• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Defying Expectations

InvaderSyl

Irken Elite Scientist Writer Person and Stuff
Yes, if you've read my stories before, it's not your clear-cut kind of fic.

It occurs to me I've read WAY too many TV tropes. meh.

* Syl is a former scientist who would have become tallest if not for her experiment with a prototype SIR, which had the control brains re-write her pak as an Invader. Whoops.

* She was off planet early to figure out where the Tallest were, but then there's the whole Impending Doom 1 disaster on Irk and basically everyone she knew is destroyed by Zim.

* She conquors the planet Luxia, and reports in for her next mission ( having finally found the massive )

* The Tallest didn't know about her as an Invader ( so they didn't even wonder how she was still alive ) so they send her to Earth

* This was due to an alternate script of Ten Minuites to Doom in which Zim does die at the end, however GIR manages to electrify him and he ends up alive. Although the Tallest are not aware of this. ( And by the time they are, it's kinda too late )

* Syl and her SIR prototype learn Earth customs, but soon after she finda that Zim is responsible for Impending Doom 1's failure.

* Syl plans to visit the Tallest ( cue, WHY U DO DIS?!? ) but Zim tries to stop her and they both crash-land on Earth.

* Still alive ( beacuse they got better. Due to the fact that nothing can really kill an irken except pak separation, unless google was wrong), but afterward Syl's ship explodes. Because there's always an explosion. Blame the evil death bee :P

* They eventually figure out that That's not Eath... it's Meekrob.

* And soon, they find Invader Tenn being held captive by... SIR units? (4:15)

* In a luxorious cardboard prison, none the less. Although it doesn't look that way on the outside, because there's no kill like overkill. Plus it's cool.

* So after sneaking their way up to the gate, Zim and Syl manage to get in using Paper thin disguises and some blue spraypaint.

* GIR and Syl's SIR also manage to get in, disguised as some rouge SIR units ( although unintentional, he was actually trying to give the guards waffles. Because waffles are frowned upon there, apparently. )

* All is well... until there is a case of Irony. ( Syl's SIR unit: Wait... ZiM! Syl! How did you- *duct-tape* MMMMPH! *lazers through duct tape* Syl: I... it's right behind me, isn't it? * everyone nods* Now we run. )

* Tenn is found (admittedly due to her escaping only to go back inside the prison cell. Admittedly, it was a nice prison cell. Syl:"WHY didn't we just allow ourselves to be captured then?" Zim:"... I really don't know." GIR:" We needed a plotline? Syl's SIR unit ( WOW I need to give it a name Dx ):" Makes sense to me")

* Having found the seceret elevator, our heroes find.. all of that was unessacsary. It was cool, though.

* We later find that Tenn has conquored Meekrob, and Syl is being recognized by the Tallest ( much to Zim's chagrin, when he finds out ) and Syl remembers why she wanted to go back to Irk anyway ( "We saved Tenn and Tak's still alive, but that's pretty much everyone else I know right now. And Zim- hold on a second, it was Zim's fault, wasn't it?!? WOW forced allience makes you forget stuff... so HE MUST PAY.")

* Zim and Syl contact eachother, but agree on sharing game code rather than actual revenge and whatnot

END

As a general rule, anything that involves Zim having actual feelings about anyone other than himself is probably going to be out of character.

Exactly.

Which is why it's only like "Oh. She gets recognition by the tallest. Awesom- WAIT A SECOND D:< Wha? She can't do that!"

But then again, I DID write this half asleep yesterday, so I probably left it out :P

And Syl was kinda like " KK, we saved Tenn and Tak's still alive, but that's pretty much everyone else I know right now. And Zim- hold on a second, it was Zim's fault, wasn't it?!? WOW forced allience makes you forget stuff... so HE MUST PAY. "

So they settle on giving game codes and stuff :P

Because game codes are the very definition of payback. Plus victory is boring.

It occurs to me I PROBABLY left this out when I started writing the summary-thing. This is why I haven't started actually writing yet.

Meh, I'll re-write for more clairity :P

Oh gosh, I think I definitely went overboard on the TV tropes. It's clearer now, anyway :P

Oh dear.
I came up with a story idea ( non-fanfic-wise ) and IT DOESN'T EVEN FIT A TROPE. To my knowledge, anyway. Closest one would have to be This.

Two 'heroes' are chosen, both to face the opposite side. Then... things get weird.

Neither of them have a power! Just regular people, supposed to be the chosen ones. BOTH are protagonists and antagonists, to some extent.

And... that's as far as I got. That's what happens when you've had an idea for a total of three seconds XD
