EDIT: Oh, yeah. Commands. One week of downtime and I completely lose my head. Silly billy.

First, fire off a Will-O-Wisp, then a Confuse Ray and finish off with a Fire Spin! If Yukianesa uses something like Safeguard or Taunt, exchange the first two actions for Flamethrower and Extrasensory, respectively. If Yuki (can I call her Yuki?) uses Protect, switch anything out for a weak Quick Attack.

Will-O-Wisp/Flamethrower/Quick Attack ~ Confuse Ray/Extrasensory/Quick Attack ~ Fire Spin/Quick Attack

Sorry.

It's no problem. I'm just being overly impatient. And yeah, you can call her Yuki - Yukianesa is pretty hard to type, I admit.

Oh my, I see status conditions. Will-o-Wisp really won't do all too much except for the damage, since we probably won't be using too many physical attacks. So we can afford to set up a Substitute - let's see, 10%, because we want to be economical. I'm not sure if Volvagia will use Flamethrower or Confuse Ray, since Jack didn't say anything about Substitutes, but s'all good: Spite the Flamethrower if she uses that, and use Icy Wind otherwise. If you didn't use Icy Wind during the last action, do so now; if you did, then go with Pebble Jet.

Substitute (10%) ~ Spite/Icy Wind ~ Icy Wind/Pebble Jet

By the way, Mike, how much do you deduct off of a Pokemon's base speed per level of speed reduced (if that made any sense whatsoever)?

Well, not everything. Stuff that randomly runs into the Time Freeze Pocket can still move, albeit very, verrry slowly. For some reason, though, while actual movement takes a great deal of time and effort, projectiles still travel at the same speed. What looks like an ordinary clearing is, in fact, the Time Freeze Pocket; a staggeringly impossible place where all the time in one particular section has decided not to work any more. Poor, doomed birds hang in midair, unable to ever move again, and leaves float a few feet from the trees they fell from. Even more impossibly, beings that enter the area are not eternally stuck in time like everything else; they are able to enjoy the effects of time very slightly, so that it goes much slower and more tediously than usual, akin to the sensation experienced while watching Deal Or No Deal (and yes I do plan on mocking that program in every single battle I ref, deal with it). This odd place has somehow been decided a perfect place for a battle- clearly blazheirio889 and Jack_The_PumpkinKing have superhuman patience or something. The referee arrives at the pocket, which is thoughtfully marked off to stop people wandering in- if the referee and battlers are barely moving either, then this battle might never end- to find the two trainers waiting. blazheirio889 holds up her Pokéball, and a beam of red light shoots out- until it hits the edge of the arena. It then begins to flow out with the viscosity of set concrete. It slowly dribbles towards the floor for what feels like forever, then over the next five minutes, forms the outline of a Snorunt. Yukianesa looks curiously (and, above all, slowly) around the environment as the opposing trainer goes through the same excruciating process to send out Volvagia the Vulpix. Commands are given, and after waiting about thirty seconds for the Pokémon to react to them, the battle gets off to a roaring start.

Health: 100%

Status: feeling much less frisky.
Commands: Will-O-Wisp/Flamethrower/Quick Attack ~ Confuse Ray/Extrasensory/Quick Attack ~ Fire Spin/Quick Attack

Volvagia, being faster (not that that's saying very much), moves first, opening her mouth to release a ball of fire that glows with a purplish shimmer. The orb swirls through the air eerily, unhindered by the time-slowing effects of the arena. It hovers towards Yukianesa, and swirls around her several times before evaporating into a puff of blue smoke. Gradually the Snorunt becomes aware of a nasty burning pain where the orb licked her side. Shrugging it off, she opens her mouth very, very slowly and pulls out a glowing orb of life energy. The three outside the Time Freeze Pocket watch as she manipulates the blob, taking more time than anyone cares to guess to sculpt it into a sort of cone shape. It begins to solidify, taking about a minute, ending up as a makeshift but nevertheless adequate imitation of a Snorunt.

Volvagia eyes the subsitute pensively- Confuse Ray probably won't get past that, which she supposes lumps it in with "something like Safeguard or Taunt". She closes her eyes and activates her psychic abilities, using them to find and attack Yukianesa's weak points. She uses her signals to hack into them and begins to manipulate them painfully- however, that substitute's tricky, and Extrasensory can't get past it either. Due to being such a realistic replica of Yukianesa, Volvagia's signals targeted it instead, and it now stands between them jerking wildly as the psychic powers twist it brutally. When the substitue finally stops twitching, Yukianesa slowly opens her mouth and exhales a huge gust of freezing-cold air. The wind gushes through the arena and blows into Volvagia; the heat of the fire fox's body makes the damage dealt virtually negligible, but somehow, she still feels oddly chilly and lethargic from the frigid temperature.

