find a Sun Stone and a Thunder Stone? I need those to evolve two of my planned team members.

So in the Grr Thread, I said my mail hadn't come in three days.

Well, it came.

Shortly, the tale of Touya, the gender-confused trainer, shall appear here. Yay?

I'm going to say Yay, mostly because I was dreading the possibility of needing a 3DS to Play B/W. And I enjoy reading tales of gender-confused trainers.

Instead of these adventures appearing *here*, which is a thread really meant for general discussion of the games, might I suggest that they appear here, which is a thread actually designed for sharing your progress? Just a thought!

Sounds reasonable enough.

On a gameplay-related term, Haderia learns Take Down fairly early, which have made it a beast at this point of the game.

It also learns Bite and Crunch stupidly early, so my ghosties were also quite ineffective at not-dying against them. I kind of grew to hate the things through my playthrough. l: Never did catch one, and I kind of regret it. I tried to make Choroneko work.

Protip: It didn't. It has an impossibly awful movepool and mediocre stats. This is what I get for being a cat-person. :C

So, as an aside, I've started tinkering with the Battle Subway. I quite enjoy the battle theme remix, and that fact that they have both 'easy' and 'difficult' levels. I went through a line of the difficult singles, and it was pretty neat. It was my first run, of course, so I swept it easy - but there's no switch prompt and the stuff was obviously more potent than what would be seen in the regular line, as I imagine it's similar to the battle tower of the past. It's refreshing coming from a competitive background as I do, and gives much more utility to the fact that I tend to use U-Turn and Volt Swap a lot.

Also, the Light Blue line is meant to be doubles-team battles over wifi with a friend. Needless to say, I'm excited. I could use a partner to give it a go some time, hint nudge.

I'm a cat person too! Looks like I'm getting a dog after all. I'll deal with it.
I was checking through some sites and I found that there's this item called a 'God Stone'. It's probably an event item that gets you an event legendary, but is there any confirmation on what it does?

Apparently there's a cussfilter in the pokemon nicknaming screen now. It refuses to nickname your pokemon if you type something like 'Shit' of 'Fuck' or surprisingly, 'Merde' :U Found this out today (sister was trying to nickname that grass/fighting legendary Merde because it took so long to catch).
Even 'Dick' and 'Cock' are filtered even though they're not really dirty words now are they. :I

Adding anything after/before the words is okay though; the games accept 'Shito' or 'Dicky' etc.
It's cool if all you do is add a space after the word, too :D

Kind of funny they'd implement a swear-word-filter now, none of the previous games have had any kind of filters.

I found out about that a few days ago when PurpleKecleon tried to name a Pokemon "pine". Apparently it is a euphemism for both smoking pot and having sex. Which nobody has ever heard of, except on urbandictionary, but everything is a euphemism for everything on urbandictionary.

Pine? What Pokémon was it, anyways? And a curse word in French. That's...different. I wonder what other words are filtered...

So I dunno if this has been asked yet or not, but when can we expect some Sugimori art? Is there not some strategy guide to scan them out of, after being out for two weeks?
