With Ymir withdrawn, the pokémon wait to see who their next opponent will be, some no doubt silently wishing for someone who won't be bringing the gift of earthquakes every round. After a few seconds' consideration, Kung Fu Ferret plucks a pokéball off his belt and sends it spinning out over the arena, where it bursts open to release a jangmo-o.

Bellona certainly looks intimidating, sanding unfazed in the pelting hail, well-protected by her thick scales. She's maybe less regal once she realize she landed atop a toxic spike, and less so yet when this realization sends her stumbling backwards, squawking in dismay and pricking herself on several more of the spikes in the process. The other combatants know it would be a mistake to underestimate a dragon, though, even a poisoned and rather sheepish one.

Bellona's misadventure with the toxic spikes makes Meme-ikyu's welcome present of a hunk of gooey poison a bit redundant, but it at least has the effect of grossing the dragon out a bit. Bellona yelps and shakes herself vigorously, sending gobbets of toxic fluid flying in all directions. She's determined to show off her real power, to make sure nobody thinks of her as weak or silly because of a couple early goofs. The jangmo-o slams her front feet into the ground, sending out a pulse of seismic energy that the other residents of the arena recognize, none too fondly, as yes, another earthquake.

Corie is the hardest-hit of anyone, and the flagging mareanie struggles to keep her head up and her mind focused on her final objective: to leave something behind so that her partner will have a better shot at victory. Unfortunately, with paralysis slowing her reaction times and a certain amount of pent-up anger on Ette's part, she isn't able to pull a safeguard together before the bounsweet descends on her, yelling wildly and pummeling the mareanie for all she's worth. It probably looks more bizarre than intimidating to an outsider, a bounsweet bouncing up and down on a mareanie's head while screaming, but the facade attack has real fury behind it and, ultimately, Corie falls unconscious.

The pokémon are falling ever faster as the Battle Royal roars on, and now it's Superbird who has to choose his next pokémon. He grimaces as he considers the toxic spikes he had his own pokémon litter across the field, but unfortunately he doesn't have a lot of options. He finally settles on Liiri, then hisses what might be a curse when the fomantis, preoccupied by getting her bearings in the arena, bumbles right into one of the nasty spikes. The other pokémon are looking pretty ragged, though, and if he can close things out quickly, the poison won't even matter.

The bell sounds, and the pokémon tense. Ette's looking woozy, near-dead on her feet. Can she last another round?

While Liiri's plucking toxic spikes off herself, wincing and burbling unhappily, Meme-ikyu lashes out at Ette, ghostly fingers turning viciously sharp and digging into the bounsweet's skin. Ette shivers as she feels her lifeforce being drained away into Meme-ikyu, but ultimately she's too tired to do anything about it.

It's an earthquake that separates them, the mat heaving and shaking from Bellona's pounding paws. Meme-ikyu and Ette get bounced apart, tossed unhappily around on the mat's heaving surface. Liiri, too, is knocked into the air, toxic spikes bouncing and clattering all around her. Once the tremors die away, though, the fomantis is quick to right herself. She takes a moment to locate Ette, who's lying on her side with eyes closed, determined to relax and recover her strength. Her reflect screen flickers and dies, but she doesn't seem to notice.

Liiri does, though. With the bounsweet's defenses down, this is the perfect time to strike. She hops over to her prone opponent and jabs her with a leafy arm. Like Meme-ikyu before her, she's looking to suck the life out of Ette--but by stealing her energy, rather than health. Ette's eyes pop open, and she lets out an unhappy squeak--but then those eyes fall closed again just as quickly as Ette succumbs to unconsciousness.

The bell sounds, and Liiri trills in delight, raising her arms over her head. She did it! This is going to be easy!
