• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Is it necessary for a trans* person to transition?

You know what I mean. Everyone gets oppressed. Feminists got more rights, gays got more rights, blacks got more rights. There are more of them, but still. They didn't get mad everytime someone called them a nigger or a faggot. Instead they accepted the part of society that helped them get to...

Is it necessary for a trans* person to transition?

Idgaf if you don't do anything with what I say. I never oppressed you, it's your trouble if you get angry at everyone, including the people you need to get your rights (lest you need reminding, society is cis-dominated, meaning you'll need a fair few on YOUR side if you want your rights). You...

What does the term 'Hero' mean to you?

Fuck heroes. Everyone's flawed, the fact they saved a life or five doesn't mean they're automatically good people. They could be good people but they would have been anyway and there's no need to put anyone on a pedestal.

Is it necessary for a trans* person to transition?

Some of you need to seriously chill the hell out. This thread is like a giant ball of frustration ravaging NYC or something. I don't want to say too much, because posting in this thread is like prancing full steam ahead into an Angolan minefield, but one thing; one's physical identification...

    Ever Meet Anyone Famous?

I briefly met Chrigel from Eluveitie a while back at a festival. I also met Marco Hietala once when he played with Tarot. Also one of the Katatonia guys.

    what languages do you speak?

I speak fluent Dutch and English. I've studied a fair few other languages, including French, German, Russian, Latin and Swedish. I would not say I speak any of the latter 5 fluently in terms of the fact that "I speak them like I speak my mother tongue", but I'm confused about my native language...

    The "Fwee" Thread

I've been having a successful online message conversation... entirely in Swedish after three weeks. Okay, my Swedish is faaaaaaaaaaaaar from perfect, but the other party understands and can respond, despite my grammar being shite, my vocabulary being shite, basically writing crap Swedish.

Circumcision. Religious freedom or inhumane torture?

Dicks, the movie: Bigger, Longer and Uncut. I think we've had this discussion's points being repeated ad nauseum now, so I can make the obligatory shitty joke. Do (not) enjoy, will you?

    War on Drugs

Of course drugs are harmful. But you can separate "harmful" from "legal". It's also dangerous to use a knife, or a metal rod, or to sand rosewood, or work with electricity, etc.

Circumcision. Religious freedom or inhumane torture?

Nonsense; it's practiced illegally everywhere. Ever heard that one about the uncle in Bradford ;) (re: Hiikaru; yes, we are talking about female circumcision because we are talking about female sex genitalia, this has to do with biology not gender, so it's different. The phenomenon also...

    Bands you have seen live.

I don't have time nor space to list them all. More than 100 artists for sure.

Circumcision. Religious freedom or inhumane torture?

Germany has it right. If people don't want their foreskin they can decide that when they are old enough and get it done properly using the correct anesthetics and stuff (I'm not a doctor, so I don't care what the exact procedure is - I leave that to the doctors). PS: That's male circumcision...
