Just to clear the deck, I own no monkeys.
Arena: Bubbly Clouds
The arena is a platform of impossibly solid clouds in an equally improbable breathable atmosphere. The arena measures about six meters across, and any pokemon that somehow gets pushed over the edge receives 40% damage which ignores the damage cap. Flying moves get a 1% power boost at this high altitude, and since you're above the clouds, the only weather move that actually does anything is Rain Dance-which simply causes the cloud to be charged with electricity, doing 5% electric damage to each pokemon in the middle of each round.
Except for the first round, at the beginning of each round, Kracko Jr. has a thirty percent chance of appearing at the very beginning of each round and dropping three to four bombs in the general direction of the fighters. The bombs have a base power of 55 and are typeless, although ghosts will take half as much damage from them.

Halan knows this is do-or-die – and perhaps that’s why, on this of all rounds, his muscles lock up on him. He glares tirelessly at his opponent, hoping beyond hope that this isn’t the end. Ruse grins inwardly at its commands, staring back at Halan without a flinch. Finally. The staryu spreads its psychic mind outwards, locating Halan’s aura the same way he located its; and the moment it finds his, it locks onto it. The riolu, being unable to fight back, stays completely still – the perfect toy. Slowly, Ruse lifts the riolu up off the platform, the two Pokémon both glowing a soft lavender colour as the psychic energy surrounds them both. Not being of the psychic element, it’s more difficult than it could be for the staryu…
… but not that hard. Its ruby-red center glows bright purple and Halan is swiftly tossed over the edge of the platform, unable even to scream. He plummets earthwards, falling through the clouds and praying for something, anything, to save him – but nothing does.
He hits the ground with a cracking sound, perhaps his backbone breaking or the earth shattering at the impact; either way, it doesn’t matter, as he’s slipped into unconsciousness even before he hit the ground. He’s quickly withdrawn into his Pokéball, leaving a bloody stain where he’d hit the ground – and back on the platform, Ruse is withdrawn as well, glowing with pride.
