I used phpBB to make my forum - I know that other things such as VBulletin are options too - what do you guys think is best?

By the way I'm putting this on my site, so do not need any inferior yet free alternatives.

Compare features/give them a test drive and decide for yourself what you're most comfortable with. Just be careful you don't choose something dead.

If you're just starting out then paying for something like vBulletin is stupid. Don't spend money on something like that until you already know that it's a success and will be worth the expense.
