• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

    Bleh.

Use them near the end of the battle, when you know what to expect from your opponent. It's best to use them when you predict your opponent to switch, essentially giving you a 'free' boost (for example, if the opponent has a Choice item and you send out something that is immune to the attack that...

D/P/Pt RMT: It's a Team without a single Uber (*gasp*)

Pokemon Online is pretty good, as is Shoddy Battle.

D/P/Pt RMT: It's a Team without a single Uber (*gasp*)

Is that supposed to be max Sp. Def on Azelf or is it supposed to be max Sp. Atk?

    HG/SS Hmm...

King's Rock is extremely unreliable. Expert Belt is okay - it could fool someone into thinking that you have Choice Band, since that's what most people use...If you're trying to find 'another' Expert Belt then you'd probably be better off finding another Life Orb instead as it provides the boost...

Choice Band? Weavile doesn't have access to many very powerful attacks so it appreciates the boost.

Leftovers for Cloyster unless you're playing with Item Clause. There's nothing else it can really use. Also: You should listen to this guy.

Relative strength of humans vs. Pokémon

Re: Relative strength of humans vs. Pokémon I think the phrase used was "kill or mortally wound a human in a single attack" which even I agree would be ridiculous. Still, it is unclear exactly how levels affect the Pokemon's strength - a Level 100 Eevee would deal massive damage with Bite if...

Yes. Koga's whole strategy seems to be 'annoying', and if his Crobat uses Double Team just a couple of times then you're screwed. I even had a Psychic-type. Problem is that Xatu doesn't learn Psychic until level FIFTY NINE. Not to mention the fact that Crobat's other weaknesses are Ice and Rock...

Relative strength of humans vs. Pokémon

Re: Relative strength of humans vs. Pokémon Maybe it only knows Hyper Beam? :sweatdrop: But still, we're talking about killing someone here. Let's not forget Lance is the champion of the Elite 4, who are the most powerful trainers in the region. Lance would be a celebrity icon. If a celebrity...

    HG/SS Hmm...

Hmm... Cloyster can't really take a Special hit even with the special defence boosting nature. Also, Icicle Spear probably isn't a good idea - even with Skill Link it only reaches 50 power, 75 after STAB. You'd be better off with Ice Shard for priority, Avalanche for power or just using Ice Beam...

    HG/SS Hmm...

Dark Pulse is generally a better option than Shadow Ball. It has the same coverage and power but has a chance to cause a flinch rather than a chance to lower Sp. Def. Also, nothing is immune to Dark-type. Dark Pulse TMs are much cheaper than Shadow Ball if you have HeartGold or SoulSilver, but...

    HG/SS Why?

A counter is defined by Smogon as something that can switch into a Pokemon without fearing its attacks and then defeat it easily. I would have thought Aero would be destroyed by Meteor Mash or Bullet Punch... I think Salamence was banned because it was so versatile. Specs sets destroy...

    Best and Worst Attack Animations

Unfortunately, making an animation of each and every sprite running towards the opponent and tackling them to the ground would require large amounts of disk space and time, and this would have to be done for every contact move, twice for every Pokemon (one for your Pokemon and one for the...

    The Internet is over?

"All these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that can't be good for you." I found this bit particularly humorous.

    Best and Worst Attack Animations

I agree - Gen III had some cool backgrounds for most attacks and Gen IV just seemed to take them away. I always thought that the backgrounds made the attacks look more supernatural, showing that it was Pokemon fighting, not just mere animals.

    Current Breeding Projects

It specifically has to be a shiny which does not have manipulated odds of being a shiny, although I think it's possible if you have 8 or so chained shinies (good luck with that).

How many Shiny Pokemon do you have?

I just caught a shiny Mr. Mime on my nuzlocke challenge of Diamond. That puts me into the "11 - 20" category.

    Black & White

I'm sort of wondering how Plus/Minus works in triple battles (and all the other doubles stuff like Helping Hand). Doesn't this make Follow Me incredibly broken? Also, am I the only one who still likes the gear Pokemon? It seems to be made of so much fail that it is win, because they pretty much...
