Minnow vs. Blastoise428

MurrMurr

And this...is my necktie.
The challenge goes as thusly presented:

Another challenge:
2vs2 double
Style: set
DQ: 3 weeks
Damage Cap: 30%
Banned Moves: OHKO, 5 Chill/Pokémon
Arena: Replica Solar System

A wonderfully realistic Solar System model, complete with water on the Earth model and rotating asteroids. The planets are rather large, Mercury being about the size an elephant would be if it was crushed into a ball. Saturn's rings are solid and rotating, and all of the moons are present to scale. The room, which is perfectly round, is matte black dotted with bright white, yellow, red, or blue dots. The planets are arranged in a circle, expanding outward in order, with the sun in the middle and Pluto near the wall. Besides the minute stars, the Sun is the only source of light in the room.

Notes: A lever on the ceiling above Neptune starts/stops the planets rotating slowly, but it takes an action to do so. The room starts with the planets moving.

And the active squads are as follows:

And the magic coin of supermagic says...

2. Minnow sends out and attacks
3. Blastoise428 attacks
4. I ref

Good luck to both sides, and remember it's a double battle so send out two Pokemon.

I'll use Aximilli, my somewhat overenthusiastic female Wooper with Water Absorb. And Sceratio, my male Trapinch with Arena Trap.

EDIT: Thanks for reffing this. This'll be fun!

I'll send out Harold, my male Cyndaquil with Blaze, and Nikolai, my Male Eevee with Adaptability.

Harold, first off you should drop down to the floor as soon as you can. If you see a promising spot go ahead and try to conceal yourself. At least get yourself away from the main action. After you're settled use Defense Curl. As long as you're still safe afterward you can use Sunny Day. If not then use Smokescreen.

Hide~Defense Curl~Sunny Day/Smokescreen

Nikolai, if Aximilli tries to go after Harold then defend him with multiple quick attacks, if necessary. If Sceratio goes after Harold then don't worry as much, but if the opportunity presents itself then help Harold in the same way. Otherwise, Iron Tail Aximilli first. If she doesn't recover quickly then try to Attract her. If not then use Mud-Slap on whichever foe is closest. After, Bite the foe you Mud-Slapped.

Quick Attack/Iron Tail~Quick Attack/Attract/Mud-Slap~Quick Attack/Bite

Scerry, use a Sandstorm, using all of that red dirt on Mars (that big, red, sandy ball in the air). While the Sandstorm is going, sneak up on that Eevee and use a Rock Smash on it. Then go over to the Sun, as close as you feel comfortable being, and use a supercharged Solar Beam on the Eevee. If something prevents you from using Solar Beam, use Sand Tomb on that Eevee.

Aximilli, dash as fast as you can over to Earth, and jump in the ocean. Peek your head out and fire a Water Pulse at the Eevee. On your next action, there should be a Sandstorm going, so jump out of the ocean and try a Mud Bomb at the Eevee. If the Mud Bomb works, jump back in the ocean and just use a Whirlpool at the same spot you fired your Mud Bomb. If the first Mud Bomb didn't work, just relax and Chill.

BATTLE COMMENCE!
MurrMurr carefully tiptoes into a nondescript building on the outer edges of League territory, being careful to shut the door behind him. He walked into a giant elliptical room, with wonderfully carved and detailed planets animatronically trawling on predetermined paths, a Porygon-Z and an Alakazam hidden cleverly in an adjacent area making everything work. MurrMurr takes stock of the two participants. In one corner, Blastoise428 stands, already brandishing two Pokeballs. In another, Minnow is looking around eagerly.

MurrMurr sighs. He knows bringing the ref's clipboard is pointless, as everyone is already knowledgeable about the challenge years before the battle actually starts. Instead, he just nods. Blastoise428 leads off by throwng the two balls high up into the air. Out of one, a Wooper materializes in the vicinity of Jupiter's very thin rings. A Trapinch emerges from the other, nearly colliding with an asteroid from the asteroid belt. Minnow responds with two Pokemon of his own: A Cyndaquil, materializing on Mars (and then falling off), and an Eevee, materializing right by a switch on the wall. Commands are issued and the battle begins!