Now that she's finally got ahead in regards to Speed (not that that's saying much), Yukianesa decides this is the perfect time to unleash her secret, disgusting weapon. She retches slightly and brings up the entire contents of her stomach into her mouth. Quickly (or as quickly as she can, anyway), as the digestive juices are burning her mouth somewhat, she aims at Volvagia and fires a jet of acid and the rocks she had for breakfast earlier right towards her opponent. As the arena prevents the Vulpix managing even to partially dodge anything, the stream blasts her all over, the acid quickly eating away her fur and top layer of her skin before the pebbles smash into the soft, tender exposed flesh beneath. The Vulpix howls in pain and slowly falls to the floor, wincing at the burning sores left by Yukianesa's digestive fluid. Volvagia struggles to her feet and hisses at the Snorunt, breathing out a small stream of flame, which swirls around in the air like a vortex. This then spirals across the arena towards Yukianesa, and her substitute steps in to intercept it. The flame wraps around the substitute and the swirling embers char it all over, melting it slightly; it's starting to look pretty unstable now. The Snorunt growls like her now-empty stomach at the near destruction of her hard work, and then flinches from pain as the burn takes hold. Slowly.

Final Notes
- I know I told you by VM, Blazhy, but just to clarify for everyone: I dock 10 points from the Pokémon's base speed for every reduction, so Yukianesa is now faster than Volvagia.
- I took it that by "something like Safeguard or Taunt", you meant any attack that would negate the effect of Confuse Ray, which Substitute would, so yeah. If that was wrong, though, I'll fix it.
- Yukianesa has used Pebble Jet and can't use it again for this match. And my mental image of a Vulpix with most of its fur burnt off its just so horrid D':
- I'm getting SO fed up of describing things as slow :/
- Blazhy attacks first next turn.

Ahhhh forum ate my post D:

Hey Mike, Pebble Jet usually doesn't remove like, all the fur and stuff, if that helps with the mental image ._. And you might wanna include the duration of the Fire Spin; just a nit-pickish issue.

Alright, Yukianesa, we're doing pretty well (as well as we can against a Fire-type :|). We're guranteed to be protected from most everything for the first action (ilu Substitute), so go ahead and throw up a Light Screen. Then, let's try our luck and spam Blizzard. If there are any clones about, just spread it wider. And if it's possible by some trick of the dimensions, try to angle the Blizzards to cool your burn, or something like that. Yeah.
If Volvagia Protects, Detects, or is somehow out of logical range (Substitute doesn't count), switch to Safeguard on the 2nd action and Spikes on the 3rd. And I'm rather reluctant to devote an entire conditional to this, but I can't think of any other nasty tricks the Vulpix will have up her sleeve, so... If you're ever asleep, Sleep Talk.

Light Screen ~ Blizzard/Safeguard/Sleep Talk ~ Blizzard/Safeguard/Sleep Talk

Okay, Volvagia, we're doing well! First, Roar away that Light Screen, and Fire Spin should finish off the Sub. Go ahead and take the first Blizzard and Disable it; that should either make her switch to Spikes or do nothing on the last action, so why don't you go ahead and find out what your Hidden Power is.

Volvagia stands there very still. She continues to do so for several minutes as her trainer yells her commands over and over, growing impatient of this whole "it takes ages to do anything whatsoever" deal. Finally the commands reach the Vulpix's ears, and she opens her mouth wide and bellows terrifyingly at Yukianesa. The Snorunt, however, is unfazed by this racket, remaining perfectly calm and forming a glittering barrier between herself and Volvagia. The vortex of flames spurts up around her Substitute again, melting it into a puddle.

When Yukianesa regains her composure and stands up, she summons a huge gale of cold air, whipping it into a howling, sub-zero wind, which she sends towards Volvagia. However, lying in wait to attack afterwards, she had cottoned on to what Yukianesa was doing, and managed to shelter behind a nearby rock before the tempest of snow and wind was unleashed on her. The Vulpix peers above the rock and fixes Yukianesa with a hard stare; her eyes flash red, and Yukianesa blinks rapidly... huh, strange. Wait, why's the floor all wet and icy? Did she do that?...

