Blastoise428 vs Gakidou (Ref: Negrek)

Round Ten

Gakidou (XOO)
vulpix
Flicker (M)
Health: 99%
Energy: 92%
- Quite pleased with himself. Badly poisoned (3% next round).

Blastoise428 (XOO)
trapinch
Sceratio (M)
Health: 100%
Energy: 100%
- Clacking his jaws in a menacing way.

Flicker turns to face Blastoise428 as the trainer selects another pokéball from his belt. With a flick of his wrist he sends it spinning out over the sand, to land and burst open in a riot of white light. When the storm of energy dies away, Sceratio the trapinch stands in its place, beady eyes scanning the parched terrain. Apparently satisfied, the trapinch clicks his jaws, then gives Flicker a wide and jagged grin.

If the vulpix is at all impressed, he doesn't show it. Instead he flares his tails, a golden spark of light dancing at the tip of each one. Sceratio squints against the glaring light, trying to puzzle out what the vupix is up to. The points of light grow in strength and Flicker's tails start up a rippling, twining dance that draws Sceratio's gaze. The trapinch's jaw goes slack as he watches the flickering, glowing lights, which appear to swirl free from Flicker's tails and come dancing through the air towards him. Soon the air around his head is full of phantom sparks, all bobbing and weaving in an unsettling fashion. Sceratio snaps at them out of irritation, but they easily duck and swirl out of the way. Snorting, the trapinch resolves to ignore the sparkling lights and get on with his next attack. Closing his eyes, the trapinch calms himself and tries to eliminate all distractions from his mind, heightening his senses and increasing his battle focus.

Flicker's battle focus at the moment isn't doing too well; once again, he's been given the command to taunt Sceratio, and he still doesn't know how. The vulpix casts his trainer a reproachful look, and as a result misses the sight of Sceratio's eyes opening once again, the trapinch's expression much less playful and far more determined than it was before. The trapinch splays his stubby legs and lowers his heavy head until it's almost touching the sand, the ground around him shivering and shifting as he calls on the power in the earth below. A low rumbling sound starts up, accompanied by a slow hiss of sliding sand, and Flicker's attention snaps back to the fight. It's too late for him to remedy his inattention, though--just then, the sand under his paws erupts in a gout of golden light. The vulpix cries out as pure earth energy singes his fur and loose sand swirls all around him, abrading the bare spots in his coat left by the earlier toxic attack. Even worse, the sand below his feet is swirling inwards like a grainy whirlpool, dragging him down into the source of the raging, burning light. Further yelps from the vulpix are drowned out as opening his mouth only gets it filled with choking sand. His hindquarters sink below the surface, front paws scrabbling for purchase on the shifting grit. Even as the howling roar of the earth power dies away, Flicker remains trapped in the swirling sand tomb, just managing to stay above the surface and spitting grit out of his mouth.

Though Flicker struggles to escape, he can find no way to free himself from the sand tomb, much less run over to Sceratio and give him a piece of his mind. Resting off his combo, the trapinch is unaware of the anger directed his way as he lazily watches the confuse ray drift around and around in his vision, casting a glimmering net over the scenery and turning it into a kind of distorted wonderland.

Gakidou (XOO)
vulpix
Flicker (M)

- Not nearly so confident now. Trapped by sand tomb (1 more action). Badly poisoned (4% next round).

Blastoise428 (XOO)
nincada
Shino (M)
Health: 100%
Energy: 84%
- Feeling pretty good. Focus heightened. Confused (severe).

Final Notes
- Vulpix still cannot learn taunt.
- Blastoise428 attacks first next round.

((Oh shat -_- Gakidou, this is what happens when you forget to look up the list of vulpix moves and forget to pay attention. Dang. Excuse me while I introduce my head to the desk...))

Good, Sceratio. Now to destroy your opponent...

Flicker should be stuck for another action, so stick your head underground and try to clear your head. Use Swagger if Flicker's at a distance, but Double-Edge if he's close enough. Do the same next round, but replace Swagger with Earth Power.

Clear head, hopefully reducing confused-ness~Swagger/Double-Edge~Earth Power/Double-Edge

All right, that's a disqualification for Gakidou; Blastoise428 is the winner with $16 in prizes, and I get $10 for reffing. Flicker and Shino get two EXP each, while Puddle and Sceratio get one.
