Where have I been at?
Chapter One

"Terron, Help us," a cold ice-like voice echoed in the back of Joshua's mind. The black-haired youth opened his eyes and found himself trudging though what he thought was the Glastron Mountains. There was snow covering everything and Josh could see the mountains off in a distance. Yet, despite all the snow, Josh didn't feel cold.

"Who goes there?" asked Josh, a hint of fear in his voice. As if in answer, a huge dragon descended down from the sky and snarled at Josh. The dragon was large and was covered in light blue scales. Icy wings were folded on his back. Josh suddenly recognized the dragon. He was gazing upon Drizleon, the dragon of ice and guardian of the Artic.

“Hmm, I see you have found my pet,” came another voice, this one coming from Drizleon’s back. Drizleon unfolded his wings and a figure draped in black came down from the dragon and landed on the snow. From the voice, Jacen knew it was a male. The cloaked figure patted Drizleon’s shoulder. “Drizleon, if you would, please dispose of this trespasser for me.”

The dragon snarled once more and stomped down on the snow. Josh was literally scared out of his mind as the dragon lunged at him at full speed. Josh braced for impact when suddenly-

Beep! Beep!! BEEEEEEEEP!!! The sound of the alarm clock forced the dream to fade instantly and force him into reality. Josh stood up and looked around. He was certainly back in his home for sure, back in Isen Town far from the Glastron Mountains.

“What a weird dream.” Josh told himself as he got out of bed. At the sound of his voice, his pet Houndour, Amber, came out of the bathroom and trotted over to Josh. “Ah, Amber, good morning.”

Amber yapped in excitement as her trainer walked over to the closet to select the clothes for the day. He chose an outfit recently given to him. It included a black pair of pants, a white tee-shirt, and a black and yellow jacket. The jacket had yellow on the shoulders and black everywhere else save for the image of a Pokeball on the back.

His Houndour decided to play with her toys as Josh went to change. He came back about five minutes later and flashed a smile when Amber got back up and together the two headed downstairs, where his mother, Saphina, and his father, Lance, was eating breakfast already. Josh took a seat next to his father as he began eating the plate of pancakes prepared for him. Amber trotted over to eat her Pokémon Food prepared for her.

“Good Morning, mom,” said Josh. “and you too, dad. I see you are here today. How is it going at the League Masters?”

“Not bad, Josh,” said Lance. “It certainly is a fine morning. The League Masters assigned me a day off. I can’t miss my son’s birthday and the day he starts on his journey.”

“That’s true,” said Josh. “I am certain Amber and I shall make it to the League Masters for certain.”

“You are starting with Amber?” asked Saphina. Amber perked up at her name mentioned and yapped an agreement before heading back to eating.

“Well, it makes sense,” said Lance. “You and Amber have been together since she was a pup. The two of you shall make a great team.”

“Thanks,” said Josh, flashing a smile. “Oh, and by the way, how is James doing?”

“I heard your brother just beat Strike’s electric gym,” said Lance. “I am guessing he is going to take on Rogueport next and battle the mysterious ‘Masked Warrior.’”

Josh chuckled. “Yeah, I wish him luck beating that leader. I heard he is not only tough, but very elusive. Nobody even knows his name.” Suddenly, the mention of the masked warrior brought him back to the dream he had last night and he mentally shivered. The rest of the meal continued in silence. Josh finished his pancakes and placed his plate in the sink. Amber too looked up and trudged over to her trainer..

“Well it is now time for me to head to the Registry Center,” announced Jacen. Amber yapped excitedly as she trotted to the door, eager to leave. Saphina got up and ran over to hug Jacen.

“Well, I shall certainly miss you, Josh,” said Saphina. “Good Luck to you on your journey.”

“Okay, I shall. Mom,” said Josh, breaking away from the hug and walking to the door. Lance then stood up.

“Hold on, Josh, I am coming with you,” said Lance. He put on a emerald-green jacket and went over to the door as well. Amber seemed more eager to get outside and began yapping more and more.

“Farewell, you two,” said Saphina. “and Josh keep in contact with me, please.”

“I shall do so, Mom.” Josh replied, opening the door and stepping outside with Lance and Amber following behind. “Goodbye, mom.” With those final words, Josh closed the door and stepped outside with the other two.

Outside, it was a warm, spring morning. The sun was shining brghtly and Josh could see the trees surrounding the path seem to glisten with sunlight. There was still some dew on the ground, though, but it was still a great morning.

"Ahh, perfect day, isn't it, son," said Lance, taking in a deep breath. Amber seemed to be in agreement as the pup went to sniff the grass and prance around joyfully.

"Indeed it is," replied the boy. Without hesitation, Josh took off down the path to Isen Town. Amber caught up with him and Lance trailed from behind, trying to keep up.

Eventually, the three of them reached their destination. Isen Town soon showed up near the edge of the path. It was a small town built from a clearing and had a large grassy plain surrounding it. Near the center of town stood their target destination, though, The Isen Town Pokemon League Registration Center. The Center was a white building that stood out among the wooden houses that made up the rest of the town.

Well, if it isn't Joshua Terron," Josh looked up to see a familiar face approach the group. It was a youth a bit taller than Josh who wore a blue jacket and black pants. He had short brown hair and a gold headband tied around his head.

"Oh hey Malix," said Josh, looking at his childhood rival. Malix smirked when he looked at Amber. "Oh, and I see you brought your little pet Houndour. Please don't tell me she's going to be your starter Pokemon."

"Yes, Amber is my Starter," said Josh with pride. "and she's going to become the greatest Houndoom ever. Perhaps even a Houndox."

Malix chuckled softly. "You don't say. Well, if your so confident you can beat me, how about me and you have a battle right now? Daddy can be the ref. Your Amber aganst my Rogon."

