    Probably not too dramatically, but it's neat to have for a dash of realism. Because what's ASB without realism amiright

    Also I'm bored of trying to think of new things to add to that challenge so I'm just gonna have it be a plain old battle on a train. Anything to add before I post it?

    As I understand it, yes. It's separate to actual stat modifications, so that's how it'd play out in practice, anyway.

    There's a thing about it here if you want to read a more precise explanation by someone coherent.

    Basically you grant a bonus to the highest stats and nerf the lowest stats, such that the sum of all modifications is 0. So like a Machop might have +1 to attack because its attacks stat is high compared to all the others, but its special attack is low so you knock a point off that to compensate.

    That's the idea in a nutshell anyway. It doesn't matter whether you have a Sunkern or a Metagross, nothing winds up stronger than anything else, just better at different things.

    I've been meaning to start using base stats in my reffings, actually. I kinda wish I'd decided to before I started you vs Noctowl, because stats changing every round as well would have added another pretty interesting dimension.

    I don't remember B/W well enough to remember whether the Battle Subway had any special effects or whether it was just a generic battle facility. I think the latter.

    Maybe we should battle on a train! Like, that battle subway or something? I dunno, with all this talk of trains that's just the first thing that came to me.

    Whether there'd be a gimmick to it or just "it's a normal battle, but on a train", I dunno, but.