Harold lets his flame die out before dashing madly into the asteroid belt, in the hopes of losing any pursuers. Sceratio and Aximilli both dash (walk?) in opposite directions, and Nikolai, judging Aximilli not to be a threat to Harold, dashes towards Earth (at almost 4 times the speed of Aximilli), tail glowing with metallic energy. The Wooper never even makes it to Earth before being slammed by Nikolai, battered so hard that her natural resistence drops as her skin is bruised and abraised. She nonetheless gets up and shoots a concentrated jet of water, knocking Nikolai into Earth. Sceratio finishes the action by waltzing merrily over to Mars and (while still trying to keep up with the sphere, poor thing) siphons dust off of it to create a whirling trunade of sand that sweeps across the entire room, battering the both of Minnow's participants.
<Harold: -2H, -1E><Aximilli: -6H, -4E><Nikolai: -8H, -7E><Sceratio: -0H, -4E>
Harold just curls up into a little ball, below even the lowest dipping asteroids, just kind of ignoring the world around him to build up defenses. Nikolai, ignoring his partner for the moment, kicks up some mud from the sphere he's standing on right into Aximilli's face. Aximilli hoots and wobbles around, trying to provide a cover for the Trapinch that is (painfully) slowly advancing on Nikolai. That and trying to deal with more pain than normal from such a pathetic attack. Eventually (just as Nikolai is starting to doubt Aximilli's truthfulness), Trapinch hits him with a quick jab in the legs at the same time that Aximilli magically "recovers" and splatters mud all over his face. Eugh.
<Harold: -2H, -2E><Aximilli: -3H, -5E><Nikolai: -12H, -6E><Sceratio: -0H, -6E>
Letting his flame rise again, Harold ducks and weaves his way around the room and lets his voice be heard. Howling to the heavens (ha ha), the area's sandstorm dies out to be replaced with magnificent sunshine (although only partially from the bulbous sun in the room). Nikolai, seeing neither perk up and attack the only partially concealed Harold, walks over and gnaws on Aximilli's head. The Wooper squeals in pain, dropping to the ground, forgetting what she was supposed to do. The Trapinch, finally approaching the sun, waits until he feels the heat. Then, he spins around and unleashes a huge beam of pure energy straight at poor suspecting Nikolai. Then Sceratio is nearly slammed by Mercury, and everyone has a good laugh.
<Harold: -0H, -4E><Aximilli: -6H, -0E><Nikolai: -10H, -4E><Sceratio: -0H, -11E>

Trapinch
Sceratio (M)
-Arena Trap
Health: 100%
Energy: 79%
Chills: ooooo
Status: Tired of running around, but glad he's not hurt.
Commands: Sandstorm~sneak up on Nikolai and Rock Smash~Solarbeam

Arena and Battle Notes:
-On the first action, Iron Tail lowered Aximilli's defense.
-Trapinch used extra energy to run around to three different areas in the room.
-On the second action, Nikolai's Mud Slap was a critical hit.
-On the second action, both Mud Slap and Mud Bomb lowered their respective targets' accuracy.
-Nikolai took exactly 30% damage, but not over, so he was pseudo-capped on the third action.
-I (being an astronomy nerd) have a whole load of questions for you, Blastoise428. I'm assuming it's all to scale, but not exact (so that Pluto isn't more than a billion miles away from the sun and it doesn't take 250 years to get around the room once). What about pressure? Will standing on Jupiter flatten you? Will standing on the Moon make you 6 times lighter? Will the sun vaporize you if you touch it? Will standing on Neptune poison and choke you? Will it rain diamonds on Neptune, for that matter? (Told you I was a nerd).
-I realized that Aximilli was a girl (and Nikolai a guy)after I reffed this, and I tried to change it, but if their genders are still wrong let me know.
-Blastoise428 attacks first next round.
-Happy '09!
-Blastoise428 attacks first.

