• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

    Abortion

That's just a number I pulled out of my butt, making sure it was freakishly small. The point was that a worse childhood doe not automatically make someone become a psychopath. But, anyway... How do you define bad citizens?

    Abortion

No, but they should have the common sense to realize that when they engage in sexual activity, there is a chance of pregnancy. Assuming the worst situations... if .005% of those in the orphanages grow up to be good, intelligent citizens, that's still significantly more than 0%.

    Abortion

Because they brought said physical and emotional trauma upon themselves, and shouldn't be allowed to simply handwave it away.

    Abortion

    Which rarely involve death.

    Abortion

You should really get an allergy test in the first place. :/ But I digress; that's irrelevant to this debate. Because being pregnant is CLEARLY comparable to death.

    Affirmative Action

Without affirmative action, there is an opening for discrimination. That is a problem. However, affirmative action doesn't close that opening. It filters it, and the things that would ordinarily get through that we don't want build up on the other side until it breaks.

    Affirmative Action

That's what breeds resentment. The law should be colorblind and genderblind.

You laugh you lose (aka POST ALL FUNNY STUFF HERE)

Re: You laugh you lose http://youtube.com/watch?v=zIllRdSzSug Oh... and Godwin's Law strikes again.

What would you call your hypothetical children?

One, Two, Three, Four... I'd be a terrible parent, I think. "What do you want to name him?" "He's the firstborn, so One." Luckily, I won't be a parent.

    Affirmative Action

Is it helping a minority get back on its feet or racism? Debate here. Personally, I think the goal is admirable, and it does function... to a degree. The problem is that it doesn't fix the underlying cause of the minority's troubles- in fact, it can even breed resentment among other groups. I...

    Abortion

The problem is that I seem to be the only one on my side that's even trying to debate.

    Abortion

I've no clue. Here's a thought: What if all the money spent on ineffective propaganda was spend on research into simulating the environment of the womb? If a pregnancy is unwanted, remove the zygote and transplant it into the artificial womb, effectively satisfying both sides.

Pokemon Titanium and Iron- They're baaack!

Diamond and Pearl-style region map. It's also NOT filled with outdated areas. ___________________________________ UPDATE Safari Zone with Area 3. Area 3 is a peaceful waterfront cliff, home to many Pokemon such as Chansey, Togepi, Chatot, Mentail, or Cibenfier. The building by the coast...

    Abortion

That's kind of a shoddy argument- all it means is that people say something one way. I wouldn't use the wording of a common phrase to argue any point. To anyone saying rape is the mother's fault: No, it isn't. Al you're accomplishing by saying that is making the other pro-life people here look...

    The Death Penalty

And if they would rather die, would you really be opposed to allowing them to die by another's hands if it meant they wouldn't have to suffer so long?

    Knowledge about the World

Figured out yourself- if you have the knowledge of a subject to find the answer, you have to have the knowledge to understand what it means.

    PMD2 Wondermail Experiments (spoilers!)

So, I was wishing I could go to The Nightmare again in PMD2. Accordingly, I tried to generate a New Dungeon Wondermail for it. Did it work? I've tried several other dungeons that aren't on the menu. The results are below: The Nightmare: Couldn't take job- however, I did get an otherwise...

    The Death Penalty

If they choose to die, then they will just do it in a less humane manner in prison. Suicides are messier and more painful because they don't have the proper supplies.
  19. Crazy Weavile

    The Death Penalty

...Why is that bad? The point of punishment is to reform them into an individual who will no longer commit such atrocities. If they choose to die, would that not accomplish the goal of eliminating the criminal, even if there's nothing to come out of the other end?

    Abortion

That's a rather poor analogy; by that logic, a mother should be allowed to shoot her child in the face, as it's not old enough to decide it doesn't want to be shot in the face. Obviously, that's certainly untrue, so clearly there's a fault in the analogy.
