Style: Set
DQ: 1 Week
Damage Cap: 40%
Banned Moves: OHKO, Direct Healing, Weather Moves
Arena: The Moon

This battle takes place on our very own, well known moon, with an area just large enough for a battle filled with oxygen so that the Pokemon and people can breathe, and moves using fire can be used. The terrain here is rocky and bumpy, so most Pokemon have to be careful not to trip. The gravity here is low, so if Pokemon land after flying the land is much slower and softer, and they will fly higher with less effort, therefore moves or actions that require jumping up take less energy. There is no water here either, so non-amphibious Water Pokemon are not recommended, unless a small crater is filled up with water from a move such as Water Gun. Aside from the dull, gray landscape, the sky is quite beautiful, with more stars than are visible from Earth from a clearer atmosphere, a few brighter dots that are planets, and a huge, blue-and-white orb that is Earth.

Le Almighty Coin of Final Decisions Dictates:
Grass King sends out.
shadow_lugia sends out and attacks.
Grass King attacks.

And I'll send out Spectre, my male Spiritomb, with the Pressure ability.

Now, let's try to start off with a Confuse Ray. Status affections are good on the enemy. Then let's use Water Pulse, for a super effective hit, and the possible chance of confusing if Confuse Ray fails. Then wrap it up with a Shadow Ball, for a STAB hit, which is always pleasant. However, if he uses Protect on the second or third actions, just Chill, and if he uses it on the first action, use Nasty Plot. You're slower than him anyway, so there isn't really any harm in waiting to see what he does.

We're cheering for you, Spectre!

The wide expanse of the moon seems to stretch on forever, and the whole atmosphere is calm and eerily tranquil, just as everything should be. No random little green men, no space rhinos.....just the moon, along with a two people standing in the center, looking very bored.

In this area of the moon, the reality is warped and bent to suit the needs of the battlers. Oxygen; for one thing, which would explain the lack of space suits.
Having arrived on rusty space ships that were far from first class, Grass King and Shadow Lugia are left lolling about on the moon of all places, wondering disappointedly how long they'll have to wait until the ref shows up. Just as they're considering calling it off, they both catch a brief flash of multi-coloured light from the corner of their eyes. Byrus appears out of seemingly nowhere, muttering something about a highly expensive Alakazam he had to rent for a teleport.

"Alright, sorry to keep you guys waiting for so long....basically, Walker is a bit tied up at the moment and unable to ref, so i'll be standing in for him until he gets back." Byrus rapidly explains. The two trainers nod, thankful to get their long awaited battle started.
Not wanting to waste any more time in kicking things off, Byrus holds up a hand, and calls out the attack order, nodding towards Grass King.
Taking a Pokéball from his belt, Grass King throws it onto the craggy landscape, where it bursts open in a flash of light. Chiot the Growlithe appears, quickly taking a battle stance....then doubling back in shock as he looks at his surroundings. With the inky blackness of space stretched out before him, along with the rocky alien landscape, he can't help but feel uneasy.
As she sees her opponent's choice, Shadow Lugia sends out her pick: a Spiritomb called Spectre. Chiot's mood isn't improved by the ghost pokémon's wicked grin, but he nevertheless steps forward, trying to project an air of confidence.

Round one

Trying to ignore the alien arena for the moment, Chiot opens his jaws, where a sphere of ghostly blue fire flickers into life. He promptly spits it out at Spectre, where it dances eerily and jerkily, moving slowly one second, then quickly the next.
However, the orb of phantom fire abruptly veers off course at the last second, diving down onto the ground and burning out. Chiot snarls in disdain, annoyed at himself for the misfire, as Spectre chuckles, setting about his own attack.
Swivelling around on his keystone to face Chiot head on, Spectre’s body begins to swirl around, slowly gathering speed until it’s nothing more than a jagged blurr of purple. As his body continues spinning, his eyes and mouth remain in the same spot, leering at Chiot with a sickly green gaze. Chiot finds himself helplessly looking at the dizzying sight as the green orbs on the Spiritomb begin to pulse like a heartbeat, and glow even brighter. When Spectre stops spinning, the spots on his body go back to normal, but Chiot is alarmed to find the glaring green neon of the spots refuses to leave his vision.

Irritated by the dancing lights, Chiot paws frantically at the air, trying to get rid of them. Unfortunately, no matter how hard he tries to catch them, the spots just keep leaping tauntingly out of his reach. Growing angrier by the second, Chiot furiously jumps up, barking and baring his teeth. However, he only succeeds in tripping over himself and falling down in a tangle of limbs.
Cackling at his foe’s amusing predicament, Spectre begins rotating again, this time summoning up some water energy. He then launches the swirling blast of water straight at the hapless Growlithe, which spins him around from the force, not helping his current situation. Yelping from the sudden soaking, Chiot shakes his now sodden fur before turning back to Spectre looking embarrassed and angry.

