Well, long story short, I feel like on this forum it's become "cool" to be a jackass to everyone who isn't in your clique. Established members can do everything short of directly insult a member who doesn't meet their arbitrary standard of quality, and they can even do that frequently enough...- Negrek

I imagine because they were easy to create, they encouraged participation, and people love to feel like they're a part of something--even if it's something so small as a sprite army.
