Arena: The Jolliest Place in Kutho!
More footpaths than roads, the streets of Fleet Town are peaceful and well-maintained. The plant life is simple but beautiful. Local shops and restaurants line the road on either side, spilling warm yellow light onto the street. Between two of these is a nearby alleyway with a tipped-over trash can, where mangy rattata hide or gather food. The store signs are noticeable but not gaudy or flashy, except for the particularly bright, colourful ice cream parlour sign.
The sky is thick and dark with clouds, and it is raining. The pavement is soaked, and the water collects in the gutters on the side of the road. A few puddles remain to splash in, revealing the usually-unnoticeable imperfections in the pavement, although none are more than an inch deep.
A ways behind Negrek is the pokemon centre, which still receives the amount of traffic the streets of Fleet Town are usually subject to. However, due to the downpour, the battlefield is mostly devoid of other human life. More distantly, those who wander the streets can find themselves at the pokemart or the market, both of which have several patrons despite the rain.
As no one was able to procure a radio for this battle, the techno music will come from a loudred provided by some nearby dancing teens.
Round Eight: Begin
Still adjusting to the awkward sensation of paralysis, however mild, Ozzy stumbles forward and advances on Silver with his arms waving as fast as they can go. The movement they eventually settle into is familiar--he lunges at the still-stunned togepi, lifts him bodily and then heaves him across the ruined asphalt. Silver squeaks with each bounce on the pavement, though he is quick to shut himself up. Pitiful squeaking is not, after all, behavior befitting the
true master of the magma storm!
So he fights his way to his feet and swings his own arms back and forth. A silvery light envelops his hands and spreads to his bottom, stretching out into the shape of a short, tapering tail. The tail appears to be insubstantial, flickering in the heat and smoke rising up from the ground as Silver moves toward his foe, but it feels unnervingly solid when it connects with Ozzy's chest in a hefty swing. The force of the iron tail bowls the ludicolo over and sends him skidding across the pavement.
Almost dizzy with pain and frustration, Ozzy picks himself up yet again.
I can't give up now. I can't let these injustices go unpunished... I can't let this hack
get the best of me. His fingers move back and forth, back and forth, as a ruddy glow begins to surround them... but he doesn't let it distract him. Not like that confuse ray at the beginning of the round... not like the sacred fire he nailed Silver with before...
just let the punishment come, Ozzy. Don't force it, don't fight it, don't get your hopes up... all hell will break loose on his sorry shelled behind on its--
BOOM.
A massive shockwave tears through the decimated streets, instantly snuffing flames and breaking down any structures or fragments of structures that dared remain upright after the devastation wrought by the magma storm. Silver is thrown back and slammed into a bent lamppost by an intensely hot pressure wave that opens a maze of new cracks in his shell, and for a few seconds blacks out from the impact.
It isn't until the last echoes of the explosion die down that the togepi comes to and sees the aftermath of the attack. Nothing within a forty-foot radius of the blast is left a piece larger than a foot, including the young woman who had just managed to drag her broken body out from beneath the ruined pokémon center; even objects further away did not manage to escape unscathed. A glance over his own shoulder--he winces as he hears his fragmented shell chip and crackle merrily--shows Silver's trainer, coughing and nursing what looks like an injured arm. Negrek is trying very hard to suppress a smile as she observes the carnage. Sure, it wasn't Silver who caused it, but...
carnage, right? The referee is in a similar sorry state, though in an attempt to appear impartial and in charge for as long as possible he is currently trying (and failing) to pass off his sooty, bloody cough as being related to the cold he has recently come down with.
Kusari, on the other hand, has no trouble at all trying not to look pleased or hurt--it doesn't have to try. The trainer has dropped to its knees and is simply staring straight ahead, ignoring the cuts and burns covering the front of its body and expressing no emotions other than horror and disbelief. It could, of course, care less about the smoldering bits and pieces of innocent bystander scattered all over Fleet Town. It is Ozzy--or, rather, the charred, smoking lump of flesh and plant material formerly known as Ozzy--that holds its attention. A feeble "whut" escapes its lips as it watches the ex-ludicolo flop forward and hit the street with a soft
thud, now well and truly spent.
The ref coughs again, winces as the action jars a broken rib, and then hastily opens three poké balls. Muttering something about distributing prizes later--assuming that there's any prize money left after the hospital bills--he climbs onto the back of a bright red salamence and directs the other two pokémon, a stony-skinned pterosaur and a large, blue gryphon, to get the two battlers out of here before the authorities arrive and start asking annoying questions, like "how could you people just up and annihilate
an entire town?" Negrek doesn't resist as the aerodactyl grabs her shoulders in its talons, only recalling the giggling Silver with a smile before letting it carry her away. Kusari recalls what remains of its ludicolo as well, taking just a little comfort in the fact that, at the very least, Ozzy's self-destruction was not in vain. That'll teach Fleet Town to have a happy, peaceful existence.

wow. :D
Arena Status: Silver's magma storm has torn right through Fleet Town, and Ozzy's explosion has destroyed what little was left. Both sides of the street are now a blazing ruin, every single building completely decimated by the attacks. The worst of the eruptions are over, only a few puffs of smoke or fire seeping forth out of the cracks in the street now; this is, of course, little consolation to the remaining citizens of Fleet Town, particularly those still trapped in burning rubble. Chunks of human bodies litter the broken pavement. The rain is still falling, but the intense heat coming from below is causing most of it to evaporate before it reaches the ground.
Rain: Indefinite
Ref's Notes
-Ozzy's metronomed attacks: Seismic Toss ~ Explosion
-Silver's metronomed attacks: Iron Tail
-You might be interested to know that, had Ozzy parafailed and not blown himself to smithereens, Silver's next move would've been guillotine. If guillotine missed Ozzy would've gotten seed flare at the beginning of the next round, though how well he would've been able to manage after Silver's zap cannon is anyone's guess.
Damn but the generator hates Ozzy.
-The leafduck asploded and Negrek is the winner. She gets $8 and Silver gets 2 exp and 2 points toward happiness evolution. Kusari gets $3 and Ozzy gets 1 exp. I get $5 for reffing. This was
awesome. :D
