I played it but I got a bit stuck. I could never fully get in the swing of things; my old phone was never able to handle it well, so I always gave up playing it

Not particularly! I didn't play gen I until much later; I picked up the name when I was playing FR/LG

Big fan of Mudkip and letting Marshtomp one-shot Wattson, though I try to spread around exp evenly if I can help it

You should see it! Its a really fun movie, and even gets pretty emotional at parts ;) especially towards the end xD I think you'd enjoy seeing it.
