    I think this might also have to do with why I don't identify as feminist. The word itself has a sort of a pro-woman, anti-man connotation (at least to me) and though I'm not anti-woman by any stretch of the imagination, I'm certainly not anti-man, either. None of the things above are...

    I guess it's sort of to do with the use of the word 'identify' here -- I wouldn't say I identify as feminist, personally. It's not something I'm really enthusiastic about. This might have something to do with bad experiences leading to a generally negative view of the online feminist community...

    If someone came up to me and asked hey, are you a feminist -- as the thread asks -- I would tell them no. I mean, obviously I'm all for gender equality, women's rights, etc etc etc. I'm just not outright feminist. And saying 'I don't see who ~wouldn't~ say yes' is kind of hurtful, fyi. ...
