• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

    How do you eat pizza?

First I pull off any excess cheese and wipe off any excess sauce, then I start from the tip. As head towards the crust, I try to keep the thickness (from crust to where I've eaten to) as even as possible along the length of the slice. As I go I'll pick off any additional excess...

Phantom vs. Newton (ref: Squornshellous Beta)

Okay, Niobium! Start out with Yawn to put him to sleep, then follow it up with Shadow Claw. Assuming he's asleep by then, use Dream Eater. If for some reason he isn't then another Shadow Claw is in order. Also, I'd like to add a mountain at space A12. No train controls for now. Yawn ~ Shadow...

    SCHOOOOOL

So I refuse to go to prom, and all the prom committee kids keep trying to get me to go. So today one of them decided she'd show up at my house the day of prom with a dress and kidnap me, and then decided that I should go with one of our classmates (a guy) and we should both wear the same dress...

This was a while ago, but nonetheless: Sometime during math class, we notice something written in the upper corner of the board: "Our plan: pink tartans, elk horns, blood (fake)" (I guess this was their plan for the skit competition). This conversation ensues (slightly paraphrased): Student...

    Masculism

I think the issue here is that, whether or not they "should" be considered feminists, they still are by many people. Hence we have misconceptions about what feminism actually means, at which point feminism does, in fact if not in definition, cover that previously stated wide range of views.

    Masculism

I don't think "tempering" is the word you want there. To me that suggests that you think the feminist movement needs to be curbed, which wouldn't really make sense. If that is what you meant, then yeah you're really not making a good case for yourself here. Masculism can be a complementary...

    The "Fwee" thread II

Re: The "Fwee" Thread, Mk II 36 on the ACT. Yeah. 36. PERFECT SCORE. (Well not quite I got a couple wrong but still 36 is the highest score you can get).

    Masculism

So then it was obviously a gender issue... not a class issue.

    Masculism

Ah. Well, close enough. Though, I'm curious now... could these women who owned land vote?

    Masculism

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that only men could own land. Sounds pretty damn sexist to me.

    Masculism

Personally I just don't like the term. Nor, for that matter, do I particularly like the term "feminist". Both seem to imply a desire for superiority of a certain gender. I'm all for gender equality, but that's what it should be called. If it's labeled by a specific gender, the (equally valid)...

    The "Fwee" thread II

Re: The "Fwee" Thread, Mk II So I've been working on this conworld and I'm starting to create the language of its main inhabitants and it's really awesome and fun and yeah! I sense a new hobby for me! (Not that I have time for new hobbies, but regardless).

Should society encourage collaboration or competition?

Specifically, should schools encourage students to collaborate with each other and work together to solve problems, or compete with each other and try to be the best at the expense of others? Which mindset is more useful in society? Discuss. I don't really have a specific opinion on the...

    Opinions on Clowns

I'm kinda indifferent to clowns. When I was like 8 I was picked from a circus audience to be the clown's assistant. I think they were expecting whoever they picked to fail miserably. But I didn't. It was fun.

    The "Fwee" thread II

Re: The "Fwee" Thread, Mk II Got my grades today and I got A's in 5 out of 6 classes, which is awesome cause after finals I was really worried about a couple classes. The one non-A was in English, which I already knew I wouldn't get an A in. But! I was down to a B- at the end of the first...
