• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

New Laptop!

Dragon of Fire

Dragon's rage
I hate the desktop I always used to use. It's so slow that I can't even tell that it has a great internet connection, which it does. This laptop is simply amazing. It is better than most desktops I have seen with its amazing 1 TB hard drive and 8 Gigs of RAM. I even get to play games I got a while ago, because my old computer didn't have a good enough graphics card to support them. I'm really happy that I finally got it after having to wait for about a month just to order it. I will hopefully never have to use that old piece of junk again!

Only 8 gigs!? My Macbook has, like, 300!

That aside, congratulations! Now you'll be able to truly comprehend the virtues of laptops, especially in comparison to those lousy desktop computers! The portability is the main thing, IMO, but this new graphics card you speak of also looks like a jump up from what you'd been previously using. You may want to get an actual mouse for it, though, rather than using the Trackpad all the time (a mouse would probably be helpful for gaming).

One question: Which OS is it running, and which OS was your old computer?

Thanks. I think you're talking about your hard drive space being 300 Gigs. Mine has 1 TB (1000 Gigs). The RAM is one way to measure how fast your computer is. 8 Gigs is a lot, and I don't think an ordinary Macbook would have nearly as much.

My OS is Windows 7, my old computer has Windows Vista but it used to have Windows XP before I downloaded an IDE made by Windows (for programming). This is an ASUS laptop in case you were wondering. They are made for gaming, it even came with a really cool gaming mouse.