As he stares at his jeering opponent, Chiot grits his teeth, and struggles to ignore the distracting flicker of the lights. He certainly doesn't want to make a fool of himself in front of that smug Spiritomb again. No way. Putting his nose to the rocky landscape, Chiot begins to sniff out his ghostly foe, carefully identifying Spectre's strange scent. Spectre watches in puzzlement as Chiot shuffles around, snuffling against the ground and occasionally snorting and sneezing as the moon dust goes up his nose. Before long, the Growlithe pauses, an "Ah ha!" look on his face.
As he looks up with a more confident posture, Spectre frowns, not quite understanding what happened, then calmly begins to build up a jagged purple sphere of plasma energy. The shadow ball levitates in the air before launching itself at Chiot, its dark, ragged shape looking horribly sharp. The Growlithe is knocked back by the phantom energy, tumbling head over heels in surprise. Furiously baring his teeth, Chiot pulls himself up, his confidence quickly fading and his rage at the stupid green lights slowly mounting again.

Okay use Will-O-Wisp first, then use toxic, or Fire Fang if Will-O-Wisp missed. Then finish off with a Reversal.

Will-O-Wisp ~ Toxic/Fire Fang ~ Reversal

Sorrowfully, it's unlikely that Will-O-Wisp will miss again, and there's really nothing we can do to help increase that chance that it does. So let's just use a Nasty Plot first, which I'm sure will be useful later on. Then, use a Snatch, since it's just plain unlikely that he'll use Fire Fang. Since this will probably take a good chunk of energy, we'll just Chill on the last action. This is also a good moveset because Reversal will do less damage if you don't do more damage to him.

Round two

Still angry and disorientated from the spots across his vision, Chiot shakes his head furiously, pawing at his muzzle. However, in doing so, he accidentally rakes his claws against the sensitive skin near his nose in his carelessness. Spectre goes into another fit of nasty giggling as the Growlithe howls in pain and surprise, then begins cooking up some more devious plans to annoy Chiot and claim victory.... and he certainly manages to come up with some good ones too, if the wicked grin on his jagged slash of a mouth is any indication. With narrowed eyes, the Spiritomb laughs diabolically, spinning around in another dizzy swirl of purple as he puts his fiendish mind into high gear.

Spectre is so wrapped up in his grand ideas that he almost forgets his next command. Almost. While Chiot is distracted by pretty colours, Spectre tenses slightly, his swirling form slowing and the green lights dulling to a flicker. A wicked looking purple and black blade of dark energy rapidly forms, then hovers eerily in front of his leering face.
Gingerly rubbing his muzzle with the soft pad of his paw this time, Chiot scowls as he hears Spectre laughing again. Aware that he’s being played for a fool, Chiot’s muzzle wrinkles back into a vicious snarl as he bares his fangs. Enough is enough, clawing at the stupid lights does no good, so he has to work around it. With an irritated shake of his head, Chiot charges at the gleeful Spectre, bright tongues of flame spilling out from his open jaws as he moves.
Spectre hisses in surprise as he sees his opponent cease his amusing antics and dish out the hurt instead as he sinks his fire cloaked fangs into the ghost Pokémon’s gaseous body. Chiot viciously shakes his head as fire spills from jaws, then flicks his head upwards with one final tear. Drops of tar-like fluid drip from the tear in Spectre’s ethereal body, splattering onto the craggy ground with a grotesque splashing sound. The ghost utters an unearthly wail, but more out of outrage than pain; the cut is small and the tar like substance stops dripping quickly. The gaseous purple substance quickly knits itself together again, the minor wound apparently unoticable.
Hissing and muttering incoherently, Spectre abruptly lashes out with his newly formed blade of purple and black, just as the Growlithe draws back. Chiot’s eyes widen in surprise, but the blade harmlessly swipes him in the chest, passing straight through him without any ill effects. Apart from a shiver down his spine.

Spectre’s jagged form sags in disappointment from the uselessness of his attack, and with a few choice curses, the ghost settles down to take a break. His jagged form continues to lose shape as he relaxes, feeling lost energy flowing through him again.
Glaring at his immobile opponent, Chiot gives another irritated flick of his head, reminding himself to ignore those stupid distracting lights dammit, and just concentrate on the battle. With a sharp bark, Chiot dashes towards Spectre again, pounding up clouds of moon dust as he moves across the rocks and craters. With an even louder bark than before, Chiot charges into the startled ghost, teeth and claws at the ready. Spectre hisses in pain, seething from being attacked by his one rarely exploited weakness. He quickly begins to understand exactly what the meaning behind all the sniffing and snuffling was about, and struggles to stay calm from the swift whacks the Growlithe delivers. When Chiot backs off, Spectre remains still, trying to focus more on his revenge plans than blind anger.

Don't worry Spectre. Even if you think you did bad, you still did quite good :3

Anyway, we all know you're raving to make use of that Special Attack boost. I'm just going to let you have that, so first let's use a Dark Pulse. Then let's try our luck with an Ominous Wind, since STAB is sexy. Finally, we'll test out our Hidden Power.
However, if at any time he burns, paralyzes, or poisons you, use Facade.

Dark Pulse/Facade~Ominous Wind/Facade~Hidden Power/Facade

Lets start out with Secret Power, as theres a chance it could confuse him (I think). Then use Substitute, so that you are safe from some of the attacks. Finish off with Double Team, to make a few clones, and to confuse him a bit more.

Secret Power ~ Substitute (15%) ~ Double Team

Both myself and shadow_lugia have decided that due to the lack of a current ref, and the unlikeliness of this match being taken by an E-ref, that we are simply going to end the match as a draw.

shadow_lugia will post confirming her side of the decision.
