• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Sometimes sharing horrible things feels better than sharing good things

even though the song is absolutely retarded, you can't deny that Rebecca Black is just cute as a button! although I can't believe she's only 13. :o

Sometimes sharing horrible things feels better than sharing good things

There aren't a lot of things that I find unwatchable. Hell, I can enjoy Jack Black movies unironically. But this is just a step too far. It was an awful, awful film which bastardised a decent TV series and I will forever hate my younger brother for making me watch this with him back when it was...

    Life is Okay.

well, considering that Scottish culture was 90% manufactured by English people in the 19th century, I'd say mission accomplished. :P

    Life is Okay.

you say that now, but when the hordes of furious English students invade Scotland then we'll see who's laughing. :3

    Life is Okay.

okay that is just unfair. :( hm, I wonder if I could've cheated the system with my German passport. :o

with respect, this is possibly some of the worst advice you could give. the fees will be tripling next year, but if you accept your uni offer now you'll get to stick with current fee levels for the rest of your undergraduate degree. which is why I'm rofling at the gappers and year 12 kiddies. :)...

    Life is Okay.

hey, I sympathise with you. I was incredibly bitter for ages after I got rejected from Oxford. just remember that absolutely loads of people got rejected, including many people who would've probably gotten in normally, simply because so many people applied this year due to the fee rises...

chillax, Lorem Ipsum was probably just using the analogy of the LotR books and forgot to go out of analogy mode in the last sentence. :P

    Your first kiss?

well I love hugging and just physical intimacy in general whether romantic or not! but my friends, cool as they are with the whole broad spectrum of sexuality thing, get a bit uncomfortable about homosocial behaviour. which is fair enough I suppose.

    What are you reading?

sample title: "Appendix IV: The Almanak en-Ashraf (Selected Excerpts of the Noble Houses)" I fear Dune may have to become something of an acquired taste.

    The "Fwee" thread II

Re: The "Fwee" Thread, Mk II Props to Daniel Craig for doing that video. :o And eh, youtube comments are generally best left unread. :( Pink pancakes, how do they work?

    What are you reading?

so currently I'm near the end of Jared Diamond's Guns, Germs and Steel. it's a fascinating read: I'm gobsmacked by the sheer amount of history from Africa, Asia and the Americans of which I know absolutely nothing. after that, I have a choice of Frank Herbert's Dune (considering that it's the...

    The "Fwee" thread II

Re: The "Fwee" Thread, Mk II one person today mentioned Shrove Tuesday, and another mentioned IWD in the context of "lol a wimminz day what about us guys HUH HUH where's our day HUH". fuck my school. :( edit: oh and we didn't even get any pancakes today.

    Your first kiss?

yeah um, still haven't had a first kiss. there's no chance of meeting any girls atm, the only openly gay/bi guys at my school are all fugly/annoying/assholish/out of my league, and the one guy I have a bit of a crush on almost certainly isn't gay and I sure as hell don't want to potentially...

    Dictatorships

Democratic revolution can be viable, but it helps if the government in question is already moving in that direction. Case in point, the collapse of Communism. When you have an oppressive regime that has no intention of reforming, then violence may well be the only option. From a Kantian...
