• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Harlequin, the plot of the entire Final Fantasy series is incredibly formulaic. :/ this should never be a surprise

Huh. I was pretty sure there're PS2-only servers and 360-only servers and probably PC-only ones! You're still almost certainly better off upgrading the laptop's graphics card than trying to get the PS2 stuff set up. :/

Isn't PS2 FFXI on different servers than the others and about a hundred dollars more expensive than the rest? you'd likely be better off getting a new graphics card if you were going to try for PS2 FFXI

Probably, yeah. It's just that Nintendo is too in love with their idea of friend codes to allow any MMORPGs on it.

Everything non-Wii, you mean. Nintendo doesn't want a thing to do with ditching friend codes.

I liked Edward: he was just also useless. Final Fantasy XII makes a big deal about being real-time, but really it's still mostly just the standard ATB-type thing except you're able to decide for yourself if you want to try to dodge. It's also easier to run away given that you're no longer at...

maybe they were too busy working on Fran's butt to pay attention to Vaan's abs

I liked that Penelo, unlike Vaan, actually tried to make herself useful and not irritate everyone else. Vaan is completely tactless :[ (re: Eruyt Village where he's like HEY FRAN HEY HOW OLD ARE YOU ANYWAY)

I hated Vaan for most of the game. I started liking him a bit after meeting the Garif and he was actually fairly decent around Sochen Cave Palace, but I wanted to slap him so much before that. "I'M CAPTAIN BASCH FON RONSENBERG OF DALMASCA!"

Clearly the answer is a crossover with FFXII with Fran/Shara. THE ONLY THING I FOUND EVER I DIDN'T SAY IT WAS GOOD

dooon't feel like quoting things but I had some difficulty in III, mainly because various bosses had way too much HP. I think my main issue with needing item duplication was that it was altogether too difficult to find phoenix downs, but I dunno. It's been over a year since I played it...

Nah, Pokemon doesn't pretend to actually be something new, plot-wise, each game. Final Fantasy does. because sephiroth is shirtless in the final battle

V at least doesn't try to take itself seriously, but the whole series is pretty ridiculous and FFX in particular focuses a lot on trying to be serious business. Shoot 'm. If they get up again, then SHOOT THEM AGAIN. ... buh? I didn't have any difficulty with it, although I only got up to...

I own and have played I-VII and IX-XII, plus XIIRW, TA, TA2, CC, and VIIDoC. Go go incomprehensible acronyms...? FFIII kinda sucks :| the series on the whole is pretty good. formulaic and predictable, as well as v corny, but it's fun at least. pity about the fandom.
