Alright, I know at least a very few people here play this game so I've decided to make this thread.

Discuss anything Dota-related here, like do you play on bnet and/or on garena, what are your favourite heroes or roles in the game, etc etc. You can even post your garena account names and we might be able to get some games in.

If I really want to win, then I usually choose either Mortred, Dragon Knight or Earthshaker, but I play all heroes well, so most of the time I just -random.

Prefer playing carries or gankers rather than tanks or support, but I'm sick of allies usually picking 4x agi, and then I have to take a tank or we'll lose. :/

I also like to use non-standard item builds which however still work really well. I like it when I go beyond godlike with Desolator+Armlet+Vladi Mortred, however, despite getting that beyond godlike streak, I get called a noob for getting those items in the first place instead of going for the standard Battle Fury build, it's so ironic. Also Skadi+Refresher Orb Juggernaut has got to be the most fun to use item build ever.

Also like using Necromonicon a lot (especially on Bane/Rexxar/Enigma but not limited to those), that item is really underrated/underused and considered to be difficult to micro, but it's really not as difficult to use as it seems. (then again, I'm a Zerg player in Starcraft so I suppose my APM is high enough to handle it much easier than others, eh.)

Ok, let the discussion begin.

P.S. Tauren's skills are what really need to be nerfed, not his stats, wtf are you doing Icefrog?!...

Hrrm. Don't really have any favourites. I play pretty much anything that doesn't involve micromanagement. (I've never even tried to play Geomancer...)

I've never really had any problems with microing Meepo, you only need to cast 2 Earthbinds, sometimes even just 1 is enough, start attacking the main target, then tab between the Meepos, while clicking F then on the map in-between (though before the first time I've used Meepo in public games I've tried it out against the AI first in one game for practicing), easy triple kills and beyond godlike streak in like 35 minutes, as long as they don't have some really good Meepo counter like Earthshaker or Lion or etc.

I'd say Chen is more difficult to micro than Meepo. (especially if someone buys Necromonicon for Chen)

I don't know, it's probably not that hard once you get used to it, but I like being able to focus on controlling one unit.

Oh, and personally, I prefer Lich against Meepo, but hey.

Yeah, Lich is okay against Meepo, but I dislike how his ulti isn't always reliable, plus, as can be expected from Meepo pickers to be better than ordinary players, they usually care even about the positioning of the clones on the battlefield to minimize the damage taken from Chain Frost. I've even seen them carrying the new Khadgar's Pipe lately, which can be activated on time as opposed to against ES, Lion, Tiny, Nerubian Assassin, Leshrac or Lina (it is assumed ES, Tiny and Lina have Dagger).

My personal favourite counter to Meepo is actually Trax. Approach them with Lothar, silence them all to prevent Earthbind / Poof spam, then kill the lowest hp clone in the matter of seconds with your high damage, attack speed and slow. Works all the time, and Trax getting fed is always terrible news for the opposite team.

Hmmm while I do enjoy playing it, I haven't really thought of it as anything more than... a map. Not really crazy about it, but I do enjoy playing with friends. Can't stand public games anymore.

My favorite hero is the Lich.

I need to get myself a new copy of Warcraft III...

Whenever I play Lich, I pretty much have to go for a semi-DPS build involving Desolator and Cuirass, because the standard Meka BoT Aghanim build makes him a too boring support hero for my tastes whose only non-boring ability is his ultimate which has to be placed and timed really well to be effective (which is why some people get Dagger as well but eh).

Sometimes I'd get Necromonicon (if they have invisible heroes) or Orchid (if they have Storm Spirit or Anti-Mage) over either Deso or Cuirass though, but would still try to get the other one, because armor reduction rules and supports the team really well, makes him less dependent on his ultimate to get kills / heavily damage the opposition, and because I like to at least semi-carry with most heroes I use, heh (most of the time I don't trust my allies in public games that they alone would be able to carry the team to victory).

I very rarely see Lich in games these days though, guess people might dislike the nerf on Aghanim no longer increasing the bounce count.
