    Alright, right about the time he's taunting you with the scary face, hit him with a Mud Slap. That should make him think twice about continuing with that. Then use a Defense Curl to counteract the incoming tail whip, and then finish off with a Lava Plume. Mud Slap ~Defense Curl ~ Lava Plume
