Today is my birthday, woohoo.
Also, I had a swim meet this morning and we broke the "consideration" time for state meet qualifications. This is how it works:
There's two times for each event, one labeled "automatic" and the second, slower one labeled "consideration." If the automatic time is broken, you are promised a spot at the state meet. When you break the consideration time, you go on a list with your time. When all of the people get the automatic times, they pull the number of spots that the meet has left, if any, from the list of considered people/teams.
So the 4x50 free relay and 4x100 free relay broke consideration times. Also, I'm three seconds from breaking the 200 yard IM consideration time, and four seconds from doing the same in the 100 yard breaststroke.
Our team has broken some of the consideration times--even two of the automatic times. So the fastest person on the team has broken the automatic times in 100yd backstroke and 100yd butterfly. We've gotten two more guys to break the consideration time in 50 yards freestyle, and a girl to get considered in the 100yd breaststroke.
And, on a good note, we've got a person a third of a second from breaking 100yd backstroke consideration, and another three and a half seconds from 50yd free consideration.
I really want to swim at state.
