During the past few months, lots of awesome stuff has been happening. :D I’ll start with the most recent. I found out that I got accepted to that boarding school I wanted to go to. I’ll probably be homesick for the couple weeks, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it. Not to mention I’ll have five other roommates. xD But it should be interesting to say the least. P=
The next awesome thing actually happened twice. The first time happened on Halloween night when my mum, my dad, and I were in Seattle. Only Dad and I went because we only bought two of the V.I.P tickets, but we got to see Nightwish in concert. =D It was just... awesome! The stage was Halloween themed, fake cobwebs and a few plastic pumpkins. I was right in front just a few feet away from one of the guitarists (Emppu). He was throwing out guitar picks and I managed to get one of them and gave it to my sister on Christmas because she didn’t get to go to the concert. They played a whole bunch of songs including Wishmaster and Dark Chest of Wonders. <3
The second time was in May. I had found out that they were going to be in Vancouver B.C. for a concert, but this time my mum, my sister, and I went. Nightwish was awesome, but the crowd was rather pushy and everyone sang along so you couldn’t really hear Anette sing. >-< All in all, I think the concert at Seattle was better.
And lastly, this year my previous school (seeing as I’m going to boarding school next year) had this really neat class, which we did the last hour of the school day. The Middle School kids, two High School students, and one Elementary boy were in the class. So there were only 6 of us in total, and I was the only girl. xD
We practiced Archery for a few weeks until there was a state-wide competition. The highest score you could get was 300 points, and we would shoot 15 arrows at 10 meters and 15 arrows at 15 meters. It was pretty challenging too. Dx We would calculate the total scores and send them in by e-mail.
Anyway, a few weeks later the results come back. This was it, this was to decide if we were going to Nationals or not. We look at the scores, and I just about jump in utter glee. In the Middle School Girls Division, I had won. I was the top female archer for Middle School. :D Not only was a qualified to go to Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky but I also won a bow just for me.
Turns out that everyone in our class qualified to go to Nationals. Unfortunately, Elementary kids were not allowed to go because they were too young to travel or something like that. So we practice a ton and we raise up money for us to go. It was so much fun. And when we were traveling and stuff everyone was like, “Oh my god, you’re from Alaska?! That is so awesome. :D”
We weren’t the only Alaska people that went, we met up with a few more people who were from different schools in our district. Our flights were different, so we split into groups. The plane rides were insane, we had tons of fun just talking. But, we weren’t used to the time difference so we were -tired- when we got to Louisville. Not to mention our flights were all-nighters and my friend made me stay up all freaking night. o.o
We went around to different schools telling them what life in Alaska was like and it was amusing because everyone asked us if we had Xbox or PlayStations. xD We also met up with one of the High Schools there and got to ride on the long bus. It was only cool because we ride the short bus where I live. xD And we also went to Six Flags and I went on my first rollercoaster~! <33 It was so much fun.
Anyway, in the competition I scored 230 points, and everyone else scored 280 or 290 points. xD
The only bad thing about the trip is that on our way back to Alaska, we got stuck in Chicago for two days.
