• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Because I was at a con for the first three days of November, I had to play hella catchup. 4k words yesterday and the day before, and I'm back on-track for word goals and back to writing 1,667 words a day. When in doubt, I just break out Write or Die, kamikaze mode, no grace period. Because I...

Apparently I only come back to the TCoD forums for Nano. I'm starting a new fic project (Digimon, as usual) and using NaNoWriMo as my kick-start to get my butt in gear and pre-write a bunch of it so I can keep up an update schedule consistent even when I uproot and move a thousand miles at the...

I just finished writing 50,000 words of my stupid Digimon fanfiction. No cheap filler tricks, no describing things that didn't need to be described-- 50,000 words of pure work that will be postable after a few once-overs. I'm going to go sob for joy now.

I'm behind, but I can easily pump out enough words in the next two days. I've got this. I'm gonna be okay. And hell, even if I don't win, I still made some serious, major headway on this stupid project. That's gotta count for something. but i still want to win

I need to write five thousand words today to catch up. Will I be able to do it? Yes, probably. Will it be fueled by sweat, caffeine, and tears? Ohhh yeah. Am I glad that I won't have to publish this chapter until after NaNo is over, so I can go back and edit it proper? You bet your sweet bippy.

I finished my quota for today... last night. Oops. Oh well, getting ahead is faboo-- and writing fight scenes is a great way to boost up a word count. (After all, why say a character was knocked back when you can say he was sent skidding backwards from the force of the blow, digging his claws...

I've actually been slightly above-par for two days. I've also noticed that I tend to write far more quickly once I reach par, which is incredibly annoying, but I suppose makes sense (since the pressure is off, and all that). Haven't hit the Week Two Blues yet-- I'm wary that it will happen any...

I need to crank out 2500 words today to catch up to par; I will do it if it kills me. Have tried to pick up the habit of powering through even when I have no idea what I'm doing, because eventually I'll find something that makes sense and then I can go back and edit the chapter to make it more...

More than once I've accidentally referred to a Digimon character as a Pokemon. It's gotten to the point where, when I finish a day's writing, I'll quickly do a Search and Replace for the word "pokemon", just in case.

I'm a full 18 words ahead of par. I don't freaking care this is the first time I've been above quota this NaNo and I'm going to sleep now.

I'm about 3000 words behind, blargh! I need to catch up on most of yesterday and then do today. If I can catch up on yesterday before class, I'm going to a write-in on my campus after class-- hopefully it'll help me crank it out.

Write or Die Kamikaze Mode is a godsend. Cranked out 1800 words in the space of 45 minutes-- despite NaNoWriMo "logic" it brought up my total several hundred more when I went back and edited (and added a lot to help smooth a scene transition). Will do another session of it later tonight/today to...

Quick synopsis: "DIGIMON SO MUCH DIGIMON" Less quick synopsis: without going to copy-paste my "official" summary: basically my story attempts to emulate, in text format, a full season of Digimon, right down to the relative child-friendliness (do any of you have any idea how hard it is to stay...

you are all giving fantastic feedback and let me love you and I will try to work on the design stuff But I'm posting to add another quick doodled-up drawing I did today, after listening to the original!Japanese!Meowth's song and being embarassingly affected by it. Was a ~15 minute effort, so...

you are both entirely too nice In regards to some of their being a bit digimon-y: yeahh-- I've spent over a year on designing Digimon and all of five days on designing Pokemon, so I do see their bit of overcomplication, myself. It's a really hard habit to break. But, that's all just a lot of...

Yep. So... I obviously fancy myself quite the interdisciplinary nerd. I write (mostly my crappy, overly long digimon fic)! I draw (poorly)! I do it all. I'll attempt to post (mostly) my Pokemon-related art, in the interest of knowing I won't bore you all to death, but if I'm particularly proud...

Only around 2000 at the end of the second day (because my sleep schedule is weird), myself-- woefully behind. Not yet to the point where I'm considering bribing myself with candy bars, but Write or Die Kamikaze Mode is starting to look attractive.

Nothing says you have to write in chronological order! Sometimes I find it's best to write something that happens later and then build up to it-- though when I do it, by that time I usually end up re-writing it because of things that happened in the interim...