Yukianesa starts to bring up another Blizzard before suddenly realising she can't think how to. Huh... surely she knows Blizzard? She's an Ice Pokémon after all... how strange. She shrugs it off, and instead begins firing spikes (no idea where they're from, as Snorunt don't even have spikes) at Volvagia's side of the field. They stick into the ground around her. Volvagia then opens her mouth and begins gathering mysterious blobs of energy from the air, each sparkling a different colour- they all gather in her open jaws and merge into a muddy brown sphere, which then bursts across the stage into Yukianesa. The Snorunt growls in pain as it slams into her, before suddenly realising how Blizzard is used. Her happiness at this recollection is short lived, as her burn then flares up with pain again, hurting both her and her mood.

Final Notes
- Roar failed to stop Yukianesa's Light Screen due to Inner Focus.
- Fire Spin's aftereffects shattered Yukianesa's substitute.
- Blizzard missed.
- Then it was disabled... for one action.
- I interpreted "out of logical range" to just mean any situation where Volvagia can't be hit by Blizzard. Thus Yukianesa resorted to Spikes on the third action.
- Blazhy, you seem to have contradicted yourself in your commands- you said you were going to use Spikes, but then typed "Blizzard/Safeguard/Sleep Talk". Though I assumed you meant Spikes and went with that.
- Volvagia's Hidden Power was Ground type.
- Jack_The_PumpkinKing attacks first next turn.

Whoops, yeah, I meant Spikes. Though I asked Negrek and she said that Roar doesn't affect a Pokemon with Inner Focus, so can you edit the end stats to reflect that? :< Sorry.

Hm... to continue Yuki's annoyance, start with Swagger! If Safeguard is up, use Natural Gift; if there's anything else that would prevent Swagger, instead set up a Safeguard yourself!

Secondly... Toxic should work well. If something's up that would prevent Toxic, a 15% Sub should work nicely.

Last, shoot off a Flamethrower. If Protect is up, use Sunny Day instead.

Once again, Yukianesa pulls a blob of life energy from her mouth and begins to sculpt it into a cone. To the onlookers' dismay, she decides to really put her heart into it, which given the nature of the arena adds up to a very long wait. Finally, she finishes her masterpiece, proudly placing the golem on the ground in front of her. Volvagia tuts and throws her head back- what a piece of trash. Still, it might well block the full effects of her Swagger... better not use it. Instead, a shining film of light washes over her body, covering her in a pale, shimmering green forcefield.

Yukianesa begins to summon another blast of icy wind, whipping up the air into a freezing cold gale and blasting it across the arena at Volvagia. The Vulpix yelps as the cold air stings her burnt flesh, and the strong wind flings her back across the arena like a ragdoll. She rolls into spikes, and as the wind picks up they are dispersed. Some get blown into her body, causing even more pain. She gets to her feet, growling menacingly, and then angrily as she realises that Toxic won't get through the Substitute either. She decides she may as well follow suit, producing a blob of life energy herself- slightly larger than Yukianesa's- and forming it into a Vulpix. She puts it down before her and admires her handiwork.

...then she waits. It's conehead's turn now, why isn't she moving?... confused, she waits a few minutes to allow for the fact that time's slowed down (which incidentally translates to untold hours of agonising inaction for the onlooker), before shrugging and deciding to take her turn. She takes a deep breath in before expelling a stream of fire across the stage at Yukianesa. Her Substitute springs in front of her before she is hit, and melts instantly as the flames hit it. Volvagia closes her mouth and stops the stream, annoyed. Yukianesa then leaps into action, muttering a vindictive incantation that brings a feeling of dread upon Volvagia; as the Snorunt finishes the curse, Volvagia feels her mind reacting strangely, partially locking away her knowledge of what she just did. Confused by this development, the Vulpix barely notices her opponent squeaking in pain from her burn.

The spikes are gone, having been blown away by Blizzard.

Final Notes
- I looked around for Substitute's effect on Swagger, and as far as I can tell the least it does is block the confusion, which seemed to me reasonable enough justification for Volvagia to avoid it.
- The Spikes were removed by Blizzard, as wind-based moves like Whirlwind and Defog can remove spikes and/or small objects and Blizzard involves very strong wind indeed.
- Flamethrower shattered Yukianesa's substitute.
- Blazhy attacks first next turn.

