Hello, my name is Ketsu and I have been playing The Sims almost as long as I've been playing Pokémon. I have every game of the Sims 1, The Sims 2 and all its expansion packs (and Teen Stuck Pack, but that was a gift. I am not too found of Stuff Packs), and The Sims 3 and two of its expansion packs (I have Ambitions and Late Night).
There's a lot of things that I must cover before we move on, however, so beware tl;dr.
The Sims is, as you probably already know, an extremely long-running franchise about a life simulator. While this sounds as fun as watching paint dry, the games have a sense of humor and creativity that keeps people coming, even after Maxis was completely taking over by EA.
The Sims 3 is the newest version, with a connected neighborhood and time passing for all Sims. No loading is a load of hogwash though, as you still need to wait for buildings to render. Even if your Sim went no farther than five feet from it.
The Legacy Challenge is the most well-know challenge in the fandom. This is because it is a very basic challenge and needs nothing but the vanilla base game to run. It was first developed soon after The Sims 2 came out, taking advantage of the new aging feature. As expansion packs came, new rules followed. The official site has not updated since Bon Voyage came out, but fans adapted rules none the less. The challenge is so popular that there's even a version developed for The Sims 1!
The challenge is simple: Raise 10 generations of Sims, staring with the largest plot of land, keeping the family name, getting as rich as you can, without any cheats or hacks what so ever. You can only use cheats and hacks if your game bugs or it will either not help you or hinder you.
While I will have twallan's Story Progression, Master Computer, Overwatch, and Careers on, this is to save me frustration with EA's Story Progression, some more fun, being able to control said Story Progression's settings, de-glitching, and adding more jobs and schools.
I will be using a more interactive version of the Legacy Challenge that can be found here: http://randomlegacychallenge.blogspot.com/
And that's where you all come in. Instead of rolling for my restrictions, you all are going to vote on it.
There are other things that need to be worked out too, but will get to that once I know how many Sims I need.
And that will be an even larger post, due to the fact there isn't some nice list of traits and what they do I can link you to.
