Among the few morons with straight A's.
Well, I'm not too good at poetry, but these are two poems based on some lyrics I've written, and I figured I should post them. Go crazy with criticism, because I really need it right now. (Trust me, writing a story is way easier to me than writing poems. Don't know why, it just is.)
What If?
What if you were walking along the street one day?
What if you saw a little kid crying?
What if you asked what was wrong?
What if he said their pet dog died?
What if you said, "Don't worry"?
What if you said, "He's in a better place now"?
What if he smiled at you?
What if I,
What if you,
What if he,
What if she,
What if they,
What if we,
Had the power to change everything?
What if we created life?
What if we controlled the world?
What if you and I met one day?
What if we laughed?
What if we looked into each other's eyes?
What if we saw something new?
What if we fell in love?
What if we never met?
What if we were never born?
What if?
That's what I ask.
Don't Cry
I remember when we were kids,
You and I were together so much,
But then one day I didn't feel well,
And I had to go to the hospital.
I remember seeing your face,
And all of the tears you shed.
I realized not much time was left,
So we spent every minute together.
And when I died,
You only cried.
Which is why I have to tell you...
Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry,
I'm gonna be fine.
I feel like I can fly.
Now that I'm finally free,
In eternity,
With nothing holding me back.
But when I see how you look sad,
Tears would just swell in my eyes,
Because it makes me feel so bad.
I had to let go of life,
Almost everything I had is gone.
But I feel so much better now,
Because in eternity,
I am finally free.
So can't you let go?
I know it's hard to let go,
We were so close we felt like sisters,
And seeing your pain is worse than death.
Life is something that is precious,
But I never understood until after it ended.
It was just my time,
So just move on and continue,
If not for me,
Do it for yourself.
That is my last wish.
So please, don't cry.
Just don't cry.