Ugh, this just isn't going our way is it, Yukianesa? Well, first set up another small Substitute, and then use Ice Beam and Water Pulse to get rid of Volvagia's. Wait until Volvagia has executed her attack before using Water Pulse, 'kay? Sleep Talk if you get put to sleep. Protect and Double Team don't affect Substitutes, so for once we won't have to bother with those conditionals. Remember, aim specifically at the Substitute!

Your description and final notes say Safeguard, but it's not listed in Volvagia's status and her list of commands at the end of the round says Swagger. Which is it? I'm assuming Safeguard, but the following commands won't change if it's not.

Okay, Volvagia, time to go on the offensive! Start out by giving off a Heat Wave! On the second action, spit an Ember to finish off her Substitute if it's still there, or engulf her in a tornado of fire otherwise. Finally, give her a Fire Spin if she's not trapped already, or if she is, mess with her head a bit.

Getting rather weary of this constant arts and crafts business, Yukianesa spits up another glob of life energy and moulds it into a shape, making it into a third cone. This one is rather slapdash, since she's pretty bored of this Substitute business by now, but it still serves as a pretty good meatshield. It shudders before apparently coming to life and hopping in front of Yukianesa. Volvagia peers around her own substitute to see Yukianesa's staring blankly towards her. Ugh, another of these? Shouldn't be too much trouble... she summons enormous heat inside her body, opening her mouth to breathe out an enormous cloud of sweltering hot air. The arena becomes scorchingly hot, and even the trainers and referee start removing jackets and fanning themselves with their hands. For those in the arena the conditions are even worse; the heat is great enough to actually burn. The substitute blocks Yukianesa from the heat the best it can, but at a great price. By the time the heat wave subsides, it has melted into a shimmering pile of meltwater.

Growling, Yukianesa turns the tables, summoning an aura of freezing cold around her mouth. This aura collects into a sphere, which the Snorunt then shoots across the arena into Volvagia's substitute. The beam explodes into a shower of frost, leaving a coating over the front of the substitute. It wobbles back and forth, as though shivering, to remove the frosty coating before returning to its inanimate stillness. Volvagia smirks smugly at the now-undefended Yukianesa, and spits a string of flames across the arena towards her. The string forms a vortex and wraps around the Snorunt, constricting and licking at her as it spins. The Snorunt growls in discomfort at the slight burning sensation it leaves with each rotation.

Volvagia waits once more; several minutes and still no attack from Yukianesa. Why does she always take so long every third action? Volvagia decides to give her a nudge; closing her eyes, she taps into her psychic abilities and hacks her way into Yukianesa's mind. Once there she activates all the Snorunt's pain receptors at once, and opens one eye to see her twitching and convulsing horribly, wailing in pain as her body twists in every possible direction (and a few impossible ones to boot). Volvagia stops, and the Snorunt's body stops moving and collapses to the floor. Shuddering, Yukianesa gets up and growls at Volvagia. Melting some ice in her mouth, she spits it at the Vulpix with an ear-splitting screech, shooting it at her with a high-pitched sound wave into the substitute standing between the two. The noise rocks the substitute from side to side violently before it collapses sideways to the ground, and slowly dissolves into the water. Yukianesa chuckles evilly, before her burn flares up and the tornado of flame swirling around her tightens, burning her nastily. This isn't going to make things much easier. Volvagia snickers cruelly as her pale green shimmer dies down.

- Ice beam did regular damage to Volvagia's sub, since the Ice-damage-worsening sores are on her and not her substitutes.
- Water Pulse shattered Volvagia's substitute.
- Volvagia's Safeguard wore off on the last action.
- Jack_The_PumpkinKing attacks first next round.

Okay, we're slowly wearing her down. I want you to use Dark Pulse, Energy Ball, and Chill, in that order. If Yuki uses Ice Beam or Blizzard, Protect against it. (If she's commanded to use both, just Protect against Blizzard, and if she's commanded to use either one more than once, just Protect against the first usage. Got that?) If she is ordered to use Substitute or Safeguard on the 2nd or 3rd action, use Imprison on the action before it.

Dark Pulse/Protect/Imprison ~ Energy Ball/Protect/Imprison ~ Chill/Protect

Just Bide. :3 Make sure you release Bide when Volvagia's trying to Chill, so she regains less energy. Edit: Derp wait, I just remembered that Chills are banned. So yeah, it doesn't matter when you release Bide, Yukianesa.

Bide ~ Bide ~ Release Bide