((Hmm. Well, you would get a nasty burn from the sun if you touched it. I tried to provide a size scale-hold on- here;
The planets are rather large, Mercury being about the size an elephant would be if it was crushed into a ball.
Yes, I suppose that that Alakazam (nice idea) that you mentioned would Psychic the Pokemon to simulate gravity change [though not enough to flatten a Pokemon], and all of the poison-gas planets (I'll leave that up to you) would cause some sort of poisoning, I suppose. Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions. By the way, you're a faaaaaaaast ref.))

Hmm, Ax, I want you to go into the ocean (PLEASE) and fire a Whirlpool at the Cyndaquil, unless you can't see him, in which case hide in the water. Then Water Absorb for an action, and then hit your closest opponent with a Waterfall. If at any point you're hit by that Eevee, think about how mean he was to you and then Frustration him.
Whirlpool/hide/Frustration~absorb water/Frustration~Waterfall/Frustration.

Scerr, buddy, combine a Quick Attack and a Faint Attack on Harold and try to keep him from escaping using your Arena Trap. He should be hit by some water, so after that use Toxic, aiming at those spots on his back.

Faint Attack+Quick Attack and keep Harold from leaving immediate area~Toxic

Erm...

I don't have time to post commands right now, I'll edit them in later. But I was just popping in and couldn't help asking something, especially because it might affect my commands.

So, the celestial bodies aren't to scale, right? I mean, to each other. Because I, being an astronomy nerd also, think that would be a little unrealistic for a battlefield. Even if Mercury was elephant-sized it would be way to big.

Hmm... Let me find a picture...

planets5.png

So, yeah. I'm going to assume it's not like that. So, what are the sizes, approximately?

EDIT: Unless we should just consider the outer planets irrelevant? And the sun is just that much smaller?

Well, the planet replicas are different sizes, of course, the Pluto being muuuuch smaller than the Jupiter. But not exactly that dramatic.

Something like;

O o O O o ::::: O O O O o

*is lonely 'cause he's the only non-astronomy nerd*

DQ warning for Minnow. You have 48 hours to post attacks or else you will be disqualified. (Hey, I'm only slightly late!)

Ugh... Really sorry for taking so long. A lot of stuff's been going on; I got caught up and kept putting this off in favor of more important things. I'll try to be more punctual next round. Sorry...

Blastoise, thanks for the sizes. That's about what I guessed, but I wasn't sure. Oh, and does your Wooper's name come from where I think it does?

~ ~ ~

Nikolai, sorry about how last round went. You can take it easy for this round. Start off with a Yawn aimed at Aximilli. Then go ahead and Rest as soon as you can. If, for some reason, you happen to wake up during the third action just Chill. One last thing, if you get caught up in the action try to escape it, but if that proves impossible then you can try Iron Tailing,

Yawn/Iron Tail~Rest/Iron Tail~Sleep/Chill/Iron Tail

Okay Harold, you need to be careful. A lot of attacks will be coming at you. Throughout the entire round try your best to avoid any attacks, while actively searching for opportunities to act. If you ever get close to Aximilli then try to attract her, and if you get close to Scerr then try to attack him with Crush Claw. Also, if you ever find yourself the opportunity, then use Smokescreen to cloud the arena. If possible, though, keep smokescreen as your top priority.

Attract/Smokescreen/Crush Claw~Attract/Smokescreen/Crush Claw~Attract/Smokescreen/Crush Claw

I'm so hypocritical...

Of course, my dear Minnow. Glad to have battled you, good sir.

And, yes, Aximili's name comes from where you think if the term 'yeerk scum' means anything to you.
