• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

1.5hr writing and I have 889 words of a novel I haven't really got anything concrete planned for in the way of actual scenes or chapters. Or, even, names for the characters. UM

That's fair! Our school is really biased towards non-ecological/zoological areas of biology (which is something I hadn't noticed until this year) so that's possibly coloured my choices. Still, I am going on a tropical ecology field course in Kenya next week so at least I'm not entirely locked...

Which bits are you interested in, anyway? I think I may be biased towards the genetics/molecular area just because of how Cardiff's School of Biosciences works at the moment. There's a strong focus on genetics/molecular/cell biology here at the moment and those modules tend to have the better...

In September I'll be heading back for the third year of my biology degree. It's pretty awesome, biology. So far I've done more to specialise in genetics/genomics/that kind of area than in any of the others; next year I hope to further specialise and study developmental genetics/biology. Fun times.

For about five weeks, just under! It should be a really great trip even if I'm not particularly interested in lizards or tropical ecology! I figured a trip to Kenya was a brilliant idea!

my exams happened I guess, there isn't much I can say about them really! I suppose I might have passed everything? I hope so! I'm just ridiculously happy there are no more exams for a year... and in a fortnight I go to Kenya to do a field course in tropical ecology!

    War on Drugs

I think I'd have to go with yes. A similar set up to our alcohol and tobacco laws would work quite well, I think. We'd get exactly the same kinds of problems as we get now with cigarettes and alcohol, though, probably. I think it'd be pretty fair to say you need to be 18+ to buy drugs...

Again, sorry! I think you may have the right person but I'm just being really forgetful! I've not really been involved in Pokémon fandom for a while so I've forgotten about lots of the places I used to hang out!

I'm sorry, I have absolutely no idea what you mean! The only thing I can think of is "PokéCommunity" but I don't know if that's a real thing or if I made it up, but if it is then I haven't been there in years! Sorry for not being very helpful :(

    War on Drugs

Yes. Exactly this. Taking the control out of the hands of gangs and criminals will solve a lot of drug-related crimes, with the added bonus of providing tax revenue and making the use and production of drugs safer for everyone involved. The war on drugs is pretty much lost by this point, and...

    POSITIVE BODY FEATURES THREAD

Re: POSITIVE BODY FEATURES THREAD II I'm pretty fond of my legs. My boyfriend insists that they're amazing, especially for someone who does no exercise, and even if they're not objectively the best I like them just because he enjoys them so much. I have pretty good teeth, too.

    NaNoWriMo

Look at it this way: If you write 5000 words a month (let's say a month is 30 days) you're writing 167 words a day. If I do NaNoWriMo I write 1667 words a day. I'm getting a lot more practise writing and getting my thoughts and images down on the screen than you are, at least during that month...

God discovered life and He did it 6000 years ago yeah the opposition to GM is basically madness imo. We have problems feeding ourselves already and we also have the tools available to ameliorate those problems and yet ... and yet. also the whole "lol lets not give enhanced rice to African...
