    the languages have different morphologies. French seems to be pretty fusional (or at least Latin definitely is) which means endings change and include a lot of information (gender, number, whatever) while English is less fusional and more analytical which means there are words like "to" and "of"...

    I don't know; I think it does contribute to meaning and understanding. But I guess I can see what you're saying. Of course, my only real experience with subjunctive tense is in Latin, where the change in how you conjugate the words is fairly drastic, but to me it just makes sense. Anywho.

    If you're not already treating animals like leaders - erm, persons - then you're probably lacking a fair bit of empathy, in my opinion. But who knows. We are often cruel creatures. That said, I really want dolphins to become even more intelligent so I can brag about having a dolphin friend.
