Great Hacking tools?

So I've been wanting to hack either Crystal or Emerald, and I was hoping to get into the game, not just edit maps. You know, change things around. But I don't have a clue as to what programs can do this. Any help would be appreciated.

Precisly. I want something to play around with, but I don't want to edit just maps.

Some have. And at least Crystal (well Gold/Silver really) is well-documented.

Well, I don't really need anything for Crystal or Emerald anymore, just possibly good ol' Red and Blue. Mainly just for some general stuff, like maybe a couple of map edits, but something useful.

I have loads of programs for haking pokemon roms, I'll upload them somewhere so you can download them if you want.

advance map is a tile editor that can put in hidden items and add/change wild pokemon.
