• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

It's a classic concept, I'm excited to see what more your comic has in store.

i have like less than a week left of being a teenager

Haha I'm 27 and I wish I had done something like that when I was turning 20! That was what, 2015? I was a year into university... I guess that's how I sort my life, really, "year x of gymnazium/university" really helps me ground my memories. I have scant diary entries around that time...

    Wordle

I do have to say it's pretty genius and it reminds me of 2048 in its simplicity and appeal. It's also the prime target of portability and I seriously want to make a version for some obscure PDA. Still, the first time I played I didn't figure the word out and it soured me on the game so I...

    Hi?

Hey welcome! I'm also in the boat of having been a long time fan of TCOD. Back then the internet was way smaller so a fansite this good was bound to be visited by most of us at some point! I'm hoping some more active threads will show up on the board and we get to socialize a bit, as I get...

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl

The Japanese ads for BDSP directly reference the Elite 4 door surfing glitch in the original games: It's interesting to me that Nintendo acknowledges the cultural value of glitches in Pokémon games like this. As for me, I'm probably not going to play the games, but might sit through a...

    The Fansite Update Hub! ★✪☆

Your site is so cute, Bluwiikoon! I personally like the Nose style a lot, although the dark one is also pretty cool! I've made a lot of websites over the years, maybe one day I'll make one that'd qualify as a bona fide fansite. It's not like I have a lack of ideas...

Would you be into Pokémon if it came out today?

Good question. Obviously it's nontrivial to think about "alternative history" like this, because there are many factors, but I imagine not. Possibly the main reason being I don't watch anime (and that's how I was introduced to Pokémon as a kid), and I rarely play new games these days. But...

    Find Your Way [oneshot]

I have enjoyed reading this! Your descriptions of the environment left an impression on me and I especially appreciated the distinctive look into Steven's thinking processes. I'd have never thought I'd be enabled to imagine myself in the cave that I know so well, yet can never be physically in.

What is your favourite middle stage Water starter?

Croconaw here for sure, helped by the fact that the sole fan fiction I've written starred one!

What is your favourite final stage Water Starter?

Gotta give it to Swampert for sentimental reasons. Samurott is also really cool though. And Feraligatr is cute in plushie form.

Congrats! I actually only have one more myself! ...and a thesis. I gotta write my thesis.

What are you currently feeling nostalgic about?

Forums are an easy one. Social media's just not the same, and sometimes it feels like we've all collectively lost the ability to write not even long, but medium form text really. I have to say though, now you got me thinking. Although I feel wistful for many things from my past, I'm hard...

    The Café of Doom

Re: The Café of Doom Honestly the o can be considered a part of the Czech name. "Czechoslovakia" is "Československo" in both Czech and Slovak, and Czechia itself is "Česko". So the "o" went to the Czech Republic. Mystery solved. A better question is where did the dash in Czecho-Slovakia go...

    Sanky's R/B sprites!

28x28 and not a pixel more. But the backsprites are shown doubled on the screen, so they appear larger. For fun and authenticity, I chose not to expand the dimensions in my randomizer, among other limitations.

    Sanky's R/B sprites!

The Ho-oh was actually just half-serious: I claimed that I really dislike the Ho-oh backsprites that only show its head: So I went ahead and attempted making one that shows the whole body, a-la B/W: ...In 28x28. Whether I succeeded or not is up to you.

    Hi hi!

Yep! I did all those things. :D It's cool that somebody here knows about them! I was meaning to make a successor to the stats for this year's Twitch Plays Pokémon, but I lacked the motivation... Oh well. Thanks!

The QUILTBAG Club (formerly the LGBT club)

Ah, just the latter. (I'm biologically male, so that isn't a problem). And.. Oof, I really don't wanna straight up tell anybody. It's hard. But still, it might go wonderfully. I'll have to think about it more. Oh, by the way, I read back into the thread a small bit. So many success...

The QUILTBAG Club (formerly the LGBT club)

So, I'm going to post in here because it might brighten me up a bit. Hi! For context, I'm generally male, and I happen to be bisexual (or pansexual if you will, I generally use the simpler term). It's something I've only ever mentioned in a few places on the internet. And I'm in this...