" Well, I guess, but I need to be registered first," Josh replied with a grin. "Lets meet at Kinleaf's Battle Garden. It should be a much better location for battles anyway."

"Well, if you say so," said Malix, shrugging and then turning away from the group. "Kinleaf Battle Garden it shall be. I am going to be there anyway as I need to collect the Solar Badge from the gym leader there anyways. Well, later."

Malix then went back down the path to Isen City and Josh followed after him. Amber groaned as she trotted beside him. "Don't worry, Amber. I know we can beat his little ninja, can't we?" Amber growled an affirmitive.

"So, you are that confident," Lance then replied. "Remember Rogon are born fighters and fighting usually beats dark-type Pokemon."

"Thats not a problem at all," Josh shot back as they continued walking down to Isen Town. " After all, Amber is also a fire-type."

Eventually, the group arrived at the doorsteps of the Registration Center. Lance went in first and then Josh and Amber followed afterwards.

Chapter Two:

"We are here to register for the League," said Josh, walking up to a red-haired man who sat behind a desk at the far-end of the Lounge area. The red-haired man looked up from some work to acknowledge Josh.

"Well, then, you must be a new trainer," said the man. "I am Professor Malvron, the professor of this town. You say you are here to register. Thats great. What is your name?"

"Joshua Terron," said the young boy. "The son of League Master Lance Terron." Malvron then saw Lance who sat down on a red chair in the lounge area.

"Hey, Lance," said Malvron before returning his attention to Josh. "Hmm, you got promise, I must say. You already have a Starter?"

Amber yapped as she trotted over to the counter. She was sitting next to Lance previously.

"Yep, this is Amber, my Houndour." Malvron chuckled at the mention of the nickname.

"Thats a good nickname you gave her," commented Malvron. "I still remember the name I gave my Torchic long ago. Blaze, and that was certainly what he was, a Blaze. This should be quick then. I just need to print out a Trainer Card and you shall be on your way to taking on the League. You might just be as good as your father. Become a League Master even."

"Thanks, so shall we hurry this up then," said Josh. Malvron nodded and began typing something on the computer on the desk. He stopped typing and then reached under the desk to pull out a gold card which he placed on the desk in front of Josh.

"Here it is, your Trainer Card signifying that you are an official Pokemon Trainer," said Malvron. "Never lose this card no matter what. It has your information on the front and on the back will be where each gym badge you collect will be printed. You must have this card if you are to participate in gym battles and trainer battles. Collect seven badges and you will be able to enter Victorian City and challenge the League Masters to a battle, which means you might even fight your dad in Victorian City."

"Awesome," said Josh, collecting the card and looking at it. Sure enough, on the front of the card was a picture of him followed by information about him including hometown, starter, ect. He flipped it over and saw that the back was blank being he doesn't have a badge yet. "Thanks, professor." With that, he slid the gold card inside one of the folds in his jacket.

"Okay, now for the second half of getting you ready," said Malvron. "You need to catch other Pokemon in order to have a well-balanced team. In order to do that-" Malvron reached under the desk and pulled out a red-and-white ball that had a black circle around it with a white button. The top of the ball had red and the bottom was painted white. "you will need this device, called the Pokeball."

Josh picked up the ball and studied it. It was very small, but as soon as he touched it, it grew into the size of his palm. He had seen a Pokeball plenty of times, but this was the first time ever holding one.

"The Pokeball is a high tech device that holds a single Pokemon," explained the professor. "This one is empty which means you need to catch a Pokemon with it. How about trying it on Amber?"

"Umm, okay, so how do you catch a Pokemon using this ball," asked Josh, looking a bit puzzled.

"Simply press that white button and throw it at the Pokemon that you are trying to catch," Malvron explained. "If you wish to catch Amber, then throw it at Amber."

"Okay, so, you ready Amber?" Josh said looking at Amber, who looked very excited and began prancing around the lab. Josh chuckled and pressed the white button. Amber pranced around some more as Josh launched it at her.

The ball hit Amber right in her forehead and opened up halfway above her. Amber turned red and began fading away into the ball as it closed down and landed on the ground. The center white button then began blinking red. After a few seconds, the blinking stopped and the ball shrunk into its previous form.

"Great job, you have just caught Amber," repled Malvron, amazed by his work. "That now means that you and Amber are officially bonded and now its your duty to train her."

"Awesome," said Josh. He reached down and picked up the Pokeball. This time, it didn't grow palm-sized. "Now, how do I release her again?"

"Press the white button and aim it at the ground where you wish to release her," said Malvron. Josh nodded and pressed down on the button again. The ball grew palm-sized and Josh pointed it at the ground. The ball then shot out a white beam that hit the ground and began forming the shape of a Pokemon. The white beam tehn faded and Amber was standing at the spot as she was. She pawed the ground and then looked up at Josh with some newfound understanding in her eyes.

"This is awesome," said Josh. "Amber, me and you shall now be able to take on the League." Amber yapped and began trotting over to Josh, who knelt down and patted his Houndour.

"Now, you are ready to go," said Malvron. Josh got up as Malvron extended his hand. "Have a great journey, my young lad as you, Amber, and all the other Pokemon you may catch or meet, grow up along the journey."

"Thank you, professor," said Josh, giving a small smile and turning around. Lance then got up and went over to Josh.

"Well, son, ths is where we must part," said Lance. "One day, when you reach Victtorian City, we shall perhaps have a splendid battle. May great fortune rule over you as you make your father proud."

"You too, dad," said Josh, smiling and then heading to the exit of the Center. "Now, good bye you two. Come on, Amber. Lets get to Kinleaf now." Amber yapped as she followed Josh out of the center and on the road to the League Masters in Victorian City.
